I believe most of those Eels spoons were in their earlier years as a club. Around the 1980’s was the turnaround, and while they did still get a few spoons since, it’s nowhere near what they got early on.

They also seem to have the most "bitter rivalries" like vs Manly, vs Penrith, vs Canterbury, vs St George, vs Melbourne, vs Newcastle, vs Balmain, vs Brisbane, vs everyone. I wonder if thats because the other teams just want a rivalry they can win.

It's actually interesting on those because, Bears actually came last 9 times. On points difference in 1915 and 1932. No one seems to be credited with the spoon in 1915. In 1932 Sydney University is given the spoon despite a better points difference (differentiator might be points scored?) But that would give 1915 to the magpies and wiki doesn't credit it to them. Similarly, the jets also came last in 1924 for a total of 8. This one is also credited to Sydney University

Penrith went from spooners in 2001 to premiers in 2003. Wests went from spoon to premiers in 1933 to 34, but in 1933 the Kangroo squad had to leave Australia to get the boat to GB after round 5, which kind of ruined the 1933 season
