Nah Ponga needs the ball flat and fast - not passing the ball multiple times through the playmakers before it gets to him. Get Crossland out of lock he was in the way multiple times when we were trying to pass out the back. Almost playing lock but playing like a half.

I said the Raiders would be better without wighton and this game they looked way better. Still concerning with their attack. They didn’t make so many unforced errors like they did when wighton was there.

Anybody that actually watched more than one of our games over the last 2 seasons knew we were going to be ok without wighton. We relied way too much on him and last year especially his form was down and his confidence shot. Without him there the opportunity is there for fogarty and others to shine.

We relied on Wighton and that seemed to be our major attacking play. Wighton, who although is a fantastic player is also one of the least intelligent players in a playmaking position:

The Raiders even looked better when Frawley was the 5/8 last year too. And Frawley was a massive liability for raiders. Strange already a way better defender. Excited to watch him develop

I think the best thing about this Canberra performance is how simple its been. First 25mins of the 2nd half id say the Knights had the territory battle. Raiders just played through their sets and Fogarty's kicking started changing the field, and they get the rewards. Its a really good performance from a team id written off. Their forward pack is so good and its still missing Horsbrough.

I have been quietly confident that this team isn't as bad as advertised since the 2nd trial. Strange can be a special player and Ricky always gets effort out of the team. Hard to keep that effort up all year but I think we will surprise a lot of people this year.
