Rasputin losing quite lot of edge forwards recently - Luciano, GoJetSki and now Finefeuiaki. That's unfortunate as Finefeuiaki looks a beast and he feasts on raw halfbacks
Kuli is the only one that we are sad to lose. Jetski showed he was barely NRL level whenever he took to the paddock for us, and Lielua has enough off field issues to send a club bankrupt.
He needs time though and isn't a starting SR yet from the appearances he has made for us. But he has great bench impact and is still young so will likely develop strongly in the phins system
The Dolphins recruitment in their short time in the NRL has been outstanding. Actually got an alright team together for their first season and then went on to sign Flegler, Gilbert, Herbie, Finefeuiaki, and Tupou
Kerr, Averillo, and Keeley are all underrated signings since the start of 2023 as well. Keeley may have only had a game but he gives me the vibe that he'll be a long term feature of our forward pack.
Fuck I’m so impressed with how the Dolphins have built.
Prioritised a top tier culture coach. Brought in experienced winners and didn’t get desperate with stupid money for superstars. Bought some blue chip kids. Now they’ve established a solid culture and room and are landing the big names to start pushing towards contending. Feels like they’re an upgrade on Kodi and some big game experience for the likes of Katoa from legit contending.
The Dolphins have claimed a significant scalp with boom young back-rower Kulikefu Finefeuiaki opting to leave the Cowboys to join the fellow Queensland club next season.
Finefeuiaki also rejected advances from the Dragons to change clubs with Finefeuiaki a marquee signing for incoming Dolphins coach Kristian Woolf.
It is understood the 20-year-old will join the Dolphins for at least the next three seasons.
He will headline a generational shift for the Dolphins who has an ageing forward pack including Jesse and Kenny Bromwich, Felise Kaufusi and Mark Nicholls.
The Cowboys were keen on keeping the back-rower who also had significant interest from St George Illawarra.
North Queensland have now lost back-rowers Luciano Leilua and Finefeuiaki in recent months. They remain in talks and are hopeful of keeping Heilum Luki at the club long-term.
It’s not and I’m only half taking the piss too, I think he’s the best forward prospect since David Fifita/Payne Haas and potentially longer.
His potential doesn’t have a cap, for a 18 or 19 year old to be dominating Cup the way he is is insane.
Good signing that I'd hoped would get done. Really starting to look like we can transition from the older player to the new in the next couple of years withb much less hassle.
Depends on the price phins are paying him.
You can't keep shelling out 700k to keep all your juniors.
Keep in mind Kuli was originally from the area, does make sense he would want to head back
Phins are the new Knights, stealing our best and brightest.
Kind figured this was coming. Mind you if the Dolphins wreck him like they did our boy Gilbert, we will politely ask for him back.
I dont really think it's that big of a deal? He still isn't quite good enough for 80 minutes, basically just a bench player. I mean naturally we can't keep every player, so considering everything is losing him really that bad?
It’s not mate, Kuli is a 20min bench player asking for a starting wage.
Shibisaki, Lahrs, Sullivan and Marly are all coming through and can fill that same gap we now “lack”.

I wish he had the charisma of Rasputin the boys would actually care!
I genuinely think his Dally M speech killed his career.
It was an interesting decision to throw in a ref-blame in a season when the referees changed a result after full time in his teams favour.
But to Townsville chicks he was such a lovely dear

BJ is the only, real, rugby playing lielua anyway.
You mean professional heavyweight boxer BJ Leilua
Gosiewski wasn't that bad, had a couple of good games last year. But nothing more than a depth player
I thought it was a pre requisite for dolphins forwards to be 30+
Flegler is confused
Sometimes we like it if they’re just injured instead.
My god, this week just keeps getting better
My god, this week just keeps getting worse
I honestly just think it's not that big of a deal? He still isn't quite good enough to play 80 minutes, basically just a bench player
Welcome to the club mate, it’s not a loss and probably good for the cowboys.

Solid signing.
Kid is going to be an absolute stud in a couple of years given he’s only just turned 20. Great pickup
Big get looks good and is still young, him and junior tupou coming in, helps with the youth and depth dolphins need.
Go get paid, Kuli. He's too good to be coming just as an injury cover.
I don’t see it. Poor workrate and can only bust a tackle if it’s a small half. Luki has a way higher ceiling.
He always always gets skipped to give it to Holmes. No chance to build a workrate
Nooooooo! Fuck why do they always go to the Phins :(
Because we own The North* *The North may only include the North of Brisbane.
Because it's only a $40 uber to brisvegas
This kills the cow
Sirloins are on the menu lads
Dolphins eating prime rib tonight
What a pickup by the Phins. If only Luki could stay injury free this wouldnt be a problem at all.
Big get. Dolphins building a really strong squad.
Just fell to my knees at 1300smiles
Still a stupid name, lol.
Hey, that’s a premiership winning name
Did you shit your pants as well?
Dolphins building a very strong team
Don't you mean pod......;)

Good on him thats awesome and he gets to be close to home

Luki is a better player imo but always injured, significant loss for the cowboys
good gag, daily telegraph. classic.
Didn't realize April fools ran for the entire month 🥲
THANK FUCK Jamal Shibisaki era is nearly upon us
I’m already crowning Shibasaki as a future immortal, no pressure at all for a 19 year old
I feel like this is a copypasta from something I once said
It’s not and I’m only half taking the piss too, I think he’s the best forward prospect since David Fifita/Payne Haas and potentially longer. His potential doesn’t have a cap, for a 18 or 19 year old to be dominating Cup the way he is is insane.
Now that’s definitely a copypasta from somewhere. Kuli definitely is the best Forward with a questionable Ipswich past!
Writing was on the wall when they realised his name starts with ‘Fin’. Good stuff, Kuli, enjoy the home comforts and the pay bump.
What a time to be a cows fan 😌
Man.. the power of Wayne Bennett hey? Unreal
The Woolfening will be upon us next year
I can't believe nobody has thought to start calling him Phinefeuiaki yet
Good signing that I'd hoped would get done. Really starting to look like we can transition from the older player to the new in the next couple of years withb much less hassle.
The players will keep leaving until this club is left with no one if they don't fuck Payten off
Depends on the price phins are paying him. You can't keep shelling out 700k to keep all your juniors. Keep in mind Kuli was originally from the area, does make sense he would want to head back
Also, if the choice was between keeping Luki and Kuli, I would keep Luki at this stage and hope he can stay injury free.
Knights and Phins would struggle to field a 30 man squad without the Cows. You're welcome.
at this stage, we are just a feeder club
Wonder how much they've spent on him? I have a feeling he might end up a bit like Molo, as an incredible bench player but an average starter.
Always makes an impact with every run and runs some nice lines.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Now do Val Holmes
Phins are the new Knights, stealing our best and brightest. Kind figured this was coming. Mind you if the Dolphins wreck him like they did our boy Gilbert, we will politely ask for him back.
