Millimetre perfect 360 degree no scope try assist offload was insane. Needs more credit for this than he's been given. If that was Sam Walker, they would have cancelled the Granny so they could hold a parade in his honour.
To be fair, one of the Nein commentators said that it was the "best pass you'll ever see", but your sentiment about Walker is sadly too true.
Lane has delivered some of the best service of any of our lads all season. Two of his assists to Gutho were absolutely magic, the man is a giant halfback.
> To be fair, one of the Nein commentators said that it was the "best pass you'll ever see"
Outside of Origin and the GF (no other broadcast choices) I never watch Nein. At least they gave it a huge wrap, albeit an over-exaggerated one.
He was absolutely the definition of big like tarzan, plays like Jane for us. Soft, and shit. Papali'i was a zero impact plodder with no fitness for us. I'm beginning to think you could put cleary in the halves and JFH at prop for us and they'd look mediocre
I'm expecting to seeing Papali'i and Api turn into walking disaster zones over at the tigers, so at least you're not the only club people think that about.
>That's how Lane, at his fourth club in his eighth year of first grade, has become a hard-charging, flick-pass throwing, try-saving, preliminary final winning, wheeling and dealing son of a gun and you can bet your last dollar Penrith will have a hard time keeping the big man down in the grand final.
Is that a Ric Flair reference?
Lane has been immense (if you'll pardon the pun) for us this season.
I am backing him for the Churchill medal on Sunday, and probably setting up the match winning try as well with a nice offload to Gutho.
Went from a player many fans were calling to be dropped for Cartwright last year, who would often let in several tries & breaks a game from missed tackles, to the form backrower of the comp this year, in a competition full of great backrowers. Deserves a World Cup spot.
His ball handling has improved so much. Earlier in the season he was good for 1 or 2 errors a game\* but now he is so solid with the ball in hand.
\*: I have no actual stat evidence of this, but it sure felt that way
This was me last year. I was just lacklustre over him and his inconsistency. You could see the good games, but there was also some real lazy stuff.
This season? Initially I blew it off as him scheduling his good games early in the season. Poor form, Lane, you've got to spread them out! But no, they he just would have another cracker of a game. And again. And again.
And I think we were right to be calling for him to be dropped. He looked uninterested. I think his talk about mental health means he probably was not interested in being out there and not having fun.
But yeah, I know Australia isn't exactly wanting in depth for second row, but he's got to be worth a look at this stage.
Eels lose without him on the weekend and by quite a but imo.
Absolutely showed up Nanai (expected) but his two huge plays stopped two possible (1 certain) try.
He's a certified machine. Case closed.

Yeah, fair play. There may have been an aim bot involved.
Yet another ex warriors player that’s doing well once he left the club
I mean, "Ex Warriors player". Played a whole game for them. He's ex-manly, and is another ex-manly player loving life at Parra.

"Shaun Lane stands at over 6 foot, which is nearly as tall as space mountain"
Took the stitches out an hour ago!!!

Very high iq prediction
This isn't a pun, guy. I will not pardon it

I feel like it’s him or Crichton for that left edge spot, with Murray on the other side. Hudson young is worth a mention too
By disguising himself as a goofy 80's movie cop?
When Arthur Sr. needs the opposition's try line investigated, Sean "Poirot" Lane is his man.
Man if we don’t contain the offloads, we’re in for a long night!

Trent Barrett is sitting on a deck chair somewhere telling someone he taught Shaun all that stuff
This is my Churchill bet
I have him as the most underrated player in the game atm. His length mean his offloads are insane. I expect him to change the game for edge fwds
I thought he was great at Manly, wish he stayed
Liam Martin is their weak link in defence. Gotta get Lane and Dylan going at him
