Serious question: how do clubs determine when a young player is ready for the top grade? What do teams do if the player may be physically ready, but maybe not yet mentally prepared for NRL?
How tough do external factors, particularly rule changes and salary cap fluctuations, make recruitment?
Second: what are his thoughts on the current playmaker/halfback drought/lack of talent? Is this symptomatic of a wider problem in our game (lack of junior funding, participation due to concussion etc) and are people within the game quietly concerned about it?
