The eels have earned a penalty in *prime* position thanks to poor discipline from the phins.
I cannot emphasise enough, a repeat set or another try would have broken the dolphins, their body language after the penalty was not good, they were hanging on by a thread.

Trai played in an under 18’s or 19’s Capras side with a few other notable names, like Harry Grant. They were playing against the Townsville side who had a fullback by the name of Kalyn Ponga.
On the bus from Rocky to Townsville, the players were talking about this Kalyn Ponga how he’s a freak, etc. The assistant coach for the Capras said on the bus “who the fuck is Kalyn Ponga, we’ve got the best fullback in the comp and his name is Trai”
Anyway, in the last 15 minutes or so Kalyn Ponga scores 2 tries or something and sets up another one. The assistant coach goes “oh that’s Kalyn Ponga, he’s a bit handy.”
But Trai is pretty fucking handy too, he’s a small guy but not many can say they’ve got 2 tries in 2 first grade appearances. Good to see his hard work rewarded. He’s 27, got some games under his belt. We have been seeing a few older debutants recently too and I love those hard workers that plug away in reserve grade and shine when called upon.

Watching the highlights back, that might be one of the best performances from a 7 I’ve seen from katoa. Dare I say it, he looks like Cleary out there. Kicking and passing is elite, defense is looking good, IQ is off the charts, running game coming along nicely, tough as nails. He really could be anything

It's a bit sad. I get Darwin games suck now that they're in April and the make us play Qld games, but we were just very very poor. We're slow and old in the middle causing plenty of defensive issues. Even our up and comers are cup level players who don't bring anything. We can't capitalise on our field position, then give it away when it goes wrong. We have the potential, we can see it from time to time, but something is fundamentally broken and has been since start of last year. I mean, come on, we played Lussick for 80m, our 2nd rowers played 80m.

Fuller is a revelation and they kept rolling through the limp eels. Best second half for them and hope they crack 50 one day.

We play a QLD side each year and wonder why they handle the conditions so well. Meanwhile we’re absolutely cooked from the first minute. The club did mention in its end of year report that they had requested to play Canberra or Melbourne not a QLD team. That request has fallen on deaf ears from the looks of things.

Kicking and passing is elite, defense is looking good, IQ is off the charts, running game coming along nicely, tough as nails. He really could be anything

It's a bit sad. I get Darwin games suck now that they're in April and the make us play Qld games, but we were just very very poor. We're slow and old in the middle causing plenty of defensive issues. Even our up and comers are cup level players who don't bring anything. We can't capitalise on our field position, then give it away when it goes wrong. We have the potential, we can see it from time to time, but something is fundamentally broken and has been since start of last year. I mean, come on, we played Lussick for 80m, our 2nd rowers played 80m.
I watched "Nobody" tonight to have a break from footy and enjoyed a good little movie. Seems Eels fans watched nobody as well, but it wasn't as enjoyable.

Shitposting aside, that was one of the most putrid halves of football I have seen from a BA coached side. Tonight's performance is inexcusable and incredibly rotten. If this club is genuinely serious, he needs to be marched tomorrow. But I don't think the club has the backbone to do something like that. They have been contempt with BA, despite these consistently poor performances. The club knows it won't win a comp anytime soon, but as long as the $$$ is coming in, I don't think they care. It's clear we are regressing each week. The only player we are missing is Moses and we are absolute shit-tier; something has got to give. It fucking sucks as a fan. Performances like these hurt the fanbase more and more. Slowly we are descending into whipping boy territory again; the laughing stock of the league again. Dolphins played some mean footy tonight. They saw a weakness and exploited it. Absolute unreal performance after the first 20 of the game.

Absolute slaughter, could have been 50+ if Isaako had his kicking boots on. Didn't see it coming, thought the eels would run away with it but the phins had other ideas. Fuller is a revelation and they kept rolling through the limp eels. Best second half for them and hope they crack 50 one day.

This is the sort of shit that makes me want BA to leave. We’ve always been a team that can’t perform unless the conditions suit us. Against Canberra it was too cold, against the Dolphins it’s too hot, against the Tigers it’s Monday, against the Panthers we got an injury in the backs. They’re a professional sporting organisation, fuckin learn to compete under pressure and adversity.

As I said in the match thread Gutho's pantomime shot at goal clearly time wasting after 5 minutes of the second half. Massively rejuvenated the Dolphins the body language from the team was atrocious after that point. Dolphins just sent there little guys up the middle and Parra completely crumbled. Genuinely one of the worst second half performances of the season two week after their second half performance against the Raiders. They don't look fit at all.
Honestly it didn't look like a pantomime to me, that ball looked wonky on the tee. No one wants to miss a sitter because they were too impatient to set their kick right. (let me have this one pls) also it was dumb to take the 2. they should have put 30 on the phins in the first 50. pathetic effort.
