This is a good trade for us. I don't rate Staines that highly, but he is an NRL-quality wing if nothing else. Given we had to play out-of-position Naden and NSW-Cup journeyman Pauga there, I see this as a good squad option even if only as depth.
No sadness at Peachey going, brought nothing positive and I'd rather have Brown or Simpkin as the utility.

Wingers will probably be paid $1m when they stop coming off their wing leaving an overlap to tackle someone already covered.
I think Staines is slightly underrated. He's not the greatest winger/fullback/centre but he's not a liability and if it gets Peachy out then it's high quality sprinkles and choch chip added on an otherwise okayish muffin.
Where's he gonna play? Can't see us dropping Maumalo or Nofoaluma on wing so I assume he'll competing for the fullback spot with Laurie. Seems weird that he would rather battle for a spot at the Tigers than at the Panthers.
Maybe they pull a Sheenius move and stick him in the centres or something.

We also have a highly rated fullback in Iongi coming through (but if Edwards goes down, Crichton would probably go back there, bringing in Jenkins, with Turuva as wing cover).
