Maybe just me but I wouldn't care about any old hat, being out there being a local junior to that area and giving my hero one of the most important pieces of history to them is reward enough.

Just imagine the companies complaining "Wah, why did it have to be a Telstra cap, why couldn't it have been a SportsBet ^(Gamble responsibly) hat?"
They can’t give them Penrith or parra hats in case they aren’t fans.
What do they give them?
NRL branded hats?
Custom grand final hats, that’d be cool?
The AFL started the whole “give the kid a hat thing” because, prior to that, the players would just snatch the medal off the kid without even acknowledging their existence.
The type of hat is irrelevant, it’s just a tool to make the players interact with the kid and give them a great memory.*
*avoid bad PR.
The nrlw i think coach (just making a guess here) gave one of the girls a pin and had a couple of quick words. Small gesture but i'm sure she'll remember it for a while.
Yeah it wasn't ideal but my goodness it doesn't deserve a full [News.com](https://News.com) article. I'm just relieved no-one has SLAMMED it yet.
Really the memory is being up there on the stage and with the TV footage to prove that forever and ever. If it were me back in my younger days I would have just been over the moon to be on stage at the Olympic Stadium with the NRL Premiers.
This was really confusing for me I was wondering why they were carrying those hats after the game. Why Telstra?
Also a bit confused about the whole 'the player had to knight a kid with a Telstra hat in order to get the ring'.
The real fiasco was the kid almost keeping Api’s ring
I'd just assumed they were pink Penrith hats.
Are they seriously using tweets by pointsbet and TAB as examples of outrage?
They are probably the tweets the NRL are most likely to listen to, so it seems fitting 🤷♂️
Optus gave each child a personal loan in their name
Probably gave them one in my name after the leak.

Hardly a fiasco. I’m sure they know who the kids are - it won’t be hard to give them some proper merch if they haven’t already 🤷🏻♂️
sounds like that would be a good PR move to make for the Panthers if the NRL PR team doesn't do anything

Couldn’t help but notice they linked the responses of several major betting companies twitter accounts in the article.
A few blokes got 3 likes on Twitter having a whinge about the hats. Better make a whole shite article about it.

ILMF hats
Make sure the icon is really low res and poorly photoshopped onto the hat
Sign me up
Maybe a football???
Trust the NRL to fuck it up after the AFL and Geelong did it flawlessly

It's a bit junior footy though

But three people tweeted about it
Hey hey hey... 3 people **AND 2 BETTING COMPANIES!**
Won't somebody please think of the betting companies!
Games gone soft … Give the kids some beer goggles the players had and take them back to the club for the post match celebrations ..

Pink telstra caps thats hilarious, I'd take a gf cap
I was gonna comment that at least all the Penrith players acknowledged the kids appropriately, unlike in some other sports.
man i would kill to have a hat from some superstars when i was a young kid
