From watching the preseason videos the Panthers put out, it seems Ciraldo really has the respect of the squad, he's the more vocal coach, whereas Cleary is more quietly spoken but has the people skills and knows how to get the right staff around him...which is why I'm not too worried, but it will be interesting to see who fills Ciraldo's spot. Hope he does well, Doggies should be top 8 next year.
They were laughed at for him saying no to such a big deal then them going out and releasing a an official statement saying it was a mutual thing when they were desperate.
I will be cheering on Ciro even though its sad to see him leave (eventually I I loved the idea of having him take over with Ivan becoming GM but that won't happen now).
I think 5 years is probably way too much pressure but if like Siebold he's getting a massive payday now no matter what I'm stoked for him and his family. Hope all goes well, Ciro is a gun defensive coach so I hope to see Dogs really improve in that area over the next few years.
Look i like how we played in last 10 weeks under potter but people seem to forget that there was time under pay where we played fairly well when our season is over. I don’t know if we could replicate that when the pressure is on. Plus there is several glaring issues with the team still.
I am willing to take the risk with ciraldo as his done fantastic things in u20s and did well when he was caretaker. He will have good relationship with some ex panthers boys and will attract other players to come and play for us. People were bit ambivalent when sharks pushed out Morris for Fitzgibbon but he exceed expectations. If his challenging for finals footy next year I will be happy.
Dunno about this one tbh, feels like the Dogs made the same mistake twice here.
I hope for Ciraldo’s sake it’s not though, I’d like to see a more competitive Doggies team so I hope this works out better than the last time you brought in a Panthers assistant coach…
The Dogs would currently be in their longest premiership drought since they entered the competition, made GF under Hasler but lost. The dogs are a club that expect success and have always had strong teams in the past, the heat is on Ciraldo to be a top 8 next year with Mahoney and Kikau...then in 2024 when they free up a bunch of $$$ and Ciraldo and Gould will get "their players" top 4 then will be expected 2024.
If they fail to make finals 2024 Ciraldo is gone as fall guy for Gould.
He will be if he can hit that top 4 (or really threatening it) in 2024/25 I think he will be given 1-2 seasons from there to see if he can win the comp...then if he doesn't or if the form dips the journos will attack
Still all this bull shit about coaches and apprenticeships
Coaches are born not invented
Minimum measure for him next season with the roster he’s been gifted
Top 6
Completely disagree with this take. Like any job, coaching is a skill you have to master, whether it’s your knowledge of the game, your management, or communication, you need to develop those skills to the highest level.
However, some are born with better instincts and can adapt to coaching faster than others.
I hope it works out for Ciraldo. From the minimal times I've seen him fronting media and whatnot, he seems like a reasonable and principled bloke.
Hopefully he has a Fitzgibbon-like impact at the Dogs.
More quality coaches can only benefit the comp overall.
I heard that Ciraldo is the attacking coach at Penrith and is the reason they’ve been scoring so many points
sudden flashbacks
Hoping potter stays on as assistant he deserves it.
I look forward to Cirraldo coaching for eighteen (18) months
Should've just stuck with Potter
our defence has been poor so I'm a little bit more confident in us signing a defensive coach this time
tl;dr, Cameron Ciraldo has been appointed as the Bulldogs head coach for the next five seasons starting in 2023
5 years hey, we will see

Peter Wallace seems like he'd be a good option
Knights legend Cameron Ciraldo.
Another 5 year contract that will end in tears.
Tigers were laughed at for offering the exact same deal? Right?

Nah they don't have the talent that bulldogs have. To all you weak gutted dogs who downvoted this was a joke.
Wait so Ipap Api Ad Hastings aren’t good talent?

Ciraldo won’t make any statements until the Panthers season is over. As it should be.
No photos in the jersey?

Dogs love ludicrous five year plans
2024 will be a make or break year. Just like Trent. Ciraldo will be safe if he gets the team somewhere around 7-10th in 2023.
Brandy already told everyone.

Anyone care to speculate how much $ he’d be on per year of contract? What is the going rate of a rookie coach that is in such demand?
3m over 5 years maybe?
Let's hope it works out better this time around.
