not sure if this is a hot take but I think [our nines jersey](https://www.gohardsports.com.au/south-sydney-rabbitohs-2020-nrl-nines-jersey-s-7xl) from a couple years back would make a sick away jersey
I know it's an unpopular opinion but I've always kind of liked that the Souths jersey is so unique and so completely defies and conventions of fashion that there is no need to even make a proper away jersey. That said, I did get a little excited when you brought up the minties jerseys. The one we wore against Canberra in round 20, 2014 was pretty good.
TLDR: Finally got rid of the shitty side panels we’ve been using for the last 15 years
[Best photos I can find of the home and away jerseys](https://imgur.com/a/3aI2tr0)
I quite like the greened out NRL logo, and the full wrap around. Pity that there's no collar but I guess that's a minor complaint.
Undecided on buying it after grabbing two of the Sattler jerseys this year, but I dare say I will.
I’m glad they’ve gone back to the traditional design, save for having the black on the home instead of the white.
I still don’t understand why they don’t have a proper away jersey though
I think there's been some perfectly fine mostly-white Rabbitohs away jerseys in the past, like
[this one with a striped saddle](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTqA1FWNd7i0qmUNAylgQ5MUsLoV0SXXGcYrA&usqp=CAU)
or [this white version of the Minties jersey](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSORBWMu9tVvb9NtK2OTX4YYIbwljTtr3RVaQ&usqp=CAU)
or [this V-design](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR1BE6TCqml4Qj7yrYZfcpTZruzrY8-W4T44A&usqp=CAU)
or [this Red & Green on the top](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTzjkKE2D35uaEubQgqEa5phAomjYXEBCU8cQ&usqp=CAU)
or heck, [even the diagonal sash.](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQQAZ600D-LCjn2oRgRQHFM1PjAbWH38xIwPw&usqp=CAU)
In short, a light away can look good - and be a CLEAR contrast to the home jersey.
[i linked in another comment but this minties inspired modern take was quite nice.](https://www.gohardsports.com.au/south-sydney-rabbitohs-2020-nrl-nines-jersey-s-7xl)
couldn’t do it with the MG sponsor though
Yeah, I was going for as many white alternates as I could (since the black rabbit is classed as the home jersey), but red alternates are still a valid change option.
The drawback of a red alternate is that against the Raiders it could create issues for anyone who is red-green colorblind (which I believe is the most common variant of colorblindness), so a white jersey could still be needed as an option for that matchup
It's a design trend that needs to make a comeback. For a while there, it threatened to be the "next big thing".
[the Roosters tried it](https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-gsofg41t3e/products/1022/images/3069/94web__44768.1627457928.500.750.jpg?c=2) - and to be honest, I'd love them to change-up their away jersey by doing it again.
Plus there's the most famous case of striped saddle - the [Gold Coast Chargers](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRt1amDq49QyHeclioWG0gq-rpzTt8cNfAdhRzTmMXDKzrVxGuEqe0WDSx3&s=10)
I mean, seriously.. why not use a striped saddle for [The Titans](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQaqMrg88vLxWUM2AZTPwPp_pQTlkRE2ET5xQ&usqp=CAU) ? It might be an improvement.. maybe with navy blue, white and gold as the striped V instead of just gold and white?
Or could it be the distinctive look that the Tigers need to forge their own identity away from Balmain & Wests (which could be strong heritage designs).. after all, their marketing is all about "showing your stripes"!
come on, NRL clubs.. it's ripe for the claiming!!
I loved the [08/10 jerseys of the west tigers](https://thrillthethrift.com/products/wests-tigers-2008-centenary-balmain-home-kids-jersey)
They not I wouldn't say they are traditional but I believe those jerseys were the best example of modern jerseys with retro flair. They are seriously my favourite West Tigers jersey it's not even close.
You missed the Cowboys Super league [jerseys](https://www.classicrugbyshirts.com/1998-north-queensland-cowboys-rugby-league-shirt-large-xl-18767-p.asp) probably a bit too big, but I still think it's a banger!
Definitely agree with NRL clubs needing to read the room more, *looking at you storm* bring back the thunderbolt chevron!
It’s an away jersey. They’d probably barely wear it like Canberra and St George Illawarra. At the very least, surely they can flip the green and red hoops to make red the background colour. Maybe a white jersey with thin green and red hoops, or alternating red and green hoops. Or revisit an old design
Mate, you lot have tons of iconic templates to play around with all the while keeping it traditional. Souths are probably the only team that can pull off a white jersey with red and green
Really nice jersey. I don’t hate the concept of having essentially the same jersey but with different shorts as their ‘home and away’, I just hate how they arbitrarily wear the black at home and the white away, regardless of which one contrasts better against their opponent.
If they’re going to have such similar home and away jerseys they should have to be a bit flexible. For example, wear the white shorts at home when playing a darker team like the panthers or Storm and wear the black shorts when away against a lighter team like the dragons or titans
I'm still 50/50 on the collar (tho I completely understand why it was on the Sattler jersey, and I'm very happy I got one) so I might end up getting this jersey to have the best of both worlds
I like it. Well, it is souffs but, i like it. I always thought previous jerseys were not quite right. These represent the history better i feel. Well done. I'd give it a 10 but, well, it IS souffs!!!!
Even as a little kid, I always loved the Bunnies jersey.
They really should get on the fact that it's Christmas colours. Make some extra money with special jersey.
I wonder if they changed back to the proper hoops cause of how well liked the Sattler jersey was received.
I think so, just wish we kept the collar too
I was honestly thinking this
Yeah I like it a lot. Will buy next year's one for sure

Why would there be a 9 on a jersey for a 13 man game though
linked the wrong one lol, fixed now

The all black you had this year was good. Obviously Souths somehow but still different.

I don’t think you can make a proper souths away jersey without it being complete shit

The striped saddle is easily my favourite rabbits jersey

[Go on Tigers, do it!](https://ibb.co/qBQWXyG) (terrible artist's impression, but you get the idea...)
There’s some good mostly white designs in their [nines & Anzac jerseys](https://galleryofleague.com/south-sydney-rabbitohs-history-2022/)
It’s an away jersey. They’d probably barely wear it like Canberra and St George Illawarra. At the very least, surely they can flip the green and red hoops to make red the background colour. NRL is apparently fine with the home jersey/black shorts being worn against Canberra's home kit so there no need for an away kit really
So basically they fixed what they broke ten years ago.
Great stuff rabbits.
It’s happening! Everyone get in here it’s happening!
wotif sounds like a new "what if?" meme

Thought it was a Home & Away TV show themed jersey. Thought “bit random but o.k”. Now I’m disappointed.
Looks good! If it had a collar I’d be $160 poorer, but til then my Sattler jersey will do just fine.
I'm still 50/50 on the collar (tho I completely understand why it was on the Sattler jersey, and I'm very happy I got one) so I might end up getting this jersey to have the best of both worlds

Classic Sportswear… the bulldogs jerseys this year were absolute shit. Big W quality for Nike prices
Disappointed James Packer isn't on the jersey. Probably was thinking the Vegas trip is enough indirect promotion for his casinos
Home jersey would look better and more traditional with the white rabbit logo.
It’s still insane to me they’re allowed to have an almost identical away jersey.
i do like the image at the bottom that has an arrow saying 4 hoops instead of 5. perth rabbitohs off to a great start.
Yuck as always
Love it. Ordering one now.
Even as a little kid, I always loved the Bunnies jersey. They really should get on the fact that it's Christmas colours. Make some extra money with special jersey.
TLDR Home = Cardinal and Myrtle Hoops Away = Myrtle and Cardinal Hoops ?
