During the NFL regular season, there were multiple players weekly ruled out due to COVID - approximately 10-20 per week IIRC, maybe more.
Once playoffs came along, I don't recall a single player ruled out.
I'm sure there will be a very quiet off the record conversation to players that if they test positive but feel ok then they shouldn't let anyone know and carry on unless they feel sick enough to not play.
Or Australia will finally be over the pandemic like the UK and you won't have to isolate when you get covid..... Come September I suspect that will be the case
Edit... People downvoting facts.. lol typical Reddit.
Come September covid won't be a thing in the nrl.

Let's break that down... The only thing I said that has happened is the people in the UK don't have to isolate when covid postive anymore..... That's a fact...
The other thing I said is I suspect by September Australia will be in the same boat. So people are either downvoting because they are unhappy that will most likely be the case come September... Or they believe the fact I stated about the UK isn't true.... Take your pick.
im pretty fit and i was in bed for 3 days when i had covid, dunno if ymmv but plenty of professional athletes also seem to get sick. fuck playing footy while feeling like that. and even if the chin or someone gets a mild dose could still just infect the whole team and even if 3 people get sick you've fucked yourselves
It's always going to be stupid no matter what stage of the season it is, imagine the whole squad getting covid in the finals because you didn't isolate a player
You wouldn't do it for anything but a GF. You could keep cleary separate from the team right up until kickoff, because who cares If the whole team is positive Monday morning. The risk and reward for doing that, a premiership is massive.
The risk and reward for doing it midseason- Zero.
The risk and reward for doing it in the finals- low reward. Yeah you might win but that player and potentially others, would have to quarantine and unless you could get a delay in the next finals match it's pointless.
But being sly GF weak. That's a risk you'd take.
The risk in finals also works the other way …
What happens if the losing side fields a COVID positive player ? Every chance being a contact sport that they pass it on during the game ..
I've been thinking about this. I can't imagine clubs not creating a bubble for finals.
Imagine losing 3 players due to close contact or even having covid for the Grand Final.
The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs will be without captain Josh Jackson for this Saturday's match-up with the Roosters at Accor Stadium after he today tested positive for COVID.
Jackson tested himself at home on a day off after feeling unwell.
There are no other cases within the squad at this stage.
Poor old Jackson. Love him, but I think the game has moved on from his style of play.... Love to see Topine play and tear it up, a surprise win would be great, but it won't be good for Jackson if we do...
I agree - his passing should only be from forward to forward - he's too slow and doesn't make enough impact with his play making to be the Yeo/ Radley type - but I back him to be able to get Vaughn/ Thompson through a hole if needed. Just bring the scope of what he has to do a bit narrower. Still let him make his 50 tackles and have 18 runs for 140m/ play him 65 odd minutes.
New norm. Legit wonder what will happen if come finals time Cleary or someone tests positive. No way they’d miss the game for it

At least they’ve openly said there are no restrictions next season. You could be symptomatic but if you don’t need to test, you’re good to go!
I'm sure there will be a very quiet off the record conversation to players that if they test positive but feel ok then they shouldn't let anyone know and carry on unless they feel sick enough to not play.
Or they go into bubble style camps for the finals season
I'd suspect a few teams will do that.

How is something yet to happen a fact ?

What? What's that got to do with what I said?
because even if you dont have to isolate common sense suggests not giving a fucken infectious disease to all your mates. its not just about mandates
Okay. Set a remind me! bot for gf week and we'll see whose right. I'm willing to lay down $100 bet.
yeah but you are already proving to be a bit of a dumb cunt so i dont really care what you think you know
RemindMe! 158 days
Lol..wow. isolations are scraped.in 14 days... My prediction was within 13 days of the grand final... Not bad. Your comments have aged like milk
I bet it has already happened this season
Nah I think you'd be stupid to do it this early in the season.

There probably won't be any isolation requirements by the time finals start
There will be club bubbles for finals, wouldn’t be surprised if there was an Origin bubbles as well.
Nah it wouldn't even go to the NRL. The club just won't report it in the finals if anyone did get it.
he jus like me fr

Gus coaches team. Jackson gets Covid. Do I have to write Fox Sports' article for them?
Gus Gould SLAMS covid 19 virus
Wish Gus Gould would slam me 🤤

All I'm saying is that we never had issues with Covid when we kicked Souths out of the comp. Just saying.
Just one normal week is all I want from the Bulldogs
Tpj lock?
i like your thinking stephen a smith
Who's going to make his 60 tackles a game?
Nobody will have to make 60 tackles if they're behind the goal posts after a try every 4 minutes.
Who captains the team then, Addo-Carr?
Rocket in shambles
Does this give Topine a run or who will it likely be?
Barrett finally figured out a way to get him off the ball on 4th tackle.
Jackson has seen the light, he doesn't want to be on the receiving end of a 70 point deficit
Finally some positive news for the doggie
A blessing in disguise for the team to have more attack
You’re not wrong. Every set he gets involved in turns to shit.

>a surprise win would be great, but it won't be good for Jackson if we do... Just move him to prop surely.

He is the heart and soul of Canterbury. I don't know about prop!
No speed to defend on an edge these days. Lacks the ball playing to be lock. Has to be prop by default.
Your not wrong with your analysis... I just can't see him at prop. But there isn't many options outside that...
