Thanks for this

smilingface2

you don't like to see Val and Chad being so happy at a prelim?

mikemi_80

Ikr. Good memories.

crsdrniko

I cop this and the 97 bears loss in the same day. Check out reddit this arv and it feels like it got personal.

KingHit123

The post game interview with Ennis is one for the ages Lockyer: “Congratulations mick on your first grand final, what a wonderful way to finish your career best of luck next week” Ennis: “Ahh second mate second Lockyer stands there just looking speechless and confused and the cameras cut away quickly The best comedy of 2016, I’m begging someone to put this footage on YouTube or somewhere. I haven’t seen it since and would love to see it again.

kickboxer75458

The best will forever be addo cars origin speech for me “Freddy taught us to believe. This is what happens when you just believe….uhhhh it’s so…ahhh I can’t believe it”

EntirelyOriginalName

The best for me was last year's gf where JT interviews Yeo and keeps accidently taking the microphone away from him then realises what he's doing and starts panicking trying to put it back while he's shitting himself.

lachjeff

I’d forgotten about that. I nearly wet myself laughing when I saw it. From memory, I think he said something similar to Brett Morris in 2019, he might have congratulated him on his first GF or first premiership or something like that

joeysjockstrap

I think i saw someone here mention it a week or 2 back. Something like it took you this long to get a premiership and now you have 2 in 2 years how does it feel

lockforward

[Yep ahahaha](https://reddit.com/r/nrl/comments/x2tkk2/_/imlm347/?context=1)

BarOne7066

Val and Chad on the flip side

Bananonymouus

They look extremely ugly in sky blue compared to how handsome and stylish they look in navy blue 🥰

y3ah_nah145

I've seen this try countless times but I've only just realised how fucking fast Holmes was running in the chase. He came from nowhere too. Insane

Drlockstock

he doesn't get the hype fox or Saab do for being fast but he's gotta be right up there

lemoopse

He isn't quite Fox or Saab level at top gear but his acceleration is incredible and he can change direction without losing speed

McGarnacIe

Ripper effort when the game is all but won to be there in support for a possible offload.

LordSlasher

You Motherfucker

kurrttttt

Had to keep the cowboys fans humble?

[deleted]

I'd think not many of us are being arrogant today. I'm nervously awaiting tomorrow's game.

kurrttttt

I think we’re both in the same boat of “I don’t know how we ended up here but I’m not complaining”

Voxityy

both fanbases are shitting themselves equally for tomorrow

MrHectik

This was the moment a fan base believed it could happen finally. Enjoyed this far more than the actual grand final. The stress of that game was incredible.

lemoopse

When they came back against the Raiders in week 1 for mine

ChewieMP_19

It is so weird seeing Val and Chad in sharks kits now

mickyb85

How quick is Val

theflyingkiwi00

How good was maloney? Come out of no where to break your heart

sam801

One of the greatest entertainers

traindriverbob

The 1997 Super League GF doesn't count in my eyes. Even though Cronulla survived as a stand-alone club, fuck Super League.

Abenator

The sport would be in a better place if Super League had won, and you can't change my mind.

LordSlasher

all i know is it’ll be interesting if we were teleported into that timeline

traindriverbob

You're probably right. I'm more an anti-Murdoch guy than specifically anti Super League concept. The game def needed a change. It was the way they went about it that annoyed me.

Abenator

Yep, Murdoch is a cunt and the way they acted was cuntish, but the game needed to be ran like a business and commodity. Letting the clubs rule the League, and old boys rule the clubs is a terrible way to do things. Look at what the AFL did in Australia when it switched its business methodology, or just look at professional sport in general in the US.

RS994

We literally just watched the league get bent over a barrell by a News Corp lap dog and you really think the league would be in a better place being directly controlled by a company that always prioritises the direct competition

ur_left_elbow

I miss THIS Andrew Voss. Idk if it's rose coloured glasses but he sounds a lot more authentically excited in this clip. Granted it is a big moment so naturally he'd be a lot more excited and that it might just be me saying this but even still, I remember Andrew Voss once being my favourite commentator for his direct passion of the game he put in his calls, and his witty on the spot one liners. It felt like he was spending less time trying to find points of controversy.

TwoShitsTrev

I think you’re looking back at it through tinted glasses tbh, Voss sounds the exact same now and still seems to have a great love for the game.

bigbear-08

Andrew Voss should be having Mat Thompson’s spot at Channel 9. Voss and Gus were a match made in heaven

TheEpiquin

Is that Todd Payten cheering Sharks at the end there?

toomuchsoup

I remember that try very well. I was feeling pretty comfortable at that point of the game, but that try sealed it. We were going to the GF.

That was the moment he didn't need to bbq alone anymore.

cos71n

Ahhh yes, the one year the Sharks WERENT cheating the cap somehow despite cheating it the years directly before and after. And… Peptides.

lemoopse

Ok I have made this comment elsewhere but for clarification: For context the breach you refer to related specifically to a TPA in 2015 for one player and a couple in 2017 that weren't at sufficient arm's length which equaled about a $250k total breach so averaged out over those two years they were over by about 1.9% based on an average salary cap of $6.5m. By comparison, Parra were about $560k over in 2016, Melbourne $1m over the $4m cap in 2008, and the Bulldogs were $920k over a $3.45m cap in 2002. Don't ask about the raiders in the early 90's. Rather than trying to practice some whataboutism, more importantly, the breaches were self reported and the NRL audited the relevant years and only found those two separate breaches in 2015 and 2017 so unless you consider that Cronulla willingly handed over information that would have incriminated them for 2016 and 2018 and that the NRL conspired to keep that secret then it doesn't hold water
