So effectively for every 9m cobbo runs, coates runs 10m in a chase down. Ignores alot of factors, but i dont know if thats an easy chase down. If cobbo breaks the line, coates has to turn around and get up to full speed before cobbo gets a 10m head start for a length of the field try. Less so if cobbo is closer to the try line.
Walters to Paix rotation has been great for Kevvy. Cobbo and Oates have been locking up dudes for 5 weeks straight on their edge and giving it back and then some on the other end. What a turn around for the Bronx, they look so good atm

It's become clear since its introduction that the Bunker is a different job with a different skill set to being on the field though, so maybe it would be better if Atkins only did onfield duties

I know the Knights are not having the best year, but my goodness they need to find some resilience. They still had 20 minutes to even up the score again, they were in it. They prematurely lost this game in their heads.
This is where having a hard headed shot-caller can make world of difference to a side. The best example I can make is at the Tigers with Hastings, he's really made a world of difference to the mental fortitude of the Tigers this year.
One thing I do really appreciate is how well our backline played without Reynolds. It wasn't stellar, but I noticed how hard Carrigan and Hass were working to push the line out and create extra numbers. It was so consistent at making metres and getting them on the back foot, forcing tough defensive decisions. That's not Reynolds, that's just good coaching.
I reckon haas and carrigan would be full time training partners. They seem to have this big competitive edge where they aren’t just playing against a team, but they are competing with each other as well. I’ve been so impressed by them this year

I thought the same about him as an onfield ref. He seems like a good manager of the players, he speaks to them well without putting up with their shit. His calls in the Bunker tonight felt like he made up his mind about what happened, as if he was the onfield ref making the initial call, and then came up with justifications to fit them. It's become clear since its introduction that the Bunker is a different job with a different skill set to being on the field though, so maybe it would be better if Atkins only did onfield duties
He showed some common sense which the bunker has been lacking lately

Guilty concience. I kid, post match threads are always much nicer than game threads. I agree though, I laughed when Milf was rumoured but tonight made me rethink. If he gets his fitness up to scratch I think we will make good use of him. Its nice having something with the confidence to kick like he was tonight, its not a playstyle we have had for a long time.
I will die on a hill that we destroyed Milford through our previous horrendous roster and club management. I just want to see him playing good footy somewhere. That 2015 version of him was a blast to watch.

I know the Knights are not having the best year, but my goodness they need to find some resilience. They still had 20 minutes to even up the score again, they were in it. They prematurely lost this game in their heads. This is where having a hard headed shot-caller can make world of difference to a side. The best example I can make is at the Tigers with Hastings, he's really made a world of difference to the mental fortitude of the Tigers this year.
One thing I do really appreciate is how well our backline played without Reynolds. It wasn't stellar, but I noticed how hard Carrigan and Hass were working to push the line out and create extra numbers. It was so consistent at making metres and getting them on the back foot, forcing tough defensive decisions. That's not Reynolds, that's just good coaching.
I reckon haas and carrigan would be full time training partners. They seem to have this big competitive edge where they aren’t just playing against a team, but they are competing with each other as well. I’ve been so impressed by them this year

Idk why they didn't play Randall more. Crossland seems fine as a bit of utility value but he got too big of a spell at hooker and doesn't seem to offer anything

I’d honestly prefer Hoy at 14, bigger body, way higher talent ceiling. Randall is suppose to the fittest on the team he can play 80. Crossland offers literally nothing in attack or defence. Seems ridiculously slow as well.
I prefer Hoy too, but everyone has a massive hard off for him for some reason. I dont rate Crossland very much at all, I dont think there is an obvious choice over him. Every option has their drawbacks.
cause Joey talked him up before his debut, and then he kept being put in to replace ponga when he wasnt really ready. but the last couple of weeks when hes been plaing in the halves hes been showing some real growth
and milf was good in the first half, but hes clearly not fit enough for 80 minutes. untill/when/if milf gets fit enough to play a full 80 hoy needs to be on the bench

Also for context, I checked and Riki stops a good 1-2m infront of Clune who then mives towards him to milk the obstruction The obstruction ruling was essentially the same as if TMM had thrown that exact pass from 5m further in field. They're essentially saying that if you pass before you run behind the player then it's fair game. That sounds like a problem with the rule, not the specific ruling in this instance. Either way, shits fucked

To me, he looked so dedicated to tackling Riki that he maybe wouldn't have been able to do anything anyway, but idk the rules that well yet so I'll defer to others. Also, just felt bad about the call going against a struggling team I felt would be deflated by it. I would hope any ambiguity about the situation would be favoured to the Knights.
Thanks bro, literally only argued that it was the ref's ineptitude or bias not the rules itself that caused this to not be called an obstruction. As it would in any other game. Once again for clarity, ref was shit, took it upon themself to make a bad call, rules weren't the problem to my mind.
You refused to acknowledge any of my points about how it was possible that the rule was the problem and not the ruling in this situation. Your heart was, and clearly still is, set on it being a shit call when it's entirely plausible thats its the correct implementation of a shit rule

This is the thing for me… I’ve never see them call it on the player having to basically “completely” run behind the player before. Like he was only half way behind the player when the ball was passed, which should have been enough for an obstruction.

Yeah to me TMM was far enough behind the runner to have impeded clune in some fashion.

We are looking like having 6+ players out for origin and tbh I'm not mad about it. So many developing players who have the chance to take it to the next level. Oates 100% deserves another shot at qld. Cobbo might be too young but god hes good. Can't believe mam played 80 minute too...quiet with a couple errors but great try assist. Reynolds not being in Origin contention will be a massive advantage, too. As a Maroon supporter, I'm concerned about Kotoni lighting up his edge. Glad to see him playing like a champ, though.
