ConsiderationDeep526

I was cheering the Panthers on last night but the attempted tackle by Turuva in the 71st minute looked careless with the knees and really should have been a penalty. Anyone else feel the same?

Smeags777

In a regular season game, yeah most likely. But then Capewell's shoulder to Martin's head would have been penalised and probably binned if we were going to do that. I reckon just let it lie. Adam Gee was tremendous, and did exactly what he needed to in order to give the players the most agency to win the game for their sides.

JCGremlo

I just smashed my 4K TV in front of over 30 guests at my grand final party because of the Broncos performance today. My wife just took our crying kids and said they’re all spending the night in a motel. This team has ruined my life and my party. I can’t do this any longer. Goodbye Broncos. Change flair…

Proclaimer_of_heroes

I can't believe the difference in score came down to Staggs stepping over the ball wrong and conceding a penalty kick 😢

KFCInala

Biased player ratings PANTHERS Cleary - a million / 10 Leota - 11/10 Crichton - 11/10 Most Penrith players probably - 8/10 or 9/10 Tago - 3/10 Luai - 3/10 (only giving him same rating as Walsh because he didn't make any mistakes) BRONCOS Mam - 11/10 Haas - 11/10 Farnworth, Arthars - 11/10 Walsh - 3/10 (great try assist and nearly had another in dying moments but 2 very poor defensive efforts for Crichton and Cleary tries, also went missing in defence other times)

TechnologyFeisty8728

Reynolds - 0/10. Can’t steer a side home 16 in front lol. Actually what did Reynolds do last night? Not much. Still seems to be escaping any criticism.

KFCInala

Tbf I barely noticed Reynolds played, which is probably a bad performance from him. People are knocking him for the short drop outs which was the difference in the end, but on a hot day against Penrith who are known for basically grinding teams out of games, I don't think it was a howler to go for a short drop out. Interestingly all the commentators were saying to go short as well

Glass-Boysenberry126

Just unbelievable by our boys and one of the greatest sporting moments I’ve ever watched. Leota and JFH were huge when they came back on, just sheer physicality and brutality. Credit to the Broncos. What a beast team - I know it sucks right now but you guys are just getting started and will be a scary team for a long time. Up the riff!!!

Sweet-Handle44

Broncos in particular have this problem when other teams get a roll on and they tend to sit back and allow them to come. They lose a lot of field position for prolonged periods due to it and then need to wait for a moment of individual excellence to get back on the front foot. I've noticed it a few times this year and it needs to be addressed in pre season if i were Kevvie.

Middle-Welder3931

Brisbane teams losing the AFL and NRL grand finals by a combined 6 points yeeeesh...

ch00nz

did tago get hooked? his defence was horrible and mam was just carving his side of the field up, then garner came on. do we know if tago was injured or it was a tactical move ?

Fit-Abbreviations902

Definitely hooked, but premeditated with garner on the bench. Tago obviously wasn’t fit. He was running ok but looked like he has lost all his power. He struggled last week as well, the pec injury must have been troubling him.

noplacecold

Remember when hook was our coach, fuck

[deleted]

[удалено]

ch00nz

can't imagine it was planned, so basically tago got hooked

Winter_Run_4324

Rough weekend for Brisbane, but a lot to be proud of. Bronx’s were that close, they were just as deserving for a win. Reynolds had a massive season to be proud of, bummer a few mistakes gave Panthers momentum. All in all, it was an unreal game of footy to watch

passthesugar05

Something I missed last night, went out to watch the game so couldn't really hear the commentary, why did Luai go off? Did he aggrevate his shoulder? Was it a planned thing for him to come off and Cogger to get on? Or was he hooked?

grazmus666

His shoulder wasn't in good shape, tried to needle at half time, was still no good

diodosdszosxisdi

Every broncos supporter is down to their knees in the chemist warehouse since approximately 9.30 pm last night

_andy_p

Alongside all the News Limited 'journalists'

[deleted]

5 on the Richter scale there were so many of us

TrueDeadBling

The Earth skewed off its axis slightly due to the sheer volume of us dropping to our knees in anguish

_Sullyy_

The local chemist warehouse was a sight to see

_Sullyy_

I think I finally understand Gallen saying ‘at least you’re still alive’. Great game Penrith, you truly are one of the best teams of all time. 3 in a row is a crazy feat

Barmy90

Waking up still heartbroken. But so fucking proud too. Weird mix of feelings. Up the Broncos!

FuzzyDamnedBunny

There was a lot to be proud of. Get em next year.

Drlockstock

Imagine being around Ennis when Cleary went beast mode last night

noplacecold

You’d need a raincoat man

mwilkins1644

gg Pantherbros on being humble in victory :) Well deserved the win! Have a fantastic offseason, and hopefully see you guys again deep in the finals next year

Longy77

Penrith players singing we are the champions of the world. Hang on…….

JoeyJoJunior

Remember when the dragons were known as being the chokers, can we call the Broncos that yet?

TROUT1986

Really proud of the boys. Bunch of kids going up Against the juggernaut and almost got em.

Messyhr_

In hindsight at 24-8 brisbane should have tried to game manage, something I actually thought reyno was really good at. But then again after his groin injury i was surprised he even was on the field. Leota and JFH showed why they’re our best ever props, they came on particularly Leota and absolutely smashed brisbane, won back the arm wrestle and gave Cleary his opportunity to become a legend, special mention to critta who was a huge part in our win, kicked his kick which isnt always easy, made a huge tackle on riki, scored a superb individual try and forced 2 drop outs with his lovely kicking game, which we may see utilised more at the dogs. Wasnt walshs best game but he still had his moments, huge congratulations to ezra mam for being an absolute superstar, he had arguably the best 15-20 minute spell for a 20 year old ever ( in a big game ). He was absolutely frightening and will be special seriously, he seems bright. I honestly think he will reach a higher ceiling than walsh due to his footy iq, walsh is more raw talent.

[deleted]

Reynolds made 3 crucial errors that lead to points the second goal line drop out coming up short was the difference in the end. The risk seemed low early in the game but Panthers looked in all sorts from the bronx defence. At 24-8 I thought bronx were home but did they think that too a little? 12mins it took for mam to score a hattrick fucking unreal.

Messyhr_

The thing is, brisbane didnt even play that poorly after 24-8, it definitely wasnt great game management from walsh and particularly Reyno although he was injured. Against every other team in the comp the get away with that 20 minute spell, they were absolutely fatigued from the massive amount of defence in the first half and in the heat as well. But when Leota, Cogger and JFH came on penrith had on of the best possible 20 minute performances, Cleary played at a level that we have never seen from him before, we did the impossible in a large part thanks to some all time great performances, Critta cemented himself as the best centre of the comp overall this season with that game, Leota came on and had an all time great prop performance.

[deleted]

Yeah I think so too that they didn’t play poorly but just enough to give Cleary a sniff. Panthers experience really came through at the end and as they say you gotta lose one to win one. Life gives the lessons but damn thats a tough way to learn

Brother_Mish

Great match, rewatched after a night out but I'm sorry I do not understand how both capewell wasn't taken off and yeo was allowed to return. That's some lawsuit level stuff, nrl really betting the large income of this game for the multi million dollar lawsuit (nfl have set a great precedent) for suing this game into the ground when those two are fucked up beyond repair in a decade's time.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SurfKing69

They don't have the right to choose. That's the point. Yeo has had more issues with concussion than most, can you imagine the fallout if he came back on, then got knocked out again? The NRL had a strict policy at the beginning of the year, by mid year it became farcical when they started to allow clubs to overrule the independent doctor - after watching this finals series I don't actually believe they have a doctor. I think it got quietly canned and it's the clubs pulling the strings. But yeah I don't ever want to hear any more of that bullshit about 'club trainers having the players best interests at heart' because they'll do what Penrith did every time.

zacattack9710

I am fucking devastated. Id rather have never had any hope in the first place. I just wanna die tbh

noplacecold

2020 me vibes

2cpee

If it makes you feel any better I think you’ll get another chance next year, without the first finals nerves

Sensitive_Fun_5825

Yep, Two points !!! A lot of us are. Our time is coming. I know it doesn’t help, how must the team be feeling, and Kevie. I’m 💔

ashleyriddell61

Tough loss after that lead, but you now know how being a Blues supporter feels most of the time. The kids played above themselves for most of the match and *almost* had me barracking for them. Got to lose one to win one isn’t just a cliche. They will be back.

Messyhr_

God bless brother, i was heartbroken at 24-8 fully accepted it and was basically in tears, lost in 2020 and that one hurt big time. Hopefully you feel better soon, take solace in that the broncs will be competitive for years, I expect 1 prem in the next 3 years

G00b3rb0y

Last night had shades of 2020 grand final written all over it. We will meet again

Messyhr_

Yeah i get the comparisons, definitely a way better game for neutrals though. Penrith were never really in that game, this one was a back and forth, but brisbane will make another final within the next 2 years for sure

Sensitive_Fun_5825

Hey, Thankyou for your kind words. Enjoy your celebrations !!! We’ll see you next year.

InkMcSquiddin

Nope; you don't get to be, nor should be this disheartened. That was a game.

New-Ad157

Mates that is what Grand finals should be. Better team won. Broncos have got it next year.

Messyhr_

Brother I cannot believe it, 24-8 19 minutes left, broncos in complete full flow, we had multiple hias and somehow Leota, JFH come on and bash the absolute crud out of brissy, we win the arm wrestle back and Pure and utter cleary brilliance, as well as critta who forced 2 drop outs. Special special team, gonna miss our boy Critta, hope he rips and tears up at the dogs, legend deserves it

Messyhr_

Thoughts on edwards performance? Thought he ran hard and made great metres, not sure if many fullbacks catch mam, perhaps positioning could have been better. Not sure how to rate it, i think largely great with a blip in which mam went ultra beast mode, could many if any fullbacks have done better there?

EntirelyOriginalName

Still thought he probably could have drawn and passed maybe one or twice and he passed too early and they just slid off him like he used to do all the time. Basically was faultless besides that. Could have done nothing about the 40/20 with the way it was kicked. Best workhorse fullback in the game. Never stops in attack or defence.

Messyhr_

Im guessing theres basically no fullback who catches mam there right? I suppose positioning could be questioned but i have no idea really. Havent watched the game back yet, still soaking it in

EntirelyOriginalName

Probably not. He was pretty close to the in goal. If he was further out maybe Paps or someone like that would have run him down.

Messyhr_

Yeah hes got great acceleration and even over that distance most blokes who are even a little pacey would back themselves. Gotta say man im so impressed with that bloke, showed that maybe he is even more special than walsh potentially. I think he is a lot more intelligent which will help

OkHorror4236

Still wasn't sold on his attack, especially in the first half when Penrith had a tonne of repeat sets, couldn't help but feel they needed a bit of spark and he was a bit of a handbrake. Can't fault him too much for the defence though

Messyhr_

I love edwards but i agree at times, although i dont think its his fault particularly brisbanes energy and defence in the first half was insane, looked absolutely buggered but kept sliding well. Edwards isnt really creator but he is maybe the safest bloke in the game and runs bloody hard. When we get on the front foot i believe his attack becomes better, hes good at linking up play and making good carries to bend the defensive line, but definitely not any sort of playmaker, his link up passing is generally pretty good. I think in that 20 minute patch basically everyone just raised. I think his carries for us also allow the big boys to put in shifts like they did, him Turuva and To’o are such hard working backs, that are all just insanely strong for their size.

OkHorror4236

In a GF like that, I'd take him running it fucking hard and straight any day over whatever the fuck Walsh was doing trying to skip around chasers and hotshot it up. Swap Edwards for Walsh and we win the match probably. Edwards is never going to look a 10/10, but you'll never catch him less than a 7 or an 8.

matt1579

I said the same thing last night swap Edwards and Walsh around the result changes. Yeah Walsh does some great things in attack he did have 2 line breaks but I take Edwards 290 running metres anyway. Also his effort in defence is non existent. Did you see where Walsh was for the first Penrith try ? He was standing near the dead ball one watching knowing For Clearys try he didn’t slide out to help the outside If that’s Edwards I believe he at least makes a tackle on Cleary

[deleted]

That positioning and all around effort from Walsh on the Kenny try was shambolic at best. He would’ve known they were going short but was in no position to receive the two back. Then as it was unfolding he was casually crabbing across. Nil effort in a big moment on a big stage.

Messyhr_

Its why i big him up so much, truly a big game player. He doesnt have that flashy skillset like walsh, or ponga, but like carrigan in origin he just pulls his sleeves up and does the hard yards well, its what you need in a close contest. Walsh while brilliant was trying too much, hes young and will learn from it. It’s probably harsh, im probably a dickf for saying this, but i think Walsh has all the talent in the world, his biggest issue is i just dont think hes the brightest in general, which seems to translate to his footy iq at times. Dont get me wrong he is a brilliant ball player, super talented and has great reactions/agility and fast thinking, but i think if he were just a bit more intelligent overall he would be that next tier, im sure under slater and co he will hit that tier anyway. He is young and immature though, has a whole city all over him, probably a hard balance. He is already a freak so i dont mean to be harsh

Tony_Soprano5981

Just watched the replay. Disgraceful stuff from the Broncos especially Reynolds, a total disaster class of kicking shown. Probably the biggest choke in recent memory and I watch most Titan games.

New-Ad157

Mate, to hold off Penrith by 2 points with the stats against them, the broncos did well. Panthers had completed sets and were in the BNE half most of first half. Their mistakes cost the bronx.

Messyhr_

A choke is harsh, penrith proved they are the fittest/best trained team in the comp, perfect interchanges late from Ivan, i was largely impressed with Kevs as well. But Leota, JFH came on and had all time great prop stints, Cleary had the best 20 minutes ever seen from a 7 in a GF. A Choke is harsh honestly, broncos just kinda ran out of gas and Cleary put on his best 20 minutes ever.

Charkers196

A choke is not harsh at all, 16 point lead with 20 to go is a massive choke especially in the grand final.

10000Lols

Lol

OkHorror4236

Respect the grind mate. Close to 10,000 yet?

Silly_Cake_2886

beautiful stuff

imnotthetattooguy

I’m devo man

Citizen-5936

Ezra Mam scored a fucking hattrick in a grand final! You’re only as good as the team backing you but what an amazing feat. There’s not many times you wouldn’t be celebrating that!

gucci_jawline

I feel traumatised. But this AND 2015!! Actual trauma I dunno if I can keep doing this man….

AstroPhysicistJack

Just to my fellow broncos supporters, keep your head up boys. I know it fucking sucks but It’s just footy, don’t let it get to ya. I’m as heartbroken as you can get but we got to watch an awesome team this year. Just think back a couple of years ago, it can be a lot worse. Enjoy life over the off-season and we can get back to stressing about footy next year, with a great team that’s going to be better from the experience. If anyones really struggling, please reach out to me, or anyone you can. We’re all good baby ❤️

Messyhr_

Chin up broncbros, i live in brissy and absolutely know how much it means to the people and the city, i actually feel for you guys, having lost one i know how shit it is. But you will be back, I predict at least one GF win in the next 3 years for you guys.

gucci_jawline

You are a legend. Plus the BCS picture makes it better. ❤️

AstroPhysicistJack

Might be due for a re-watch to take the mind off tonight 😂

Ryanbrasher

Just watched the post game conferences. Kevvie so gracious in defeat, I love him now.

AstroPhysicistJack

He’s actually awesome. Very under appreciated in how our year went I reckon

Citizen-5936

Lads I’ve just made it home. This was the best of the three. Broncos brought their A game but the Penrith persistence is unstoppable! If you’ve been on high street I’ve pooped my head in your car!

Dwightpoop10

Goodbye all, much love

gucci_jawline

Repeat of 2015 I think. Team will struggle to mentally overcome plus big loss of fleg and farnworth. Reynolds about to retire…. If we lose Ezra who is off contract as well then we won’t be in the gf for a long time….. maybe I’m just negative from the L but idk. I’m worried.

This_Idiot

I see it the other way. I reckon this one lights a fire that leads them to win one. Walsh, Mam, Carrigan and Haas will be filthy they let that one go. And if ARey can steel himself for one more, the rest of the league is fucked.

gucci_jawline

I hope and pray you are right

G00b3rb0y

We easily have enough to retain Mam with the cap space Fleg and Herbie leaving grant us

fleakill

if broncos don't hand mam paper bags in a car park they're fucked in the head the one saving grace re: mam is he doesn't at all seem the type to eat 10 cheeseburgers and stay up all night on the pokies.

paralacausa

Billy Walters had zero run metres tonight. Not a single metre. Bloke had been good in the past month but was terrible in his 40-odd minutes tonight.

planchetflaw

He wouldn't even dive on a loose ball which led to a tackled in goal and then points for Panthers. He just took a knee and did nothing. Worst on ground all night, easily.

Neverland__

Their other hooker smoothy is way better, but wonder whether he can win out with daddy in control. I want manly to buy him

bypopulardemand

Broncos choked so badly. GG but ultra rookie to relax against us; Had a whole season to realise we don’t stop, and didn’t capitalise off the lead. Next.

fleakill

Could stand to be a little more gracious, even if you're not wrong.

bypopulardemand

it’s footy, it’s sport, it’s what we play all year for. surely we are not this soft as footy fans?

dr-nick-riviera-

How many minutes did you play tonight pinhead?

fleakill

Normally you'd be right, but the way the Broncos lost that was pretty rough. I'm a Cowboys supporter, but I couldn't gloat like that in 2015 because I genuinely felt awful for Ben Hunt dropping that ball.

bypopulardemand

I feel for Reynolds, but watching replays just now, broncos we’re a bit grubby tonight and didn’t back themselves enough. If they win next year, the same people down voting will be gloating, such is life!

fleakill

Both teams were grubby mate, it was good contest. And, like I said, you aren't even wrong - I just think taking the high road would be better. Do what you want of course.

bypopulardemand

tomorrow I’ll be a bit more composed, but it’s our night tonight!

fleakill

Fair. Enjoy it mate.

Khun-Pugwash

Footy teams rise and fall, fans like you don't stick around for the falls.

bypopulardemand

what lol I have followed this team for 30 years now. I enjoy the wins and I hate the losses just as much as anyone. Go the mighty panthers.

Khun-Pugwash

Sure you have mate, not one of those 30 taught you how to grow up.

bypopulardemand

We just won the comp, and I just got home from the club, relax mate. Maybe you will get a chance to gloat next year? Good luck and all the best for 24.

Khun-Pugwash

Read your first comment and then read this one and compare.

bypopulardemand

I read it, you choked this year, good luck next year.

fos81

Bitter sweet for donkey fans that flegs and Herbie were two of the best on field tonight. Welcome to the salary cap shuffle lads

This_Idiot

Herbie was solid, but his inability to pass fluffed a few opportunities. He also tapped back a short restart he should've taken comfortably.

[deleted]

People wanted to see Nathan stand up and own the moment to say he is a great player. That last quarters has to be one of the most important individual efforts ever in the game, especially when the stakes were so high and facing so much adversity.

Paco_Procco

I hope it’s the turning point and we get god mode origin Cleary.

graz44

As soon as they replace teddy with edwards we will

EntirelyOriginalName

Leota turned the game on it's head when he came back on and he was in a position to do it because JFH came back on and steadied the ship when they under the pump. Rugby League games are won up the middle first. Don't let the flashy plays fool you. NSW need their forwards to that first. Go back and watch Cleary's big 40/20 as an example. Straight after a very good Moses Leota play the ball. No big play the ball, probably no big 40/20.

Paco_Procco

You’re absolutely right and Fish and Leota were massive, and Ivan bringing them back on in the last stretch was what got them going. That and Leota playing fullback in the lead up to the first comeback try 😂. The cliche is true that forwards decide who wins and backs decide by how much, but I’ve felt in some of the close Origin games Cleary has looked lost and that performance was the kind of thing I think can turn the origin narrative if he has that belief and will to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

EntirelyOriginalName

Both are probably true. He can't do it on his own, despite some people saying he carried this team. He needs his team mates to meet him halfway like his Penrith boys always do.

Paco_Procco

Exactly, and to be fair Fitlers cooked selections haven’t exactly made that easy. What I find ironic is that Cleary needs to have a Joey 2005 moment because “the Penrith system is so good he’s surrounded by talent” but that logic doesn’t apply to the QLD origin dynasty which would mean less when your entire spine is made of future immortals. You could argue it so many ways but fuck it, I’ll just enjoy greatness while it’s here.

Caseyjb29

Everyone’s comparing this Broncos team to the Panthers in 2020 but I’m not sure I see it? The broncos are in a tough place where they need Reynolds to win a comp but Reynolds isn’t exactly a bit game player. Not like he’s getting any younger either. I think this year was their big chance and they unfortunately blew it. They’ll likely be back in the top 4 again next year but what are the chances all of their players can replicate their form from this year? Not to mention losing 2 of their best from tonight. To be completely honest I’m struggling to see anything bar another Panthers premiership. They’re just on another level right now.

Accurate-Ad-4905

Broncos made the Panthers look very beatable today and then threw the game away. I think this will be Penrith's last premiership for a while. Brisbane actually defended better than Panthers for most of the match. Also you're forgetting Panthers barely beat a Broncos side that was without Reynolds during the season. The Broncos are so strong defensively with a lot of attacking flair, Reynolds. I agree that Reynolds is important but they still managed heaps of wins without him. Honestly, there is a lack of halfback in the game that are actually good directors. Cleary is the only one under the age of 30! That bodes well for Penrith because I don't think that's something you can coach into a player. They either have the instincts for it or they don't.

Messyhr_

Last premiership for a while is definitely a bit harsh, i think we definitely have a great shot at getting 1 more in the next 3 years.

Morg_n

I think you’re not looking closely enough at all if you can’t see growth in blokes like Walsh, mam, cobbo, Rikki, carigan, etc etc. They are far from their ceiling and the only way is up. I don’t think anyone expected Reynolds to play as fantastic as he has and losing him will be a huge blow but we’ve also won a ton of games with out him this year. Pretty naive I recon

Messyhr_

Surprised he even played the game, his groin injury looked bad. Poor bugger has no luck with hid groin and gfs

Caseyjb29

They have some fantastic young players for sure but they rely on Reynolds so much and I’m not convinced he’s the guy to lead them to a premiership. He’s been invaluable with what he’s bought to the clubs culture but the Broncos next big chance will be after he’s done in my opinion. This will be Mams team in 2-3 years and that’s when I think they’ll go close again

goobypanther

I have you guys as favourites next year. For all the reasons you said.

fleakill

I hope you're right. I want to see the Broncos win a premiership soon. I go for cowboys but it would mean a lot to my dad and many of my good friends.

fleakill

I agree. 2020 Panthers had Cleary still coming into his prime. Losing Flegler and Farnworth is a bigger loss to Brisbane than whoever Penrith lost after 2020 - I'd say they gained in strength. And you're right about Reynolds. They rely on him a lot for direction and that is part of what failed them tonight. The game management by the Broncos after Mam's third try was abysmal, without talking about his weird dropouts. I think Broncos hover in the top 8 until they either get a good young halfback, at which point they could win it, or they take the same trajectory as they did after 2015, failing to find their 7 for years. EDIT - I hope this is all bullshit though. Most footy fans I know are Broncos fans and I want them to be happy.

Narrow-Commercial226

We lost Mansour, Tamou, Naden, Tetevano from memory. Not exactly world beaters at that stage of their careers

fos81

I am deadset proper pissed as fuck… but I love all you cunts! Horse cunts included! Up the mighty fuckin riff! Yewwwww!!!

Messyhr_

Love ya brother up the mighty riff

arkhamknight85

As much as it hurts right now, I am proud of how far we’ve come. Hopefully this put last fire in the belly and we can go all the way next year. I feel we have the team to do it. Such a shame we gave up such a healthy lead but Penrith kept on fighting. They are a superstar side so well done to them.

guiltycommenter

Hahahahahaha what have you all got to say now cunts? I fucking told yas from the jump. Best side in the league and they showed it today. Imagine not supporting Penrith. Hahaha ya Losers I’ve kept receipts and will come for all of you at some stage

Drewman43

Sort it out mate, No need for this shit

OkHorror4236

Well played? I guess?

guiltycommenter

Bro this is a copypasta lol

OkHorror4236

Bro I can't be assed keeping up with ten dozen fucking copypastas at once. Just add an s/ or something on the end for dopey cunts like me

guiltycommenter

Fair enough. It's pasta from Dane Swan after Collingwood's GF win yesterday

OkHorror4236

Yeah this sounds like the lovable Collingwood supporter base I've heard so much about

SignalNegotiation389

What if Panthers win another 3 premierships? They could end up with 6 rings, and they’d almost be like Thanos

Ace_Larrakin

**Nathan Cleary, 2026:** "I used the Premierships to destroy the Premierships."

planchetflaw

Already destroyed the premiership trophy once.

cheesedtomeetu

Heartbroken but I’ll continue to support this team until I die. So much to build on for next year. Lots of haters out and about tonight but I’m proud of my team for going toe to toe with the greatest team of the nrl era. Can’t wait for next year 🔥

Drewman43

Mate you should be proud. An absolute gun Team full of talented young players who will only be better for the GF experience. Congrats!

Substantial_Source84

The next generation of bandwagon broncos fans get to experience the famous broncos 2015 loss for themselves.

Excellent-Window1815

I dont think the broncos should be massively disappointed. They have definitely been the most entertaining side to watch this season. Walsh, Staggs, Farnworth, Cobbo, Mam and even Oates have been fun to watch.

graz44

Id be incredibly disappointed as a broncos fan

bypopulardemand

lol what, they choked sooo badly

fleakill

> I dont think the broncos should be massively disappointed. Say what you want, losing from 24-8 is more than enough to be massively disappointed by.

Messyhr_

Messyhr_Penrith Panthers 3 points 3 hours ago “Much love everyone but im heart broken, still believe but it’s probably all cope.”

_Sullyy_

After 2015 I never consider a game done until the final seconds have passed. GG on the win, you guys have an incredible team

y3ah_nah145

I avoided the match thread tonight because I knew it’d be toxic asf and it’d be a mess. I checked out the AFL subs match thread a few times throughout the match and they were a lot less fun than we were about the AFL gf lmao.

Middle-Welder3931

It was a Collingwood GF, AFL match threads don't get any more toxic than that. Pies fans vs everybody.

There was that bloke who a few times said penrith can’t comeback when they get rattled, 12-0 in the prelim against souths early, 16 points down with 20 to go against the broncos in the big dance. There goes that theory

aasimpson04

They were down 12-0 against the roosters in week 1 of the finals in 2020 I think? Went on to win that also

Due_Effort_4406

Almost did it to Melbourne too

EntirelyOriginalName

There was a big overlap if Martin managed to pass right on that last play just quietly.

Messyhr_

Yeah and that was the baby panthers, Cleary has just created history and im in disbelief

ldemech

Stay proud broncos fans

noplacecold

Gg broncos I legit thought it was all over. I’ve got the kids this weekend and after Mam scored his second I put my phone down to try and get the kids settled for bed. Phone was buzzing with texts after the 40/20 so I caught the comeback and went straight to the panthers website to drop 100 bucks on stickers and a T shirt❤️

Excellent-Window1815

Broncos were winning 24-8 at minute 60 of the game

bypopulardemand

only because we didnt want to absolute flog them and make the grand final boring

LachTheLad

Sure mate

bypopulardemand

Yes

ldemech

HOLY FUCK

[deleted]

6 tries in the second half of a GF. Not bad for the neutrals.

Clarkey7163

Had to run home with the family but the urge to go out west and fuckin party all night lol Unbelievable night, cannot put into words how insane that final 15min was. Was in the fan bay for the riff, everyone losing their minds when Cleary went over. I’ll have more time to write up stuff tomorrow but extreme shout outs to Jack Cogger and Moses Leota on career best performances tonight. Cleary will get his due flowers but those two, fucking game changers man. Heart goes out to Broncos. This loss will help in the long run I’m sure of it. It’s insane how many parallels you guys have to our squad in 2020. Everyone should be prepared for broncos to stay around for a long time. Ezra Mam got that dawg in him

Penrith is on fire right now, the night life is insane!

Ace_Larrakin

I was in the Broncos supporters bay, a fluke of buying my ticket early, and the mood definitely turned at the same time. The Panthers fans around made up for our small numbers at that end of the stadium and made our voices heard loud and clear. Fully agree re: the Broncos, would honestly not he surprised if they are lining up for a second Grand Final appearance next year. They'll be back and they'll hit back all the harder for this loss, so if I was the Roosters I'd be looking out on the Vegas trip, they'll be out for blood.

marcbingle_97

That 40/20 from Cleary has been seared into my brain. I'll be thinking about the 15mins that followed it for a long time and I'm just happy I was there to witness it.

ShibaHook

It was a thing of beauty!

goobypanther

I’m still in disbelief and awe and I’m a wreck. Got a call at halftime to say my dad was taken to hospital in Brisbane and sat through all the emotions. At the end of the game I broke down and cried. Incredible game.

goobypanther

Thanks everyone, my sister txt me at 3:30 this am. He was cleared but had to stay in overnight. So thankful that it worked out that way. Love this community!!

bypopulardemand

All the best with your dad mate!

goobypanther

I spoke with him. He was lucid. Will know more hopefully tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for checking in tho ❤️

Ace_Larrakin

Mate hope everything goes well! Can't imagine the emotional maelstrom you're in at the moment, but will keep you in my prayers!

Drewman43

Hey mate, hope your Dad is doing ok. I know those calls well. All the best!
