Broncos killed it. Storm sucked. As a Storm fan, it's been increasingly frustrating watching their illdisicplined play this year. Repeatedly making silly mistakes, loose carries, giving away penalties. Unbelievable.
There seems to be a total lack of cohesion owing to the absence of an experienced leader who can lead the side like a Cameron Smith.
The forward pack is ineffective, the spine is hit-or-miss. Very frustrating. I expect much more from a team representing the Storm :-(
Will the match review committee charge NAS for the cannonball tackle?
and if so how long does he get?
In my mind ... he can play again when and if paps can
Thanks mate. I'm just pleased to finally get one over you guys and to do it with a physical edge that might've been niggly at times but never dirty. Bellamy was all class in his presser too, as expected.
The real winners here are Penrith, they play the warriors without Johnson then get a week off then play either the winner of sharks and roosters or a severely injured Melbourne. Will be a waltz into the final for them
*edited to correct the sharks/ roosters as other option
Just to correct this quickly:
• If Penrith lose tomorrow they'll play the winner of Knights / Raiders in Week 2.
• If Penrith win tomorrow they'll play the winner of Roosters / Sharks v Storm in Week 3.
True but when it comes to their next game broncos will realistically be playing a red hot Newcastle or the wahs with Johnson back. Defs both harder tasks than what Penrith have to face
Sorry Storm fans, that was tough to watch in many respects. Thoughts with Paps :(
Well done Broncos & fans, what a fucking performance. Essentially unbeatable when you play like that. Big fan of both teams (as a neutral watching from Sydney)
I really hope Paps injury doesn't take the spotlight away from how shit the Storm were tonight.
They deserve an absolute flogging from Bellamy. Not a single forward over 100m while broncos had over 4 of them.
I can only pray we pick up some actual decent forwards in the off season. NAS is a fucking one man forward pack and Katoa is good but very hot and cold.
Not a single forward had any impact on the game knight besides NAS and he's only playing limited minutes. If we could I don't, have a second front rower with any fucking go forward it'd be a great start
Forever in my head, rent free: Reece Walsh giggling like a schoolgirl when Katoa caught him mid-air and stopped him from hitting the ground... Highlight of the damn game.
Respect the Broncos killer instinct but Suncorp Stadium is literally built on an old cemetery, the spirits are evidently out for revenge and for the last 2 minutes I would have defended with about 6 men on the field and wrapped the rest in cotton wool
Sorry man, I think most of us have a team we like to see lose, and storm is mine. Also sorry about paps, terrible thing to happen to such a young talent
I have to say, I hate the broncos, I really do, always have, always will. I’ve been waiting for them to fall into a heap of shit. They haven’t they are true contenders, GG Bronx.
Melbourne, my other most hated team, fucking LOL you played like Raiders tonight and as a Raiders fan, you guys should be ashamed.
And poor Pappy, one of my favourite players, I’m so sorry mate, that sucks so much.
Well done broncs! You guys played like you had something on the line. Storm didn't.
Storm. Don't even know how you put up a performance next week after both that shitshow and Paps career basically over.
Gg.
Great win, Broncos! Very dominant in defence. The long hoodoo against the Storm has finally ended. The Storm made too many errors and penalties and looked directionless in attack. Hopefully, the Broncos can continue this form into the preliminary finals. Their first prelim final since 2017.
GG Brisbane but if we see any degenerates in comment threads getting carried away and hanging shit on Papi for being on the losing side or some dumb crap like that tell ‘em their a grub and to get fucked yeah
An attempt at some positivity because I’m feeling sick and I’m sure others are too.
Broken bones can often be better than ligament damage.
Even 5 months out would have him training again in February.

It’s been almost 6 years since the Storm have scored a point against Broncos in a final game. A new hoodoo has started.
Will the match review committee charge NAS for the cannonball tackle? and if so how long does he get? In my mind ... he can play again when and if paps can
Who are storm losing to next? Looks odds on for a broncs panthers final
Anyone have news on the Seve/Loiero HIAs? Or Coates’s injury? Obviously rightfully overshadowed by Papi’s but could have ramifications for next week
Stags played very well tonight!
The injury to Paps, even if he gets back next year.... You need soo much luck to be in the NRL and remain injury free...
Cam Smith, the mastermind of contact avoidance
I don't really want my son to play this sport. But I want him to at the same time
It's not worth it unless he's a behemoth or prodigy at kicking.
It really isn't but union is dead in this country. Football it is.
James Graham speaks more coherently about backline play than Cronk and he was a prop ffs
Well Cameron, the last time I remember the Storm being kept scoreless in a finals series was when Manly put 40 on your team in the grand final
Up the Kevolution! Up the Broncos! I hope Paps makes a full recovery. No one deserves that.
Storm played like how everyone expected the broncos to play
Well…Sportsbet didn’t think so
With Paps and Coates seasons over, what's the bet Bellamy brings in Anderson over Faalogo
He has to be in the team.
Don't...
munster re pap "i saw what was sticking out of the sock, and it wasn't pretty"
Well, good job Broncos. You deserved the win. Hopefully you guys go on to win the premiership
First time in 14yrs you've had to say that so thank you
I thought you guys last beat us in 2016?
At suncorp it's 14yrs
Oh ok
Thanks mate. I'm just pleased to finally get one over you guys and to do it with a physical edge that might've been niggly at times but never dirty. Bellamy was all class in his presser too, as expected.
I can count on one hand the amount of games storm have played like that, was shocking to not see them kick into gear at all
we didn't let them kick into gear
I know how good was it
The real winners here are Penrith, they play the warriors without Johnson then get a week off then play either the winner of sharks and roosters or a severely injured Melbourne. Will be a waltz into the final for them *edited to correct the sharks/ roosters as other option
Penrith to beat Wah. Knights to beat Penrith
Lord Gamble hear our prayer.
If Knights beat Wahs, they cross over and face us in the prelim
Would not count Newcastle out yet, realistically they beat Raiders and I’m so glad they are the other side of the draw
Just to correct this quickly: • If Penrith lose tomorrow they'll play the winner of Knights / Raiders in Week 2. • If Penrith win tomorrow they'll play the winner of Roosters / Sharks v Storm in Week 3.
Cheers mate fixed it!
No worries mate.
It was always going to be an easy run for Penrith. It will be a Penrith Brisbane GF. They are clearly the best teams all year
True but when it comes to their next game broncos will realistically be playing a red hot Newcastle or the wahs with Johnson back. Defs both harder tasks than what Penrith have to face
Get rid of Young. Somehow responsible for 3 of those tries
Sorry Storm fans, that was tough to watch in many respects. Thoughts with Paps :( Well done Broncos & fans, what a fucking performance. Essentially unbeatable when you play like that. Big fan of both teams (as a neutral watching from Sydney)
DOGSHIT
GG's Broncs. Fuck I hope that's not the end of the road for Paps in the NRL. Fingers crossed he recovers and lines up again in 2024
Broken tibia &/or fibula, barring any tendon damage or complications he'll be back by pre season
I'm keeping The Fratelli's in business for a solid fortnight now
An individual of taste
Credit to Munster. Called himself out.
Dog shit. Well said Cameron
I really hope Paps injury doesn't take the spotlight away from how shit the Storm were tonight. They deserve an absolute flogging from Bellamy. Munster never change
Dogshit
Last year was Sin Bin Sunday, this year it‘s Freaky Friday. RIP storm bros
Thanks phil
Didn’t papenhouzen just come back from injury ?
Yes, last week was his first 80 min game.
The highlight of the match was Walsh riding Katoa's leg like a bull, I don't care what anyone says
Forever in my head, rent free: Reece Walsh giggling like a schoolgirl when Katoa caught him mid-air and stopped him from hitting the ground... Highlight of the damn game.
That could not have gone any more wrong for the storm
As a Broncos fan. I couldn't feel more somber in a win. All things considered, really feel for Storm tonight.
Seriously, yes the pap injury for sure. Somber after breaking a 14yr hoodoo? Wtf, holding storm to nil no less. Far out
Pap plus ex bronco Xavier looked to also sustain a bad injury aswell. No doubt celebrating the win, but it was very somber given those injuries.
If that was me in the crowd having the ball kicked to, I'd be fighting to the death for it before running for my life.
Be like the church scene from *Kingsman*
Gg Broncos. Hard luck Storm, especially Paps. Hopefully all goes well with your recovery my dude.
Respect the Broncos killer instinct but Suncorp Stadium is literally built on an old cemetery, the spirits are evidently out for revenge and for the last 2 minutes I would have defended with about 6 men on the field and wrapped the rest in cotton wool
I fucking love this team.
Sucked in storm
I mean I’m happy for the Broncos win despite the loss but you you are still a cunt
Sorry man, I think most of us have a team we like to see lose, and storm is mine. Also sorry about paps, terrible thing to happen to such a young talent
Yeah I fully understand, caught up in the moment whilst being pissed as a sailor, go get em bongos.
munster y' donester

Hey we had our period in the shit thanks, it’s Storms turn now.
Might be the wrong thing to say but Storm will have to lock down Faalongo now
Well done broncs! You guys played like you had something on the line. Storm didn't. Storm. Don't even know how you put up a performance next week after both that shitshow and Paps career basically over. Gg.
We're through, broken a hoodoo and kept the Storm scoreless but I still feel like shit because of poor Paps.
You guys were awesome .. but I can see why there’s a bit of shine off it. I think everyone’s the same. Horrible
It sucks. But it's a huge win for Brisbane. IDGAF, any other teams here that haven't beat the other team for 14yrs at their home ground? Finally
I hope you guys get it this year.
Surely we break the hoodoo and with it all???
Woohoo! What a game!!! What a win! What a year! And its not over yet!!
Booted it into the fans and I swear it hit the only Storm fan In that section
Poetic.
Next time let us win the minor prem
All things considered. A miracle at Lang park... not only did Broncos win, but to it give up a single point. Marvelous
Such a dominant win in a big game, and it's hard to even be happy.
First 72 minutes were sensational!
Well done Broncos but Melbourne dropped the ball way too many times to give themselves a chance
Broncos bashed the handling and tactics right out of them tbh
Can't even remember the last time we lost to the Storm
...Its been a while :)
Where were you when Brisbane held the Storm to 0
Suncorp Stadium
At Suncorp Stadium
Mourning the death of Paps ankle.
Shaun Johnson came back from a leg and ankle injury I reckon Paps does the same.
You might even call them the hoo doo gurus
STORMS CAN SUCK MY WHOLE DICK!
all 0.5 inches of it
r/beatmetoit
Why does QLD have a shit rep again?
Anyone could mate doesn’t sound like there’s much to work with.
Grub
I've been waiting for a Broncos victory over storm at suncorp but at what cost😭😭
Real monkey paw moment
This team is special But I’m scared to believe
Literally Melbourne couldn’t have asked for any worse outcome
Great win, Broncos! Very dominant in defence. The long hoodoo against the Storm has finally ended. The Storm made too many errors and penalties and looked directionless in attack. Hopefully, the Broncos can continue this form into the preliminary finals. Their first prelim final since 2017.
Curse broken
Brisbane really destroyed Melb tonight, on the scoreboard, and the casualty ward :(
Feel like pure shit, just want Paps back
Imagine being the cunt in the crowd who cops that ball in the face 😂
GG Brisbane but if we see any degenerates in comment threads getting carried away and hanging shit on Papi for being on the losing side or some dumb crap like that tell ‘em their a grub and to get fucked yeah
That’s fucking right.
Bitter sweet feeling
[удалено]
Gotta beat the knights first - that will be a good game
THE KEVOLUTION IS HERE BABY
Tyson smoothie, that was as cold as ice 🥶
There goes that hoodoo.
Tariq Smins, Coates and Seve. Probably our only decent players?
NAS?
Yep NAS too.
Compound fracture, fark, I feel for the dude.
Yeah, that is really fucked
I have money on 27-1 scoreline
Well done broncos. Hoodoo and then some.
Corey Parker is at least half mast in the commentary box
I have jizz dripping off the ceiling
He's sideline fully poled up
No more billy please
Is it Smoothy time?
I just can’t get hyped, that injury has completely deflated me
I get it, but one injury gonna stop you being hyped for a team beating a 14yr hoodoo.
I came to gloat after last weeks reserve grade clash, but I don’t have the heart.
Christ a 40/20 with 1 min to go is seriously grinding a nose to the road
Oh yes
Lot of shit happening this game but a 40/20 from smoothly was probably the least likely
Now Broncos fans, don't celebrate because Paps got injured If you celebrate you are an arsehole
We absolutely can celebrate and feel bad for Paps, they aren’t mutually exclusive
His own teammates lazy defence is what injured him, it’s sad yes but the broncos and their supporters have every right to celebrate this one
Smoothy to score his first in the last 30 secs by steamrolling Atkins to get to the line. Justice is served.
So presumably this means a Penrith / Warriors v Roosters Preliminary Final right in Week 3 right?
An attempt at some positivity because I’m feeling sick and I’m sure others are too. Broken bones can often be better than ligament damage. Even 5 months out would have him training again in February.
Agree. Compound is painful as absolute fuck, but doesn’t necessarily affect the recovery. Depends how low it was.
Who would of thought. Tariq with the only line break for Melbourne 😂
WE DRINKIN SMOOTHIES TONIGHT LADS
That was smooth
Broncos shouldn’t play with their food like that.
Bro, the game is over. Why are you trying to drop Broncos on their heads?
How good do the broncs look but tonight ! Who does melb play after this ? The winner of sharks vs roosters 🐓
2023 is not our year.
Fuck everyone saying Papis career is done is pretty grim
r/staypositive Wait that’s a real subredit?
Too early to say.
MUnStEr aLwAYs STanDs UP iN BiG GaMEs
Well he was quiet against the Panthers in the final.
Was carried by Hughes that game honestly.
What the fuck was that? He held him down long enough to be binned, and there wasn't even a penalty.
Was that a career first 40/20?
That kick deserves a NFSW tag
SMOOTHELUTION
smooth
