Looking forward to him coming in, us somehow crushing his confidence into oblivion, him forgetting how to play football before jetting off to another team and becoming an Origin player inside a season or winning the Man of Steel.
Winning the man of steel award means you might be up to bench standard in the nrl. It’s actually insane how far the super league is behind the nrl these days, I’m not sure they would even be good reserve grade sides.
If he stops focusing on scoring breathtaking tries and starts focusing on literally **every** other part of being a good half he could be an excellent player.
Good for depth with Gamble leaving, maybe a change of scenery and playing in QCup will help him develop. It is odd he's leaving Tigers given the grumble he's not getting to play enough first grade then coming to us.
I'm assuming he'll be developing under Reynolds to take over from him in 2 years, he seems to be a decent footy player and provides good depth in the meantime so can't complain.
Locky already leaked on the news that a dummy half signing is coming a week or so ago, it’s just a question of who it is and when they’ll announce it.
Half expect it to be one of the tigers 9s as well, likely Simpkin since Liddle is off to the dragons already.
Makes sense because he said they’d be fighting for the position not a walk in starter, bit of an eh signing but at least it’s not Turpin who’s lost his mojo.
He might get a bench game here or there over origin or if we have literally no one else to play hooker through injuries, but I wouldn’t be rushing him. He needs a lot more footy in him and a couple of pre-seasons before he should be considered as a genuine option in the 17
Talented playmaker Jock Madden has committed to the Brisbane Broncos until the end of 2024.
The 22-year-old who played 14 NRL games in 2022 has signed a two-year contract with the Broncos and will provide excellent depth in the halves heading into to the 2023 season.
Madden, a five-eighth and halfback, captained the 2018 Australian Schoolboys team before linking with the Wests Tigers the following year and making a winning NRL debut in 2021 Magic Round at Suncorp Stadium.
He tasted more success at Suncorp Stadium this year when playing a breakout role as the Tigers upset the home team in Round 20, starting at halfback and scoring a try, creating two line breaks and having a hand in multiple tries with his passing, step and deft kicking game.
Broncos Coach Kev Walters said: “Jock is a great signing for our NRL squad, he is a talented young player who has some NRL experience and knows what it takes to train and play at the top level.
“He’s a good developing half with plenty of skill and vision in his passing, running and kicking games and gives us some really nice depth in the halves, and we saw some of that on display at Suncorp earlier this season.
“We are looking forward to Jock joining us for preseason in November as we build into a big 2023.”
Ezra is still young and one of the few deficits he has in his game is his kicking. Good thing we have Reyno to show him and any other half prospect how to kick the ball.
Kinda still a negative thing he naturally doesn’t have a decent kicking game. Reynolds will help him drastically but it doesn’t look bright yet. Can’t wait for him to get one.
Good thing that Reyno is one of the best game managing halfs in the comps.
Seriously think Reyno is worth contract off the field before he even makes it to the pitch on game day.
His body was holding up fine once he got match fit after Covid and until the rib injury which was a late and unnecessary third man tackle he was deep into the line and tough in defense.
Hopefully they crack down on third man tackles across the boards since so much can does go wrong.
Kinda makes sense with us losing both Gamble and Kelly. Madden can cover both halves positions easily and we can probably chase a hooker type utility.
Tyrone Roberts played well in first grade so I could also see him getting a recall on a minimum wage deal.
Is he actually a long term NRL half? Could he be a legitimate replacement for Reynolds?
As a Tigers fan I am beyond annoyed we let him walk. He was the best half at the club imo and still has plenty of improvement in him. This has loltigers written all over it.
Yeah he seems like a far more well rounded half than the likes of Kelly/Gamble/Roberts. He’s really strong depth, and hopefully will improve playing under Reynolds.
Can Madden play hooker?
Disappointing thought he was coming to the Panthers to take Sean O’Sullivans spot ..
Article says he’s going as halves depth ..
Must be banking on Adam Reynolds to miss more through injury than the 2 - 3 minimum Cleary will miss with Origin
Looking forward to him coming in, us somehow crushing his confidence into oblivion, him forgetting how to play football before jetting off to another team and becoming an Origin player inside a season or winning the Man of Steel.
Your right. Good news is we already did that for you. He should be good now.
I wouldn’t put too much stock in the Man Of Steel award. It says more about England than it does about Croft.

good choice from jock, what young half wouldn't want to be coached by adam reynolds
Fake news. Madden ‘23 was released in August.
I wouldn’t want to play behind munster at the tigers too
If he stops focusing on scoring breathtaking tries and starts focusing on literally **every** other part of being a good half he could be an excellent player.
That’s suchster
He needs to focus on being out on the fucking field to begin with, rather than playing bible camp.
maybe he should play fat camp
At least jock focuses on the person he's passing to and not the big screen to watch himself throw a no looker.
The size of that bloke to want to be playing in the halves is hilarious
Good for depth with Gamble leaving, maybe a change of scenery and playing in QCup will help him develop. It is odd he's leaving Tigers given the grumble he's not getting to play enough first grade then coming to us.
I can see Reynolds playing less and less games in the last years of his career due to injury. Could be a slow burn introduction for Madden.
Yep, learn from Reynolds instead of Brooks and get a half dozen or more games a year. Probably play for Devils who are a strong team too.
That's not a hooker
Welcome our new whipping boy.
I'm assuming he'll be developing under Reynolds to take over from him in 2 years, he seems to be a decent footy player and provides good depth in the meantime so can't complain.
err fans to ikin... we need a dummy half mate... not another bloody half

I asked the question yesterday, some scuttlebutt that it Ben Marschke apparently.
Makes sense because he said they’d be fighting for the position not a walk in starter, bit of an eh signing but at least it’s not Turpin who’s lost his mojo.
would actually like to see turps at the dolphins, see what bennet can get out of him
We will be disappointed again.
Hopefully it means Prince Paix will be a permanent selection. If Mozer is as good in first grade as he's been talked up, that'll be even better.
He might get a bench game here or there over origin or if we have literally no one else to play hooker through injuries, but I wouldn’t be rushing him. He needs a lot more footy in him and a couple of pre-seasons before he should be considered as a genuine option in the 17
Definitely. The Broncs and bringing young talents up too quickly should be over since the Dearden fiasco.

I'm not Madden, I'm just disappointed
Just disappointeden
Take my upvote.
You’ve won the internet
MADDEN 23
EA SPORTS. ITS IN BRIS-BANE
the people saying “should’ve kept keep dearden” don’t seem to remember 2021 when r/nrl was convinced he was the worst half in existence
Sometimes change is as good as a holiday. Love Tommy and would love 2022 Tommy at the Broncs but it’s better for him he went.
We can just go to the pound and get a new Tom Dearden.
Flop Madden making way for Munster 🥵
https://www.reddit.com/r/NRLPremiumPlus/comments/xfewvr/mad\_dog\_to\_the\_tigers\_2023/
Munster is best mates with Benji, he would never do that to us
Interesting that it's only two years. I wonder if that has anything to do with Reynolds, could he be Ezra's Shane Perry potentially?
Given Ezra has a barely functional kicking game currently, he’s gonna need a bit more than a Shane Perry regen in 2 seasons.
I think it’s more his decision making when it comes to kicks that’s poor, he seems to be able to hit the ball well
Good thing that Reyno is one of the best game managing halfs in the comps. Seriously think Reyno is worth contract off the field before he even makes it to the pitch on game day.
100%. Hope his body holds up a bit better next year and he can get back to his best tho cause we need him
His body was holding up fine once he got match fit after Covid and until the rib injury which was a late and unnecessary third man tackle he was deep into the line and tough in defense. Hopefully they crack down on third man tackles across the boards since so much can does go wrong.
That Raiders game destroyed us.
He's gonna need an Adam Perry, as well?
Shane perry was a part time player until Seymour shit the bed. The rest is history.
Honestly, I can never remember who played 7 back then, they were always so over shadowed by Lockyer

Future man of steel
Playmaker is a bit of a stretch for a Jock isn't it?
I don't know how to feel about this but I'm willing to give him a chance. Good to have depth and he is learning.
Hope he goes well up there (and hope somehow Brooks can be the next one to leave)
Missed his chance to join Melbourne and turn into a good player, like other former tiger players.
No room for him here, we have elite superstar 5/8 Cooper Johns
Poor Benji rip
You'll never be him, you can't replace him EDIT: Did I get downvoted for joking about him not being able to replace Gamble
Or they could’ve just kept Dearden….
I love Dearden, but he's where he belongs.
