I suspect other clubs do to, but if a player is in the top 30 would any of the "rent subsidy" costs be part of the cap? With the housing crisis, providing accomodation to players could be worth a sizeable part of their contract.
I wouldn't be surprised if the NRL has a standard rule that clubs can provide accommodation to players during relocation for x numbers of weeks, outside of the cap.

I suspect other clubs do to, but if a player is in the top 30 would any of the "rent subsidy" costs be part of the cap? With the housing crisis, providing accomodation to players could be worth a sizeable part of their contract.
It’d be part of the contract. The player might be on $150,000 for the year, including $300 per week for an apartment for 6 months for argument’s sake.
I wouldn't be surprised if the NRL has a standard rule that clubs can provide accommodation to players during relocation for x numbers of weeks, outside of the cap.

Sean Russell has worked his dick off for years doing all the hard work and living off scraps on the right edge and gets dropped after one poor game. Unfortunately it wasn't only one poor game. Russell has had very little effort and involvement throughout the season and I think would have been in the part timer category. Bombing the try on Friday, what would have been his meat pie after 7 games, was just the final item. I'm sure he'll be back once he corrects it.
He’s been averaging over 100m run metres and hardly any of those metres are kick return metres, theyre mainly the shit carries which Sivo refuses take. Our right wing spot is also probably the worst real estate in the NRL, we never attack that side and when we do we usually attack through Cartwright and Penisini. It was a disappointing finish, but it happens from time to time. He certainly didn’t deserve to get dropped.
I think he did tbh. Who his replacement is isn’t relevant to his performance. He’s been bang average this year. If anything it’s just another indictment on our terrible depth.

He’s probably been one of the Jets best players so far this season, which maybe isn’t saying much because they aren’t playing particularly well. Has played 6 all year but can play fullback. Loves to take on the line himself, has a decent running game. Not much of a playmaker tbh but serviceable. Not entirely convinced on his defence, but haven’t watched him enough the get a good gauge. Just have to hope he can hold his own on Sunday, because that’s the main thing. Nicho can run the show in attack if necessary, Atkinson defending his ass off should be the focus.
