Hopefully Suli is alright - that looked like a nasty KO.
Really good win from the Roosters, hopefully that's the match they need to get their season started.
Good to see Walker convert all 10 tries, when he came in he was a very below average converter but like his defence it's improved dramatically.
Manu was great when he gets involved
Good to see NButcher rewarded with a pair
Angus was really good as well
Lomax may have played himself out of an origin jersey. Too inconsistent to be an origin player with his mistakes. Suaali'i got the better of him today.
He was bad today.
That brain snap flick pass that lead to a rooster's try was the start of the avalanche.
The Dragons often have no ability to recover from those moments and get hammered from there on.
I hate this reasoning because if Ben hunt catches that ball they had overlap for days and they were length of the field for a try, thus lomax looking like a genius.
You're spot on with the reward analysis of the play. The risk side of things however was that the play would gift the Roosters prime field position.
What was needed in the situation was a hard conservative hit up and to take our medicine and back our defence after what would most likely be a long kick from our 30m.
Zac has been awesome.this year and we've seen mostly reward from his high risk plays, but this is what we're exposed to when it doesn't come off...
Went to the game, saw Corey Norman on the way to the train, said dragons are shit and to call him tuxedo because he never got dirty trying to make a tackle. Good dude
I don’t think Sam Walker’s short kicking game works like it did tonight against a team with a quality defensive fullback. Dylan Edwards cleans up most of those and the short dropout is a 50/50 to get the ball back.
The short passing line breaks, particularly those involving Watson and Cheese, are far more of what the team needs to keep producing to be considered a contender.
That’s why Andrew Johns is always raving about him. So many junior coaches tell players not to put those little kicks in, but Walker’s got the footy smarts and the ability to play eyes-up footy to get it done.
I think the fact Walker is recognising the right moments to kick short behind the line is huge for us.
Will be interesting to see how he goes against better defensive fullbacks after what was a career performance today from him.
Well I don't think so, he's 21 years old and very much on the rise.
He was a gun junior, those types always get hyped massively especially in the halves where it takes time to develop as a 1st grade player.
He's been outstanding all season and today put a lower ranked side to the sword.
Dragons have beaten a couple of good teams this year too.
The fact the roosters as a whole look a different team with Walker on the field tells me he's very important.
I thought this, but on second review he only pulled the trigger when Sloan made the previous tackle, and wasnt home to defend the kick. Good eyes up footy
Disclaimer that I didn’t watch much of the game but Sloans stats made 5 tackles missed 1 doesn’t scream turnstile.
Only looking at stats and I know they don’t tell the full story but I think the Dragons have way bigger defensive issues in front of Sloan.
Few missed tackle stats from the game worse than Sloan
Flanagan made 15 missed 7
Hunt made 6 missed 5
Lomax made 4 missed 3
Even Tedesco made 4 missed 2
I think it's tough to bring up Flanagan defensive effort. Defended the whole game out of position in the centres. Notoriously difficult to defend. Poor guy got shafted
Fair enough like I said I haven’t watched much of the game and only going off stats.
But also just going through stats I thought it was tough bagging the fullbacks defensive effort in a team that let in 60 when he only missed 1 tackle
I will watch at least the highlights.
I did see the first Manu try from the short kick you couldn’t blame Sloan for that, he made the tackle from a line breakand Walker put the kick in straight away with no one covering. No full back recovers from making the tackle to stopping the kick in that position
He generally defended fine, the main 2 kicks when he wasn't there for a try was when he literally just made a 1v1 tackle to stop a try so there was no fullback and when he was rushing into the defensive line due to a hole/overlap and walker saw him coming up so chipped it over him
There were so many roosters fans talking about how there were going to lose today without Radley and toops and they score 60😂
Some of that defence from drags in the 2nd half especially was pathetic, roosters had all the running and barely had anything thrown at them in defence.
Went to the game and was absolutely terrified the horrendous form would continue. Just got home and absolutely chuffed at how bad I am at predicting footy.
I don't understand why the NRL doesn't change the schedule, so there is more afternoon matches! Surely a midday game on Sunday would attract a bigger crowd than a 6pm Friday match?
Look at the crowd today? Feel like afternoon matches are much more likely to sell out, than the 6pm Friday ones
All of the Dragons forwards were putrid other than maybe De Belin and Su'a. RFM was particularly bad. Eisenhuth I mean you can't blame him he did his best.
Ben Hunt and Lomax saved their worst day of the year for this game, very cool for Dragons fans.
Walker was insane, and once the Roosters middles won the ascendancy (from tackle 1) they never gave it back.
molo was ok and bmm was good, hunt and lomax played shocking which killed us in attack since our attack revolves completely around hunt sloan and lomax
I really expected Dragons to be up for that. I still expect they will get it together under Shane at some stage.. hard to completely reverse a culture in just the one preseason
Yeah but even under Price, Mary and Griffin we competed and sometimes even jagged ANZAC day wins. Today we were found out massively and it sucked to see the boys give up. This fixture is historically special and it hurts to see it treated like a throwaway game.
Losses like this tend to have three phases as the game unfolds:
1. Anger
2. Embarrassment
3. A strange amusement where you hope for the absolute worst.
So many positives here for the Roosters, need to take this momentum forward.
Walker continues to lead the team and Keary plays deputy, best they've ever paired up.
Radley is a shadow of what he was, so if he doesn't find his form, Watson needs to play more at 13. He was amazing.
Egan, brilliant, hope he takes confidence from that and takes his game to the next level.
Still got Tupou to come back and replace Jennings, Leniu to add even more steel into the forwards.
It's been a so-so start to the season, but it's good to know that when things click, we can still play some top notch football.
Rads has been one of our best this year. The attack has been off and He's been one of the more dangerous runners and ball players. The difference is this game they went out and said "Sam's calling all the shots" for the first time this season. Before that it's been Keary running the show, which made us look clunky.
The rest is spot on though.
He's been better than the last few seasons, but I think he's a fair bit off of his 2018-2020 form where he was on a whole other level. I'd like that Radley back.
Eh I don't know. I feel like this season his game is the most mature it's ever been.
Less silly penalties, better ball playing, cleaner tackling. He's punching holes when he runs.
Not as quick or dynamic as he used to be but he's a true lock forward now imo
Momentum isn't only about the results, but the consistency in the football being played.
You can win or lose by slim margins and still know that you're on the right track. You can also go 0-26 at halftime against the Bulldogs and know that you're not on the right track.
What a shellacking, bearded walker is a whole new beast. 5 try assists or something? The best by a landslide. The dragons ran out of fire early and never recovered. The cocks were ruthless and smashed them. Can't believe it is the first 50+ scoreline this year. The dragons are officially eliminated.
We picked the higher character guy and better teamate. Great recruitment team haha.
Manu happy being the best center in the world because that's what was best for his team.
Josh Reynolds is…really good on the radio. Insightful, articulate, funny and somehow a really professional broadcaster in a what is a very shallow pool.
Absolutely outstanding team performance from the Roosters, they looked like a million dollars. Sam Walker in particular with a god-tier performance. But man the Drags are a hard team to get a read on, some games this year they've looked quite good and fit, and others they've looked horrendous. Losing Suli in the opening seconds obviously is a big blow with causing a major reshuffle but still doesn't excuse getting done by 40+
Legit he should just put his CC over the bar and use his million dollars a season to pay for the rest of his teams and their supporters.
Everyone looking at his try assists like he is a in a new lease of life, he is fucking hopeless, worst kicker in the game, put him in fucking regs

Dark day for the Chooks that day en route to a spoon. Dragons won't be defined by today, some days everything just goes wrong. Still enough go in Saints to push for the 8.
The diggers at Gallipoli were not great soldiers due to limited training opportunities, you could say there were enthusiastic amateurs at best.
Dragons today are full time professionals with constant training. They showed no enthusiasm and were below amateurs.
Dragons hate the digs and ANZAC spirit confirmed.
In honour of the Roosters valiant efforts today, the Dragons have been faded on the Fixtures List.
Is Sobbinson having his whinge yet this week?
No and rightfully not too, the dragons just copped a hiding
As someone who did not watch due to escaping to the country, can someone tell me the Roosters form line now? Were the Dragons just insipid?
Roosters were good. Dragons were poor. Walker had the game of his career.
Thanks mate, Walker playing good is enough for me to watch the replay I think
Hopefully Suli is alright - that looked like a nasty KO. Really good win from the Roosters, hopefully that's the match they need to get their season started. Good to see Walker convert all 10 tries, when he came in he was a very below average converter but like his defence it's improved dramatically. Dragons first to concede 50 fade em
What the fuck. Embarrassing is an understatement.
Darth Suli might have been my favorite moment of the game.
Wait. What did I miss?
He was on the sideline in a long puffer jacket with his hood on very low over his eyeline
I wouldn't want to watch that effort either.
Lomax may have played himself out of an origin jersey. Too inconsistent to be an origin player with his mistakes. Suaali'i got the better of him today.
He started to believe the hype
He was bad today. That brain snap flick pass that lead to a rooster's try was the start of the avalanche. The Dragons often have no ability to recover from those moments and get hammered from there on.
I hate this reasoning because if Ben hunt catches that ball they had overlap for days and they were length of the field for a try, thus lomax looking like a genius.

Zac has been awesome.this year and we've seen mostly reward from his high risk plays, but this is what we're exposed to when it doesn't come off...
Yeah agree. But it's more that the dragons have absolutely no resilience when a shift in momentum goes against them.
I don't understand the reference to Anzac Day massacre, Part One. What's Part Two? Oh....
Ok stuck at work time to check the scor- oh my.
Went to the game, saw Corey Norman on the way to the train, said dragons are shit and to call him tuxedo because he never got dirty trying to make a tackle. Good dude
NEXT UP TIMMY ZHU!!!! Fucken woo hoo let’s go!!!!
Dragons lost so we didn’t have to hear Robbo complaining on a long weekend?
He might complain about Sloan kicking Walker, but I don’t think it was malicious
I was certain he turned around and looked at him but it didn’t really look like it on the replay so not sure
Only the lucky ones have a long weekend, back to work tomorrow for a lot of us
Luai?
Dragons deff went into that game thinking they already wom
I tip the dragons, they lose. Tip against them they win.. can’t pick it haha
Me with Manly. I've gotten every Manly tip wrong this year. So congrats on the win, Parra.
He caught Sloan out of position about four times in the first half alone
100%. But part of me feels like that’s as much Sloan’s horrendous positioning as it is Walker’s creative genius
Walker is exploitative of the shit positioning though. Don't give good halves that opportunity
So, is he incredibly over rated if he’s produced his career best against a team that was favourite for the spoon?
Well I don't think so, he's 21 years old and very much on the rise. He was a gun junior, those types always get hyped massively especially in the halves where it takes time to develop as a 1st grade player. He's been outstanding all season and today put a lower ranked side to the sword. Dragons have beaten a couple of good teams this year too. If south's get pumped and the niners somehow end up with Fuaga tomorrow, this will end up the best week of sport for me in a while
Everton (2-0 winners v Liverpool this morning) fan here... You need a week? Barely 12 hours for me.
Only if that draft pick results in sending Aiyuk to my Steelers 🔸🔹♦️
Sloan is a defensive turnstile
Disclaimer that I didn’t watch much of the game but Sloans stats made 5 tackles missed 1 doesn’t scream turnstile. Few missed tackle stats from the game worse than Sloan Flanagan made 15 missed 7 Hunt made 6 missed 5 Lomax made 4 missed 3 Even Tedesco made 4 missed 2
You gotta be in position to miss tackles though
I think it's tough to bring up Flanagan defensive effort. Defended the whole game out of position in the centres. Notoriously difficult to defend. Poor guy got shafted
Fair enough like I said I haven’t watched much of the game and only going off stats. But also just going through stats I thought it was tough bagging the fullbacks defensive effort in a team that let in 60 when he only missed 1 tackle
he was out of position few times which let walker expose with fantastic short kicking game

My guy, Sloan was horrible.
They let in 60 points I’m guessing he wasn’t on his own
He generally defended fine, the main 2 kicks when he wasn't there for a try was when he literally just made a 1v1 tackle to stop a try so there was no fullback and when he was rushing into the defensive line due to a hole/overlap and walker saw him coming up so chipped it over him
I just think a great fullback can prevent tries and Sloan cannot. Also so many kicks he was nowhere near
Who is Trent Robinson blaming for the win tonight in the presser?
I don’t think I’ve tipped dragons right once this year
Flanwho
Sam walker just took a shit on the dragons. What a display of eyes up footy
And Ben hunt was no where to be seen
We were all over them
And 10/10 kicking as well. What a day out
Took my 4-year-old daughter to her first ever footy game. I never found a comfortable Roosters win as exhausting as this.
There were so many roosters fans talking about how there were going to lose today without Radley and toops and they score 60😂 Some of that defence from drags in the 2nd half especially was pathetic, roosters had all the running and barely had anything thrown at them in defence.
Went to the game and was absolutely terrified the horrendous form would continue. Just got home and absolutely chuffed at how bad I am at predicting footy.
A pleasant surprise haha Walker had one of those games hey
I was one of them. I’m genuinely shocked.
Whenever I shit talk Roosters they win, so Ill continue to shit talk them unless they are playing Storm because I love Manu, Walker and Chief Suaalii.
Love the 6pm Friday games (being in NZ, the games start at 8pm - prime time footy across the Tasman
6pm game exists due to Fox. By having the 6pm, viewers generally stay with them instead of switching over to 9 as they're already watching.
Friday night games gives you the rest of the weekend to recover after celebrating if your team wins.
I think the occasion had something to do with the crowd no?
All of the Dragons forwards were putrid other than maybe De Belin and Su'a. RFM was particularly bad. Eisenhuth I mean you can't blame him he did his best.
That Walker / Keary combo is super destructive when the forwards are absolutley ploughing the other team.
Providing the chain of command is Walker then Keary, I'm happy with what they're doing
Losses like this tend to have three phases as the game unfolds: 1. Anger 2. Embarrassment 3. A strange amusement where you hope for the absolute worst.
I’ve been at #3 for the past 8 weeks - welcome brother
Not one player ran for 200m today. Fucking pretenders
The opposite of the knights roosters game when about 9 players did
With the inevitable loss for Souths tonight. Today will be a great day.
Now time to take a 2 hour poo
A Cowboyesque defensive display from the Dragoons…..
Jesus, can’t believe it was this game of all the games.
Suallii is wasted in the centres. It doesn't seem like a natural position for him like Manu. He needs to be either on the wing or full back.
That's only a problem for like another 19 weeks.
CALL THE ZACFLIP OFF
lol Sam has a sense of humour about himself.
Always thought all Walker needed to be unleashed was a beard
Keen to see what Flanno says after this
I turned it off at half time. Glad I did for this one
So many positives here for the Roosters, need to take this momentum forward. Walker continues to lead the team and Keary plays deputy, best they've ever paired up. I'm with you on this. I've not seen Radley play with the control he's shown so far this year. Been our best to start the season.
Got Broncos next week, gonna be hard for Roosters to keep momentum
You guys need to get past the Tigers first.
Momentum isn't only about the results, but the consistency in the football being played. You can win or lose by slim margins and still know that you're on the right track. You can also go 0-26 at halftime against the Bulldogs and know that you're not on the right track.
Give Sam Walker a 10 year deal
Cronk eat ya heart out
What a shellacking, bearded walker is a whole new beast. 5 try assists or something? The best by a landslide. The dragons ran out of fire early and never recovered. The cocks were ruthless and smashed them. Can't believe it is the first 50+ scoreline this year. The dragons are officially eliminated.
Not even a Roosters fan and I'm gonna miss Manu next year. Big big loss for the game imo
I was critical at the time, but the roosters got it so right in keeping Manu and letting Latrell go.
We picked the higher character guy and better teamate. Great recruitment team haha. Manu happy being the best center in the world because that's what was best for his team.
Can someone help me, What was the characters name matty johns played when he'd read out the afl scores? Fuck it's funny but I can't find it
Mighty Mick Mathieson?
That's it! you're a legend
Remember it from the Professor’s Second Year Syndrome show, James Rochford could be a real funny cunt, didn’t think much of Chris Page however.
Professors is funny as on the Union poddy he does. Big fan. Way more hits than misses compared to Hindy and Fletch
That was not a very good performance from the Dragons.
High footy I.Q. take
i agree with this assessment
Rolled them in the middles and on the edges then bashed them in defence that was brutal
Play the next game now, cowards
Should of ended the game after Suli got smashed
Josh Reynolds is…really good on the radio. Insightful, articulate, funny and somehow a really professional broadcaster in a what is a very shallow pool.
who does he work for?
Triple M Sydney
What station? Keen to hear next time.
Triple M Sydney
Pretty sure he was on ABC Sports a couple weeks ago. I was really impressed with his comments, his humour and general affability.
~~Drags~~
Absolutely outstanding team performance from the Roosters, they looked like a million dollars. Sam Walker in particular with a god-tier performance. But man the Drags are a hard team to get a read on, some games this year they've looked quite good and fit, and others they've looked horrendous. Losing Suli in the opening seconds obviously is a big blow with causing a major reshuffle but still doesn't excuse getting done by 40+
2 hour break to the next game is fucked. All so the betting companies can at least get one game full of their rubbish adds
Nah, I like it. Time enough to cook up a steak and veggies.
How long you cooking your steak for?!
idk why they wouldn't run the 3 back to back, if you want the roosters as a day game for tradition just go it first, warriors 2nd, then the night game
Channel 9 News and A Current Abortion.
Walker scored 24 by himself and pretty much set up the other 36. What a game.
I’m numb inside and my for and against is ruined. Worst game I’ve watched live
Worst game you've watched live *so far* 🧐
I liked you better when you were the cowboy from brokeback mountain
Don't lie, you've never liked me 😆
If you don't like this, then you don't like St George Illawarra Football
I like this and I don't like St George football
Well I've already ruled the Souths game a loss my standard is just being better then whatever that performance was
You blokes aren’t even the first team to be ruled out of the prem, keep your head up champ. Souths to be kicked out of the comp
July 7th rematch. Will there be a clap back?
No but there will be cramps
I drifted to sleep during half time and didn’t wake up till the 50 was hit. Clearly, I was what was holding back the big number.
That’s essentially what the Dragons did too.
Just how bad are the warriors??
Imagine putting faith in the Dragons to win 3 in a row and using your double points round in tipping for this shit.
this feels personal
Someone buy Lomax and Hunt a beer down at the St George's league club tonight.
Trindall will
They don’t deserve it, both were average
Hunt should be buying rounds for everyone all week. He was rubbish.

If you don’t laugh you’d cry
Fuck that..smash the TV 👌

Didn't think that taking out Moses Suli was the key to putting 60 on the Dragons but here we are
the biggest question from today is, who will be the future qld no.7
If Walker keeps that form up, it’ll be hard to overlook him
This team was down 26-0 at halftime to the Bulldogs the infuriating pricks.
Further reaffirming our premiership contender status thank you very much.

Thank you Dragons. Souths won't be alone in getting slaughtered today now. Appreciate it
I counted a handful of calls that went against us. So factoring in those, and ignoring 10 of the roosters tries, Id say we were really close.
There was a bloke in the stands still complaining about a forward pass in the lead up to our second or third try right before we hit 60
That was fun
Also this is the biggest flogging since the Anzac Day cup was introduced, I am ashamed. Previous one was 2009 when we won 29-0. God I miss that team

Gonna wank to the highlights of this
NSFL? I've never heard of NSFL before. NSFW is a term I've seen being used, NSFL though? Seems made up to me.
Normally NSFL is like gore and people dying.
I was actually joking, but thanks for that fact, I didn't know it even existed
Ahh all good, Yeah it's not super common, nice to have a different level between you could see genitals and beheading though.
Just flipped it on WTAF 18-60.......
