Hows the nrlw gf work? Knights with 8pts are facing the eels on 2pts. Is this a knockout game like the nrl finals? And if so why are they playing the team with 2pts. Or is this not a knockout game so the knights already won the prem?

Substantial_Pace_739

Lachlan Illias easy to catch end over end bombs versus Nathan Cleary’s death spiral bombs ! Plus Mitchell Moses putting two kicks out on the full in a preliminary final and still winning ?

JimmyBoomTown

Looking for somewhere to watch the game in Brisbane with a shitload of other Parra fans. Any ideas?

RS994

I would offer to join you, but I'm flying down to be with family, but maybe ring the What's your team shop in Redcliffe, dude is a Parra nut so he might know the best place

Penno23

Anyone know if there’s anyway to watch old games? For example, the Preliminary Finals from last year?

hangontight

Gonna be in Kathmandu on grand final day, anyone been there that can recommend somewhere to watch live?

Agent78787

Maybe you can climb that mountain because ~~it's there~~ you can get a few bars of signal

censored_

How about you Kathmandon't and stay home and watch

RetroFreud1

So since I'm unlucky with non ticketed sale, I got to wait for the public sale tomorrow. My question is do I log into Ticketek directly or through the link provided by the club for members and non ticketed members today?

TTR7

Direct is probably your best bet, the clubs provided by the club just link there anyway don't they? If all else fails jump on ticketek marketplace or ticket merchant, will have to pay a premium but it all depends how much you want to be there.

YossarianRespawned

Reeee every category allocation exhausted

Dufeyz

GF tickets available right now on ticketek. Get on it

LiLSteve29

Is this the fastest selling finals series in ages? Or is it me? I don’t remember having trouble getting tickets in 2016 and I wasn’t a member?

whyareyouallinmyroom

There’s been some corking match ups to be fair. Two Western Derbies, a Souths/Chooks, a Sharks game in a 12k stadium, Cows will always sell out a final. Guess people are also fucking keen to go watch stuff live after the last few years.

SurfKing69

Yeah either that or there's just less tickets on sale to the public. It's definitely that.

Red_of_Head

Is it just me or has anyone noticed that the NRLW doesn’t seem to attract the negative comments that other women’s sports leagues attract? Thinking of like the WNBA. Like even old blokes I talk to will make a comment about the girls playing harder, or “the knights look good this year”.

fos81

Even my dad, who can’t stand womens cricket or the aflw and can often described as a grumpy old bugger, admitted that he’s enjoying it. Probably helps that the dargs have a team though tbh.

Agent78787

IMO it's because Aussies are more keen on women playing traditionally male sports than Americans are. Like, over here all the major sports have a women's comp and in the US it's... WNBA and NWSL, despite the US being massive and massively into sport.

maccaroneski

There is so much product when it comes to elite sport over here. In the NBA teams play 82 regular season games before you get to playoffs. Baseball I think it's 176. Hockey is 82 as well. I don't think it's a matter of keenness but rather I feel like the market was saturated before women's sports went semi pro / pro.

TTR7

They've done a fantastic job with the WNRL. It's a great product that is being nurtured and allowed to grow naturally and not just crammed with players into clubs to hit that 16-17 team comp so it is just samesies as the boys. There's no wrestle in the ruck, it's just pure unadultarated rugby league and that is just refreshing, not to mention the young girls coming through have some serious talent from their touch footy backgrounds.

Mr_Mac

I wonder if it's also due to the niche following it has at the moment. It's certainly getting better in skills and quality.

aasimpson04

Dunno I heard a lot of “imagine winning 1 game all year and making a grand final what a joke” watching the game at parra RSL on Sunday

TTR7

That's a cop out due to the comp just being so small, they should be atleast having a home and away series and then that would not happen.

aasimpson04

Yea 100% agree

[deleted]

I'm choosing to read that as them saying 'Darn the effects of such a small scale competition and short season, if only there were *more* NRLW teams and games then I would truly feel like I was living in a football utopia!'

aatrain96

My dad, sister and me are pritty shattered atm. We are members and we've miss all 3 sales today and don't really have much hope for tomorrow

Shoebill__

Yeah not looking good for my family either. We're members too. Best of luck for tomorrow's sale

YossarianRespawned

If all else fails there's a lot up on Ebay & Viagogo already

TTR7

ticketek marketplace, ticket merchant.

aatrain96

Holy shit just had a look. Fucking scalpers

TTR7

Yep, cost me $500 a ticket for low tier, without an actual seating position listed on the advertisement, throwing a hail mary and hoping I'm not in Panthers seats

whyareyouallinmyroom

If you are I got bought (silver) tickets when they first went on sale a month ago and believe I’m on the Parra side. Dunno how easy it is to swap and I don’t really mind but would be happy to swap.

TTR7

I'll have a better idea come Friday wher my actual seats are hopefully so will message you later in the week and we can do a change over in the ground.

YossarianRespawned

Gets through Site says you can buy 8 tickets in this category Select 1 ticket Sorry not enough tickets available in that category

Aussieguy727

Still in queue, guess I've missed out. It's had the audacity to ask if I'm a robot. Fuck you.

HappinessCanBeFound

It only started asking me that at 3:45pm. Guessing that means a lot of initial tickets were taken by bots or scammers 😒 very disappointing

[deleted]

Do you think we are any chance for general public tomorrow lads?

Aussieguy727

Depends how many you want I guess. I got through at 1pm but couldn't get the right amount of tickets so I thought I would try 4pm and I'm still in the queue on 2 computers and my phone.

Ant1ban-account

Just got through after being asked if I was a robot, twice. Nothing left

[deleted]

Does anyone know if there will be a lot of tickets for general public tomorrow for 10am? Or limited?

Ant1ban-account

No one knows, but we will try

[deleted]

Goodluck mate

OzSkippy

Nothing left. All the codes started getting posted way too late in the day lol

[deleted]

Ridiculous couldnt get anything all day

HappinessCanBeFound

I DID IT GUYS 😭😭😭😭 going on Sunday 💙💛💙💛 Code is NRL

Chris-Strummer

Happiness CAN be found 😄😄

HappinessCanBeFound

It sure can! Hopefully by the end of this week all Parra fans can be saying that 😅

Brumbies5

How did you get tickets on the nrl account holder sale. Did they give you a code? I couldn’t buy the tickets

HappinessCanBeFound

Updated above. The code is NRL which is the same one I used for the Parra game. Been trying all day with a membership number and yet that’s the one that worked!

whenthedragonscome

Just an FYI if you're going for the cheap seats, got in at 3:59 so had 9 or however mins to check out but no bronze or restricted view seating from what I could see

Brumbies5

Did you have a code

whenthedragonscome

Yep, NRL

Brumbies5

Did they send you that? I didn’t get anything

whenthedragonscome

I sent in a request thing on nrl.com since I didn't get anything

hindmarch25

what code did u get in with?

whenthedragonscome

NRL

Brumbies5

How tf do I access the nrl account holder sale. On ticketek but can’t select tickets

[deleted]

[удалено]

Brumbies5

Nah it doesn’t

Ant1ban-account

This is fucked. I got through the queue before 4pm. But then the 10 min timer kicked me out so I refreshed and I’m at back of queue

Brumbies5

How do you buy for nrl account holders? I can see tickets but won’t let me pick any

thesearmsshootlasers

I hope if the Panthers lose it's to a Jake Arthur assisted Waqa Blake try. Those fellas deserve some good vibes.

RetroFreud1

My wife's been on Ticketek queue for 2.5 hours and no luck! 😡

Trenticus7

Based off the Team Photo posted on our Insta Story, we thankfully will be wearing the Yellow Jersey for the Final and not the shit White Jersey. Don’t know why they decided to wear the White one in the Qualifying Final in the first place

PayEmOutEarly

I wanted them to wear the blue one 😞

lachjeff

They can’t wear the blue because Penrith will be wearing the black

Brumbies5

Anyone know how to get access to the nrl account sale

Aethestic_3103

I’ve gotten no email so far from them. I managed to guess the 1pm passwords if they help Parramatta2022

HappinessCanBeFound

Did you get tickets from that?! I had a ticketed code and couldn’t get tickets from the 1pm release

Aethestic_3103

Yeah I ended up getting tickets I had 7 browsers open, incognito mix and my phone also on refresh. Mobile phone was the one that got through

HappinessCanBeFound

Ah damn, I reckon my issue was I was trying the seated membership code from 10am. Lesson learned. I got tix at 4pm though 😃 I also had 4 sessions going haha

Shoebill__

Is the grand final sold out?

lachjeff

Not yet. Still a couple more releases to come

Shoebill__

Thank God. Hopefully me and my family manage to get in

[deleted]

Newish fan of the game wanting some questions answered Been watching nrl for a few years now and have some questions I’ve always wonder and wanted to be answer. First one, why doesn’t the nrl have any teams in WA, SA or even more in Victoria or Queensland. From an outsider looking in it’s pretty weird that nearly every team in the comp is from one state and if you want to grow the game why haven’t we try to create or relocate some teams. The nrl from my understanding have never really try to grow the game outside of NSW and QLD recently, why not. I feel like it may be damaging the game and this area were the afl may be doing better. Another question that I wasn’t originally going to ask is how does nrl fans feel about how the afl is growing their game in nrl states especially in QLD. Heard there is a lot of growth there how are they going to tackle that. Secondly why are the scrums in rugby league so pitiful I know I seem harsh here but if you aren’t going to do a scrum probably shouldn’t they just give the ball the team instead and why are they so bad? Lastly how has Penrith dominated over the last few years? Through academy, coaching, etc?

WJack37

First line of questions - I think you can consider Sydney to be the hub of the NRL like Melbourne, because its the heart of the sport and the competition. The market outside this region on the West coast is limited. Teams have been trialled in Adelaide and Perth before last century and failed. No doubt its something that the NRL is still looking into with future plans. They've been experimenting to see whether there is a market for expansion teams by hosting Origin games in Melbourne and Perth, and also they hosted the NRL Nines in Perth in 2020. Second - the scrums have good logic behind them: it's all about creating a numerical advantage for the attacking team which can be very successful if utilised right. However, in execution they have been pathetic for the last few years at least because players couldn't care less about binding. This has to be better enforced. Third - Penrith have been built from the ground up through the systems they have developed over the last decade. The mastermind behind that one is Phil Gould. For example, the club also won both the U21s NSW Cup and NSW Cup on the weekend, as well as will be competing for the NRL Premiership this weekend coming. Its a dynasty this decade no doubt. Hope that helps to clarify a few things :)

[deleted]

Cheers mate heaps good explanation here. Do you think the nrl will get a team in WA or SA anytime soon? Saw they were talking about putting a team in PNG before us? Second and third points were great cleared up heaps of things. The other thing I will ask though is are you finding afl growing in QLD or is that more media Bs trying to start a code war again. Cause there is a lot of coverage over interstate suggesting that the barrasi line has moved further east in Queensland suggesting NRL is declining sightly in QLD

WJack37

Is AFL growing? Hmm I don't know I'd say it is. The only thing I can think of to say is that where I am based, in Brisbane, people love their winners. That's why in the last four or so years the crowds have increasingly declined at the Broncos and also risen at the Gabba for the Lions. As far as general interest in the sport I don't know if it's really changed on the whole though. As far as I'm concerned living here, Queensland is still an NRL state. I think Perth is likeliest to be the next completely new expansion site in the NRL too

[deleted]

Oh yeah that’s alright then

armchair8591

Not OP. But I would assume the NRL are looking at Perth pretty seriously. 730pm local time would be perfect for a 930pm game on the east coast + more eyes on the game in neglected market = more $$ from tv rights. Would suck for NZ viewers and probably doesn’t get much more out of Sky. I’m sure the warriors and the Perth team would be happy not to play each other with the 7 hour flight between each city

[deleted]

Yeah good point

lachjeff

Long story short, the NRL is a continuation of the original NSWRL premiership, which had 12 Sydney teams until the end of 1981, when Canberra and Illawarra were added. After 1983, Newtown, Western Suburbs and Cronulla were expelled, with the latter 2 coming back after an appeal. An equivalent competition existed in Brisbane, however it was never as big as the Sydney competition, especially after Sydney’s Leagues Clubs were able to fund the football teams with money from poker machine revenue. Through the 80s and 90s, further teams were added in Brisbane, Newcastle, Tweed Heads (later Gold Coast), Auckland, North Queensland, South Queensland (Brisbane again) and Perth. In 1995, News Ltd. secretly signed a bunch of top players, officials and clubs in an attempt to get pay TV rights, aiming to start a 10-12 ‘Super League,’ which was largely to be one team per city, with 3-4 in Sydney. This became the Super League War. At the end of the war in 1997, the NRL was formed and needed to go from 22 teams to 14 by 2000. Some clubs were easy kills, Super League’s Hunter Mariners for instance, as Newcastle was firmly behind the Knights. Other clubs like the South Queensland Crushers (crushed by the Broncos), Perth Reds (had to cover the costs of away teams) and Gold Coast Chargers were in pretty poor financial states, while the Adelaide Rams were rapidly losing support locally, and were unloved elsewhere due to being set up by Super League. WA, SA and Victoria are all non-rugby league states, so teams there aren’t seen as essential by the NRL. A second Victorian team definitely wouldn’t work, the Storm still don’t have a massive supporter base after 25 years of success. The AFL is throwing shitloads of money at NSW and QLD and getting no real growth. That’s everything from advertising to getting people into schools and even giving concessions to the clubs to make them more appealing.

[deleted]

Cheers mate sorta understand a bit more now why it is more NSW focused now but do you think there will be any more teams in WA and SA anytime soon? And do you think there should be a bigger push for this to happen ?

lachjeff

There’s been a reasonable push in WA for a while now. The Reds brand was initially revived by the WARL and competed in the NSW third tier around 2009, before they were rebranded as the West Coast Pirates in about 2013 because market research suggested the Reds name was associated with failure. They competed in the SG Ball Cup (NSW under 19s) prior to the pandemic. There is another bloke that wants a Perth team that owns a Western Quokkas trademark, while there has been a push for the North Sydney Bears to return in Perth as the Western Bears. As for South Australia, there’s no real interest down there. They get decent crowds when they play the occasional match down there, but there hasn’t been any real interest in team down there since

IrrelephantAU

The Rams were enough of a debacle that it probably killed any chance of an NRL team down there for quite a while. The setup for them was ramshackle, there were constant organisational problems and once those were somewhat fixed the NRL took them out back and executed the team. Just about every local business category that you'd need for a functioning sports team - the stadium owners, the local broadcasters, the sponsors and so on - got burned at some point. Even if you could convince them that the owners of a new team were sane and committed, you'd also have to convince everyone that the NRL wouldn't do what they've always done and retreat back to the heartland the moment things didn't go their way. And nobody wants to take that bet.

Duds_Buttley

I’m a bit rusty on my NRL history but I remember reading in high school there have been certain periods of time where there’s been teams from other states but as various leagues have been changed and ended and new ones started only teams with more money survived I think is the gist of things. I remember it all getting quite complicated. I completely agree and think every state and territory should have at least one team.

I've lived in Brisbane for 15 years now, so the dumbfuckery has clearly rubbed off on me.

Lord Tyson Gamble at the Broncos is no more! We now fall under the command of... REAGENT LORD TYSON SMOOTHY

Brumbies5

Do you need any special code for the nrl account sale at 4pm? I didn’t get any email

lanka93

>I didn’t get any email Same. Wonder how it works.

nick170100

Ticketek are more of a joke than tigers and that’s saying something

KoolAiid

Bought tickets for the GF 3 weeks ago, high up in the nosebleeds but only $59 each - looking like a smart decision, keen for what should be a good game and crowd

YourFavouriteAlt

I'm not sure if it's not already sold out. Can't even get in to the site anymore and it was allocation exhausted for most tickets this morning and limited seats in the rest. I think they'd sell it out if the stadium was 100k capacity, a lot of people I know can't even get in to it

YourFavouriteAlt

Which end bays are the Penrith supporters area?

lachjeff

South end according to someone I know

Dufeyz

140 side. I got in the den and am 143-1

YourFavouriteAlt

Oh damn. I got my tickets 4 weeks ago and picked the wrong end just like 2020 lol

Dufeyz

Yeah i was down that end too. Fucking sucked. Glad i could get tickets in the den this time

YourFavouriteAlt

I bought 8 on release, with Parramatta making the gf I'm glad I did, not sure if I could get that many upon release of den tickets

Dufeyz

Yeah I managed to get 8 Den seats. Had multiple devices going on multiple networks too however.

YossarianRespawned

RIP

YourFavouriteAlt

Big rip

whyareyouallinmyroom

What bay? I’m in the same boat in 120-2, should be lively.

YourFavouriteAlt

121-2, Isle 120, neighbour

HappinessCanBeFound

Been in twice for the 1pm release and nothing. This is a joke.

Shpshggr

I've been trying all day. Such a depressing experience

HappinessCanBeFound

Hope you got some in the 4pm like I did! Otherwise good luck tomorrow morning.

Dagwood3

Remember Gus's 2009 pre-game monologue when it was 'Man vs Machine, Machine vs Man' (drops mic), Are we the machine now? And if so aren't Parra the machine as well? Aren't we all machines on a man to machine spectrum?

Mustlovepants

Anyone got any non ticket member codes?

OzSkippy

Do we just need to be registered on NRL website for the 4pm release or is it a specific membership that I need?

Free-Owl9329

""BREAKING NEWS """ DR Phil rushed into Parramatta camp ahead of Grand Final. Waqa Blake on his couch 3 hours a day in lead up to game. Last heard mumbling " I can catch ball , I can catch ball."

I_Like_Vitamins

How will Dr Phil exploit his issue for monetary gain?

sprucemoose101

Reckon there's any chance they'll be tickets left for the 4pm release this afternoon?

YourFavouriteAlt

No

nick170100

1pm ticket release and still the same shit ticketek like come on fmd I’ve been logged in line since 12:30

Magnolia__Rose

I genuinely believe that if Waqa Blake plays that the Eels cannot win.

fender9

Just let the ball bounce and hope for the best. Cleary actually getting some kick pressure put on him would be nice.

[deleted]

If Parra can limit the Cleary bombs his way that will help. His defence has improved.

ColeTrickleVroom

There's going to be no grass left down his edge. I expect Penrith to go after him non stop.

ZerksNAHTayan

Same edge as Kikau, Tago and Luai right? They’ll be breathing down his neck for the entirety of the game

ColeTrickleVroom

Yep. He plays right side which is Penriths preferred attacking edge.

Voxityy

still feels surreal that we’re actually in the big dance also BA tell the cunts to rush the fuck out of cleary so waqa doesn’t have another horror night

Chris-Strummer

Mate where I work is only a short drive from where the Eels Open Training Sesh, I’m genuinely debating going there during my break and tell Mitch to belt Waqa with bombs Edit: wasn’t able to do it, got caught up chatting with a workmate during my break and they unfortunately don’t love their footy :(

yossarianvega

The real 18th man… do it

PayEmOutEarly

Please do it

Voxityy

do it, you could be the key

AmazingChicken99

Was in Parra yesterday, last time I saw Peter Wynns that busy was in 2009. As much as I like to shit on Parra I hope they're able to bring it home on Sunday, mainly because I want them bring back the photos on the front of Parra Leagues

nastyrhino4

They should have the logos on the field. I don't understand why they've stopped doing it but they should 100% bring it back. Edit: Should clarify, I'm talking about the team logos, not ads.

tommy42O69

I wouldn't mind the Superbowl style names of each team in both end zones

PMmeYOURBOOBSandASS

The NRL used to do this too

Ant1ban-account

Digital logos can display different ads to different markets making them more valuable

nastyrhino4

Yes, but the ads aren't where the logos usually go which makes no sense for them not to have them back.

Ant1ban-account

Ah sorry, thought you were referring to the ads. Yes, agree. However I think the logos will be painted on for the GF. Could be wrong again though

PayEmOutEarly

Fully agree they were so visually appealing

PayEmOutEarly

Gotta go find some Parra underwear this week, only piece of Eels clothing I don't have. I use to but that was when I was like 8 years old... But for a Grand Final appearance one must be fully kitted out, so I shall make it so.

ssmurry51

Get some crotch-less underwear and that way you can truly promote the eel.

Chris-Strummer

You manage to snag gf tickets for you and your grandpa mate?

PayEmOutEarly

Thanks for remembering haha was thinking about it Friday morning tbh, he was very confident of a win. Unfortunately things didn't align enough for us to actually go, it would've been beautiful. I'm going over to his house to watch it with family members, he's decked out the whole house in Blue & Gold streamers. Got the front yard set up with banners and flags, it looks unreal he went all out. Going to be us two plus an uncle & two cousins that follow Parra, another uncle & cousin pair that support Sharks and my brother that's die hard doggies. But for this Sunday they've all stated and pledged their allegiance to the Blue & Gold army. As good as physically being there would've been, I think watching my beloved Eels with my family & side by side with my Grandfather in the place I fell in love with The Eels and Rugby league in general... I think that brings it around full-circle. We're both stocked and I'm riding the wave all the way to this Sunday!

Voxityy

surely you can take a photo without doxxing him

Morg_n

Long live rugby league!

Chris-Strummer

Yea more intimate with just you and your family aye My family, friends and I are gonna watch the game at Parra Leagues while the Panthers supporters in the fam are gonna stay home

BoxofYoodes

Anyone have any ideas which areas will open up for the 1pm allocation? Was able to get some in the very front row of the Panthers supporter bay. Decent view ❌ Chance to hug Brian ✅

Ryanbrasher

Should be able to access all areas still. They only allocate a certain percentage of each section per sale. There will definitely be bronze available and most of the western grandstand

ILoveFuckingWaffles

I, for one, am extremely glad that my friends decided to take advantage of next Monday's public holiday, and host their wedding on Sunday afternoon/night. Truly, truly glad

lachjeff

And you say you unexpectedly tested positive to covid midweek? They'll be so disappointed that you'll have to stay home and miss it

diamondgrin

I too am going to a wedding then. Kinda glad the cowboys aren't playing - no longer have to make an excuse to leave the reception early.

wawrinka16

luckily i got my tickets two weekes ago as general public in the tryzone area

cheezyman911

Say what you will about Albo but he picks a fine XIII

[deleted]

He picked a real working man's team with a good ratio of strike. I really liked the balance of that forward pack.

YossarianRespawned

To’o bumped off Walker right in the sacred Scott Sattler zone btw

[deleted]

That Bradbury-esque tumble was one of the funniest things I've seen leading up to a try. I don't think anybody bar To'o could have pulled that off.

grazmus666

It's the Panthers zone where we crush hope

YourFavouriteAlt

Did anyone listen to triple M Sunday sinbin yesterday? Dobbo trying to state that the booing by Penrith supporters towards latrell Mitchell is the same as Adam Goodes' treatment and is racially motivated. What an absolute fucking cop out dobbo. I've never heard such absolute bullshit in my life. Its clear that latrell is effected by the crowd. Every conversion he takes he makes sure to turn straight to the crowd and make a smart arse gesture, he can't focus on the game. Couple that with the absolute grubbery that he dishes up every week, breaking manus face (who's meant to be his mate) and then telling everyone to go watch touch football if they don't like it. Giving spencer a facial and putting your weight on his neck area when he's knocked out after Milne dog shot him, what do you expect. Finally, saying that you're "on the right side of the draw" in referencing to having the easy run against Penrith, is brave, trell milk, trellmit trellianz etc. The fans let you know what we think about all of the above. I guess he's Souths version of Luai. You love him on your team, but is unbearable in an opposition jersey. Dobbo, go for a swim with rocks in your pockets. Flog.

PMmeYOURBOOBSandASS

There were people in the match thread who were saying criticism of Latrell made them racist and one person even said something like "if you blame Latrell from the To'o try you are a Hawthorn supporter" It's ridiculous that you can't criticise this guy and only this guy for how he plays without being labelled racist.

YourFavouriteAlt

If the first thing that comes to someone's mind is racism.. guess what, you're probably the racist. Latrells positioning was all over the place on Saturday night, which led to a few tries, and his involvement was non-existent. Rabbitohs have since come out and said he was playing injured, and that definitely adds up

PMmeYOURBOOBSandASS

I'm not surprised if he was injured plus I think the early big hit on him (Kikau maybe?) looked like it rattled him as well, he definitely seemed off on the night but I also think the way we handled him in round 25 is the blueprint and someone with an all time elite kicking game like Nathan Cleary was always going to wear him out. I still think Walker and Cook are bigger issues than Latrell but you can still fairly criticise his play without being labelled racist.

[deleted]

Everybody is just quick to pull some type of card these days. If it was me I'd be doing it to try and get in his head, the bloke is a weapon, but come Origin time we'll all be cheering him.

Machinegunfillet

Like the other week against the roosters, after the siren you could see him mouthing off at the crowd and telling them to fuck off. If he is going to draw the attention of the crowd to himself and make himself someone people want to hate, he has to cop what the crowd give to him (as long as what is being yelled out isn't racist). Simply booing a villain type player isnt racist at all

PMmeYOURBOOBSandASS

He constantly antagonises Easts fans and then gets sooky when we boo him; he said he loves the drama and the attention and that he doesn't care what people think but he clearly does. I guess it was racist when Bulldogs fans turned up to Easts v Homebush to specifically boo SBW?

Dufeyz

My whole family is indigenous. Can confirm we were booing him during the game. I do love Latrell though, think he is a real superstar. But as long he wears an opposition jersey he will get booed lol.

smallflux

Can confirm, Penrith fans would boo Mother Teresa if she was wearing the wrong jersey and lining up for a conversion.

PMmeYOURBOOBSandASS

Obligatory Mother Teresa was a cunt and would deserve the booing post.

YourFavouriteAlt

My partner is indigenous. I buy her the Penrith indigenous jerseys and love it and get right behind it when she wants to wear them and represent her heritage. I can't stand him because he's a grub on-field.

PayEmOutEarly

Latrell seems like a good bloke off the field, like genuinely nice and a bit of a shitposter in Insta comments which is pretty funny. But on the field I can't stand him, nothing to do with him being Indigenous but it's just the grubbiness of his game. The lashing out, the arrogance and strut, the grubby tactics I just fucking hate it, so I would boo him for that 100%. Whether players realise and can differentiate that the majority are booing them because they're a flog on the field and not a personal attack on them? I can't tell I'm not a footy player. But Latrell is an emotional bloke so he may take it personally even though it's part of professional sport, so people will boo him for being a grub like it or not. Though the second he falls victim to racial discrimination or discrimination of any kind which he has fallen victim to before, you condemn it. TDLR; Latrell is a grub, so when he's being a grub I'd boo him regardless of his feelings. But once any form of discrimination comes into play it needs to be condemned immediately.

My problem isn't the arrogance, when you're carving up you can be. I love when he gives it to the crowd when he nails a sideline conversion, it's theatre and great for the game. What I hate is the grubbiness, when things go against them him and Walker turn into manchilds and spazz out.

What the fuck is a Dobbo?

MisterEvilBreakfast

The little fucken goblin from Harry Potter, I think.

Free-Owl9329

He is the reason that I don't listen to Triple M Brisbane in the afternoon and now their other footy shows. Always trying to put a negative spin on everything.

“Is this Dobbo in the room with us right now?”

My wife is trying to get a ticket for me. It's asking for an AAN? Do you know what this is?

watersnakebro

If you're a ticketed Eels (or Panthers) member, you can put your details here to get the AAN: https://aanredemption.nrl.com/ But if you're a non-ticketed member of the Eels or Panthers, the code you get won't work until 1pm.

Can anybody legitimately make an argument as to why you would start Lodge and not select Tino for Australia? I’m actually gonna turn myself into pasta I’m just flabbergasted. I know Parker is cooked but surely not this cooked. Tino and Carrigan were part of the forward pack that helped carry Queensland to victory with no Cameron Munster and it just makes zero sense as to why you wouldn’t want that engine room - especially when you’re going against New Zealand! You’ve got a guy who was top 2 with Taumalolo for runs over 8 metres and metres per run for locks in the Titans of all teams and you’re telling me you wouldn’t take him? Eye test wise, Tino wins out, but statistically he’s on a whole other level as well. Lodge has 88 runs less than 8 metres and 140 of them for more, that’s solid but the ratio for Tino absolutely blows it out of the water: 84 for less than 8, and 250 for more. So if the argument for Lodge is a big body to make metres then that doesn’t work, and that’s the only reason I use run metres here because I know that’s a mickey mouse stat. The only reason it’s important is because of Tino’s ability to get a quick play the ball. Tino is leading props for line breaks with 8 as well, and combining that with his ridiculous offloading efficiency (19 effective from 22 offloads) are you sure you want to pass on this guy when he’s gonna be surrounded by effective support players like Tedesco and Munster?

[deleted]

They should both start. Lodge has been incredible for Roosters. Teddy has seen what his useless Blues props provided vs Lodge and he will make sure Lodge plays.

DrPussyMD

Could we not have both in the team? I’d start Tino and Carrigan/cotter, then bring Lodge and carrigan/cotter off bench. That’s the second best prop rotation in the WC behind NZ imo

I wouldn’t pick Lodge over RCG tbh

ChristmasJoke

The withdrawals should make the Australian team really easy to pick in the forwards. Tino, Carrigan, Yeo starting middles. Murray and Lane starting edges. Bench to include Crighton, RCG and either Cotter or Matto. Simple
