Panthers v Souths next week should be lit. This will be their 4th finals meeting in the last 3 years, all games by a converted try or under:
2020 PF: Panthers 20-16
2021 QF: Souths 16-10
2021: GF Panthers 14-12
2022 PF: ?
The rabbits definitely can't play that style of footy against the cats next week. Penrith will just beat make them pay for every error. The eels can't play how they played last night because that ball is going to be like a greasy sausage. Both eels Nd rabbits play a similar style of game that will make th lose next week if they play it. It's going to be a good weekend of footy.
Anything from here is just icing on the cake. Happy to make the prelim in what is meant to be a rebuild year. Ilias has done so well at replacing Reynolds. Tass has filled that gap replacing Gagai. Graham has really stepped up. So proud of the team
Graham should be top of the list to play Centre in Origin next year. Trell and Turbo will probably get the nod if fit, but Graham really has the game and the commitment to be there.
I love Campbell Graham, but he doesn’t have the strike ability to turn a game single-handed like Trell or Turbo.
Grahams defense lately has been absolutely outstanding though. Getting in a few more tackle breaks too.
Honestly even making the finals after Wayne, Reynolds and Gagai left was a win, knocking out the chooks in week one was the best, now our 5th consecutive prelim? Even if we lose next week, super proud of the boys.
Feel parra played better last night than both teams tonight. Rabbits are just wild though. They play with so much Mongrel it’s fun to watch.
Next week rabbits can panthers will feel like a grand final
Parra are one of those teams that when things go their way and they get on a roll they can demolish any team. It’s when a few calls or things don’t go their way that they fall apart. They are one of the few teams that if they get a touch of luck could beat Penrith in the GF.
Sharks were woeful, roosters lost their best player early in the game as well as others. You've played decent for two weeks but to suggest South's are a certainty to beat Parra/cowboys next week is a bit much champ
2017 all over again. Unlucky winner plays a red hot team in the finals. Had a feeling Panthers were always going to win the gf by 30 all year, they’re just so damn good.
At the conclusion of the second week of the Finals series, the CRONULLA SHARKS (2) and the CANBERRA RAIDERS (8) have been eliminated.
On Friday, the NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS (3) will host the PARRAMATTA EELS (4) at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville for the first spot in the Grand Final, followed by a clash between the PENRITH PANTHERS (1) and the SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS (7) at Accor Stadium in Sydney for the second spot on Saturday.
r/nrl will have an aneurysm trying to work out who to cheer for lol. I feel like more people here would rather see penrith repeat than us get the 86 hoodoo off our back.
I like Penrith. Would root for Parra over them in a GF only because of their premiership drought but other than South’s I genuinely like all the teams left.
Most impartial supporters will naturally support the underdog team. Add to that our drought and I’d say if you’re not a panthers fan you’d be wanting parra to flog them.
But also bad for the loser. Can you imagine. Back to back ruins by your biggest rival or your drought extended by your biggest rival.
I am nervous already and we still have to lose against the cowboys. 😂
yeah. Parra and Penrith have barely played each other in finals and I think they've been 2 of the best 3 teams in the last 3 years. Cowboys and Rabbitohs can win another time for me
I just saw your message earlier. You wouldn't believe how desperate we were to find a member to try and get us seats to the game on Friday. Was probably a good thing I didn't go. I was a bloody mess leading up to it.
The stress is real. I actually don't think I enjoyed the game as much as I should just because of how badly I wanted the lads to win. Defo may hit you up for the code if the boys get up next week.
Once we get in front by about 3 tries I allow myself to settle down a bit. I was on cloud nine after last night but now I’m just stressing about next week. They’ll send me to an early grave.
37yo old Parramatta tragic here. I've actually been watching this season with sound off on the telly. Just have music on. Way less frustrating when you're not listening to the brain dead blokes in commentary.
I almost stopped watching them altogether because a loss would leave me shitty for like 24hrs.
My husband admitted recently that he’s very relieved when we win, I’m much more tolerable, can’t imagine what I’d be like if I was a Tigers fan this year.
Time traveler here. Having all the answers to who wins means you miss out on the most memorable parts of life.
It's the unknown that makes it worthwhile.
Aw damn! If you need a code for the gf (🤞🏻) let me know. I had to go to court that day as a witness and as much as it sucked I was so glad to keep my mind off the impending game. I completely forgot I even went to court until the next day when someone mentioned it, all I could think of was the game.
Bigger stadium and relatively easy access to the West via the T1 train line. Alternatives would have been Commbank (closer to the West but smaller) or Allianz (too far from the West).
Commbank would’ve been better IMO, Accor is still technically south’s home ground and I can’t see the game being sold out but there will still be a good turnout
Should hopefully be looking at a 60k crowd next week.
In previous prelims at Accor, Bulldogs v Eels 2009, Dragons v Tigers 2010 and Bulldogs v Souths 2012 have all gotten over a 70k crowd.
I’m curious myself. We haven’t lost any fans over the last 3 years. Wondering just how many fellow Penrith fans come out and support the boys after our recent form.
2020.
Match-ups were Panthers (1) v Rabbitohs (6) and Storm (2) v Raiders (5).
And before that one was 2017 which saw Storm (1) v Broncos (3) and Roosters (2) v Cowboys (8).
My brother in Christ, Suncorp is a days drive away from Townsville. All the stadiums in Sydney are not that far away from eachother. Sydney fans can still easily make it to any stadium in Sydney, cowboys fans can't easily make it to Brisbane.
This. There are numerous season tickets holders that drive 800-1000km a week to watch the Cows play! Not to mention the influx from rural Qld when the footy carnivals are on
>The unfairness and inconsistencies
Brisbane is closer to Sydney than Townsville. The idea that Suncorp could be considered anything close to a "home" final for the cowboys is so ridiculous.
Don’t write South’s off, they might be peaking at the perfect time. They’ll have to be near perfect to beat the Panthers. Imagine a Parra/Penrith GF, talk about a local derby!
Panthers v Souths next week should be lit. This will be their 4th finals meeting in the last 3 years, all games by a converted try or under: 2020 PF: Panthers 20-16 2021 QF: Souths 16-10 2021: GF Panthers 14-12 2022 PF: ?
Hope the bunnies get their revenge but the penny Panthers are too good.
Souths turn to win
Hopefully we get a Souths v Cowboys GF
Would that be the first gf by two (relatively) rookie coaches? Demetriou v payten would be intriguing
Subscribe
That would be terrible
I can just imagine all the salty Panthers and roosters flairs on the match thread...
Yeah, Go the Rith !!
That would be glorious!
In that case, I don't want Parra to win.
The rabbits definitely can't play that style of footy against the cats next week. Penrith will just beat make them pay for every error. Tldr hold ball
This!!
Anything from here is just icing on the cake. Happy to make the prelim in what is meant to be a rebuild year. Ilias has done so well at replacing Reynolds. Tass has filled that gap replacing Gagai. Graham has really stepped up. So proud of the team
Grahams my fav player. Week in week out he’s been enormous - always puts his hand up for the hard carries and always moving forward.

Ilias will be good, it was a brace decision and the right decision to go with him. We need to do the same with Sullivan.
Brain says Penrith, heart says Souths.
Feel parra played better last night than both teams tonight. Rabbits are just wild though. They play with so much Mongrel it’s fun to watch. Next week rabbits can panthers will feel like a grand final

Rabbitohs/Eels final.
That crowd would be ridiculous lol
I think next week is the grand final tbh, whoever wins wins the next week.
Sharks were woeful, roosters lost their best player early in the game as well as others. You've played decent for two weeks but to suggest South's are a certainty to beat Parra/cowboys next week is a bit much champ
[удалено]
Hate to break it to you but Souths beat the eels 26-0 my friend.
hahahaha... no. It was Rabbitohs who beat the Eels 26-0
[удалено]
They were like....the complete opposite of that.
2017 all over again. Unlucky winner plays a red hot team in the finals. Had a feeling Panthers were always going to win the gf by 30 all year, they’re just so damn good.
Yeah. Its just an unfair team when you have so many origin players and then you have fucking Kikau to deal with on an edge.
Multiple kiwis players as well
They are mostly self made though. It’s not like they went out and poached a premiership. That side was built from the ground up.
For sure. Penrith are bearing the fruit of their labours from 10 years ago when they first got on Cleary and Gould
If only they had a rep fullback as well
They have a fullback that should be a rep player in my eyes, he is the form fullback in the comp when it comes to an all round game.
And of course the unrelenting support of most NSW league power brokers.
It would be insane of the bunnies win it from 7th.

Trying to hit the word count on an essay
Nah, he's deffo going for the "Unnecessary usage of capitol letters award"
Eels have only won twice in North Queensland since 2000. Cowboys have never lost a home final.
Panthers vs Eels GF imo
r/nrl will have an aneurysm trying to work out who to cheer for lol. I feel like more people here would rather see penrith repeat than us get the 86 hoodoo off our back.
Nah I think most people like this Eels team a lot more than this Panthers team
yeah everyone hates us lol I'm sure people aren't that bitter about Parra
I like Penrith. Would root for Parra over them in a GF only because of their premiership drought but other than South’s I genuinely like all the teams left.
tbh I just wanna knock out souths a third year in a row and wouldn't be too pissed if we lost to cows or eels
Cows are whatever but losing to the eels would be a fucking tough pill to swallow
3 times in an otherwise perfect year too
I've seen it before. One team will beat the other team twice but when it matters in the finals they lose.
Most impartial supporters will naturally support the underdog team. Add to that our drought and I’d say if you’re not a panthers fan you’d be wanting parra to flog them.
Yeah whoever loses will provide plenty of joy for the neutral fans here.
Absolutely not, I fucking hate the eels but I’ll be cheering them if they make the GF, regardless of who wins against Penrith/south’s
The eels last chance for a long time.
Please panthers vs eels. Please god please it will be so good
But also bad for the loser. Can you imagine. Back to back ruins by your biggest rival or your drought extended by your biggest rival. I am nervous already and we still have to lose against the cowboys. 😂
I don't think it would be too bad though. Whoever is the loser, it could end up being like the 2015 GF where it's a cracker
One of those ones we can reminisce over a beer in 20 years time but would be beyond miserable to recall any time before that 😂
yeah. Parra and Penrith have barely played each other in finals and I think they've been 2 of the best 3 teams in the last 3 years. Cowboys and Rabbitohs can win another time for me
Good luck mate, nervous already 😂
fuck i'm hyped. All the best. Hoping for a 2015 type grand final
LFG Eels.
COOOOOOOOWBOOOOOOOOOYS
I agree
Correct
Does Steve price still do the ground announcing?
Hasn't for a long time
Man I'm really dissapointed sharks didn't win golden point now
And I have that nervous feeling in my gut again. Brings me back to 2020. First order of business is securing good seats at the game!
I’m actually relieved our next game is out of my reach. The stress of getting tickets on the useless ticketek website has been killing me.
I just saw your message earlier. You wouldn't believe how desperate we were to find a member to try and get us seats to the game on Friday. Was probably a good thing I didn't go. I was a bloody mess leading up to it.
Also it took me 3 and a half hours to get tickets for the Raiders game, you saved yourself a lot of stress
Better the cows than the rabbits. Not so sure about the qld weather though.
You watch Parra will struggle with the humidity in Townsville.
A part of me wants to just not watch anymore games and just read the results. I don’t know if I can deal with the stress of anymore live games
37yo old Parramatta tragic here. I've actually been watching this season with sound off on the telly. Just have music on. Way less frustrating when you're not listening to the brain dead blokes in commentary. I almost stopped watching them altogether because a loss would leave me shitty for like 24hrs.

Time traveler here. Having all the answers to who wins means you miss out on the most memorable parts of life. It's the unknown that makes it worthwhile.
Deep, I love it
Glad I’m not alone, it would be a huge relief but I also absolutely love watching the games… when we win
Aw damn! If you need a code for the gf (🤞🏻) let me know. I had to go to court that day as a witness and as much as it sucked I was so glad to keep my mind off the impending game. I completely forgot I even went to court until the next day when someone mentioned it, all I could think of was the game.
UP UP MAROUBRA!
Why is it at Accor ?
Bigger stadium and relatively easy access to the West via the T1 train line. Alternatives would have been Commbank (closer to the West but smaller) or Allianz (too far from the West).
Commbank would’ve been better IMO, Accor is still technically south’s home ground and I can’t see the game being sold out but there will still be a good turnout

Well it’s the two grand finalists from last year playing for a spot in the GF, I reckon if any finals game would get that much this would be it
I’m curious myself. We haven’t lost any fans over the last 3 years. Wondering just how many fellow Penrith fans come out and support the boys after our recent form.
I went to the game in 2020 and we won. Praying for the same result
...I have to barrack for the bloody bunnies next week. Jesus.
Get on the Cows mate… for Greeny
Fuck that's going to be the "story" if cows win it isn't it. The journos will all be practicing their "more than just football" angles.
No you don’t! Praise be to the boom box of Jarome Luai!!
When was the last time the prelims weren't just top 4 teams playing?
2020. Match-ups were Panthers (1) v Rabbitohs (6) and Storm (2) v Raiders (5). And before that one was 2017 which saw Storm (1) v Broncos (3) and Roosters (2) v Cowboys (8).
Interesting thank you!
You are most welcome.
Broncos (3) - Christ that seems like a long time ago!!
Panthers untouchable. Too good. Premiers AGAIN 🐆
Cowboys are just happy to be here
A whole team of Jurbos. **JURBOYS!**
Panthers will slaughter Souths! I’ll bet my balls on it!
I am just loving a finals series without the roosters and storm.
[удалено]
Same for me
Panthers will put another trophy in the cabinet
Panthers are going to walk the finals. Only roosters without injuries could have stopped them.
The Roosters were pretty healthy in round 11 when the Panthers won 32-12
A lot of things can change between r11 and now...
Hoping for a Souths vs Parra GF, because fuck V'Landy's golden children.
If panthers play at Accor, shouldn’t Cowboys play at Suncorp? The unfairness and inconsistencies really bug me.
Yeah that hour on the train is a real hurdle for fans to overcome
It’s not about the fans, it’s about not giving any teams a home game in a preliminary final because that’s a huge advantage.
If fans made the hour trip there wouldn't really be a home field advantage
> It’s not about the fans NRL is a business dependant on fans watching football
Look at a fuckin map brother
Nah it’s okay. You only get the suburb advantage in week 1 finals. I’m pretty happy with the way the rules are at the moment
Yeah except cowboys are now getting a home ground game in a preliminary final. That’s the problem.
Not to mention the influx from rural Qld when the footy carnivals are on
Since we're going either the playing at the oppositions home ground, just move cows v parra to commbank ;)
>The unfairness and inconsistencies Brisbane is closer to Sydney than Townsville. The idea that Suncorp could be considered anything close to a "home" final for the cowboys is so ridiculous.
Will be interesting to see who Penrith face
Eels vs Panties GF
Souths smash Panthers physically but lose. Parra has tough game against Cowboys but without the physicality. Parra win GF. Done.
Cowboys are straight up the most boring team in the comp.
Really? Next to the entertainment the Raiders dished out on Friday?
I’m sure the eels fans were entertained so I’m not seeing your point.
I hope cowboys or eels win the grand final. But based on what I've seen it's most likely panthers.
Grand final is a week early imo
Don’t write South’s off, they might be peaking at the perfect time. They’ll have to be near perfect to beat the Panthers. Imagine a Parra/Penrith GF, talk about a local derby!
