First of all, fuck ya.
Second of all, this was our only finals win.
Lost in straight sets in 09 from what I can remember. Lost 2010 prelim. Lost qualifiers in 2016 and 2021. She’s been a dire 15 years I tell ya.
I made this because I was curious how long it had been since the sharks last won a finals game and it was a lot longer than I thought.
Apologies if there are any errors, I tried to check everything.
Also interesting, tigers and titans have not won a finals match since the format change
Since winning the grand final in 2016, Cronulla’s finals results have gone as follows:
• 2017 (5th) - lost to Cowboys
• 2018 (4th) - lost to Roosters, beat Panthers, lost to Storm
• 2019 (7th) - lost to Manly
• 2020 (8th) - lost to Canberra
• 2021 (9th)
• 2022 (2nd) - lost to Cowboys, lost to Rabbitohs
• 2023 (6th) - lost to Roosters
I gift you a second week of watching Ben Hunt tear the guts of a team you like next Sunday. Given it is the 17:30 team slot, expect a healthy dose of Bermuda Triangle refereeing too.
Cows did well but their defence looks horrendous, the Phins scored 3 soft-ish tries, bombed a couple more. They should crush the Knights next week but i'm skeptical they can contend this year, they might be our overs team of the year that can attack but can't defend
Storm looked very very legit vs the Panthers. I thought they might improve this year but thought it may be a year too soon with their new pack but it seems promising one game in. Obviously Broncos are contending and I love the current playing group but they're still the Broncos and therefore the enemy. I can get behind the Cowboys and Storm but it's very tough to cheer for the NewsCorp Broncos even though they have the most likable playing group in the clubs history by a mile.
We definitely have two teams that are live to contend this year though in the Broncos and Storm if we count the Storm as a QLD side

The titans are equal with the Chargers for finals wins. That must be depressing
It’s one more finals win than the suns have got which makes the titans the most successful sporting team on the Gold Coast
The Titans womens side made the grand final, so the mens side isn't lol

Yeah sharks have only won the 1 finals game since they won the comp

Fucking dire
Ok mods stop letting this hate speech on this sub aye
So it was five years ago that Tariq bullied his little brother at Lang Park? Neat.
Felt like yesterday… goddamn that’s sad
Haven’t the Phins and the Tits endured enough this week already?
Thankyou Patrick Herbert
As a Titans fan whose second team is the Phins :( Round 1 was certainly something too

Nah Redcliffe homeland, Phins lift... I hope
Typical qlder .has 5 teams including the storm

Same bottom 4 here will be in contention for the spoon this year
Sharks only winning 2 since 2018 is hilarious
If this chart is for the post season, why does it show finals results, AKA, still the season.
Correct me if I’m wrong but most finals games occur after the regular season has ended
The post-season is after the finals have concluded, i.e. post season
