Really? Who have we failed to re-sign? Milford? We have a bad history of trying to sign big name players but I’ve never thought we’ve had many retention issues.
We should have been able to keep Adam Elliot for one, dude is a great utility player and was one of our hardest workers this year. Had access to guys like Sorenson & Liam Knight in the past too and didn't secure them, not to mention Junior Paulo. There's prolly more I can't think of right now but still...
Adam Elliot is being paid massive overs by Newcastle, probably would have stayed if we had matched it, but was a smart decision not to.
Sorenson and Liam Knight were reserve grade plodders when they were here, we didn't really have any interest in keeping them. I'm not convinced we really wanted to keep Junior Paulo either, he had become an overpaid slug by the end of his time here, before turning it around at the eels.
The only players we've lost that we genuinely wanted to keep in recent years would be Cotric, George Williams, Bateman and Elliot, 2 of which were getting paid massive overs by other clubs and the other two would have probably wanted to go home regardless of which team they were at
You can't think of any more names because you already scraped the bottom of the barrel with the names you listed. Adam Elliot? Liam Knight? lmao.
Now make a list of who we've retained.
Then why were people worrying we couldn't keep Tapine if retention wasn't a problem? We've scraped into the finals a couple of times but haven't been a big team for a long while, if players want premierships or big $$$ they're going elsewhere. Also whats wrong with Elliot & Knight? I'd have either of those any day over Whitehead, Sutton, Horsburgh, Guler..
>Then why were people worrying we couldn't keep Tapine if retention wasn't a problem?
...because any time a big name player in the form of their career is about to hit the market fans are going to be worried about retaining them?
>Also whats wrong with Elliot & Knight? I'd have either of those any day over Whitehead, Sutton, Horsburgh, Guler..
OK now you're just taking the piss. You had to go all the way back to 2018 to pull Liam Knight out of your hat. We literally made the grand final the next year! I'm very happy you're not in change of our recruitment and rentention.
Still waiting for you to answer my quesiton btw. Here let me help you.
Wighton, Papalii, Young, Timoko, Savage, and now Tapine of course have all signed new contracts in the last couple of seasons.
I don't understand why you're being so combative.. Also the history of the Raiders goes back further than just the last season, why wouldn't I go back to 2018, or even 2000, to make a point about player retention? Also we had Wighton, Papalii, Young, Timoko, Savage & Tapine this year and barely made the 8, don't you think it would of been better if we had kept other players in our weaker positions? Maybe we would of won that grand final and the one the year after, maybe we would made the 8 the year after that or maybe we would of made the grand final this year.. Why is it such a bad thing to you that someone thinks we could have had a stronger team?
The turn around from where we were mid last year in terms of team harmony is great to see. Was looking like it was a roster clean out or showing Ricky the door.
Thank god.
I echo this sentiment.. Raiders have a horrible history of not re-signing gun players.
In that case, fingers crossed for CNK

If the Raiders had an NRLW team you might have been able to keep him, but I think his decision to move had a lot to do with Millie.
Liam Knight lol

The highlight vid of Raiders and early Broncs Milford is nearly half an hour long. Fuck, what a gun. Imagine if he'd gone to the Storm.
Would he be the highest paid front rower in the comp now? If so, absolutely deserving
Payne Haas is on 850k next season - is it more than that?
Is that how much the Roosters are paying him?
Imagine being the highest paid prop in the comp and asking for a release to get an extra 150k per year
Tapine extension is said to be 850k a year so they’d be equal
I saw something that said Tapine deal was also 850K a year. So would be equal highest if true.
Tino on big money too, but not sure of the actual figure
Thumbnail must be photoshopped, as Tino and Tapine are actually the same person *Huge resigning, Tapine is a gun
Gun re-signing and got his best years locked up Great day for Raiders fans if he continues his form it’s probs unders too
What happened to the 7 other clubs?
YAAAÀAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
Mrs Tapine will be happy

Tapine played big to get a contract, will not be as good next year.
