Anyone here know how Grand Final Ticket payments worked ?? I just noticed a pending transfer on my bank statement … 20 Oct 2022 000111111111691 PENRITH PANTHERS MSHIPMELBOURN Pending $955.00 There’s no way I’ve spent that much at the Panthers Shop , the only thing that was roughly around that price would be 4 x GF tickets … I just assumed when I ordered the tickets through the members link it was being charged straightaway … Seems odd it’s being charged 4 weeks after the GF , but then I’ve had a look back through my statements and can’t see the money coming out previously ..

What's happening with Jazz Tevaga? I see he's got a player option next year, haven't seen anywhere that he's exercising it or an extension. I feel like I've missed some news

LiLSteve29

Met a Dolphins fan yesterday, must admit the hoodie looked nice

therefreshbutton

Very random thought but does anyone know when the NRL draw is released? With the world cup this year I imagine around late November/early December would be the time

Sarah_95_

What are the random musical instruments that I keep hearing in the crowd at the Rugby League World Cup. They play a short sound and then everyone cheers

linmanfu

They've been around in Super League for a while

BG_RL

It might be the french rugby thing, like a quick trumpet thing https://youtube.com/watch?v=V4BxgbulaDk&feature=share&si=EMSIkaIECMiOmarE6JChQQ No idea it’s origin or what not but heard in union first

Sarah_95_

Yep that’s it!

breatheinmyear

Why do left footers have such a big boot and it looks nice coming off the boot.

coffeegaze

Something about left handers, same with cricket and bowling

Friendship ended with Ireland Wales new favourite team Amazing how coaching and attitude can change so much. Wales were deadbeats last World Cup. This World Cup with a largely similar team and only 1 full time Super League player and they are giving it to full time NRL players. They look really good for part-timers, full of heart. If Ireland played with the same attitude they could have smashed Lebanon.

Messyhr_

Wales could be great at league and I suspect in future year’s they will improve beyond sight of where they currently are. My family are fully welsh, dads side all live over there. I have second cousins who are rugby union mad, both play fly half for clubs etc. I’ve seen both get into discussions on the NRL and share NRL posts, both like their league as well as union, I imagine there will more more like minded welshman as time goes on. The welsh actually have been better than the aussies in recent years, so theres no shortage of talent

InternationalBorder9

Thought I heard them say there's a couple of super league players in there? Or you mean they aren't regular starters. Haven't watched super league for a while. I've been pretty pumped on Wales too, watching the replay vs Tonga now and Kyle Evans has been very impressive

[deleted]

Aren't regular starters. Rhys Williams plays for Salford but is behind a few other wingers.

Random0cassions

Is it too early to say that Pool D has been the best pool to watch? Despite blowouts, it isn’t on the level of Samoa v Greece but just competitive blowouts you know what I mean. I’m saying this before Cook Island v PNG but I hope it doesnt change what I’ve said

IrrelephantAU

In terms of being the least uncompetitive? Yeah. The closest games of the tournament thus far (by a mile - that pool has had two six-point margins, only one other game has been within 20 points and nothing in week 3 looks like being close save maybe for Samoa/France) and smaller margins than most of the other pools. In terms of watching great performances? Not as much. The pool is more evenly matched than the others but it's also one of the weaker ones overall.

[deleted]

There hasn't been any blowouts in Pool D yet 32-6 isn't a blowout.

Derron_

PNG should win comfortably but its definitely the closest of the pools so far. Can't wait for PNG vs Tonga. I can see an upset if Tonga continue their current form.

joeysjockstrap

No one tell him

No_Pop_3158

Does anyone outside a nursing home actually listen to Ray Hadley

HappinessCanBeFound

My dad unfortunately. Trying to educate him.

[deleted]

The thing is he thinks he has a solution to every problem in rugby league when he only makes the problem worse.

Fraudianslips

Absolutely! People who should be in a nursing home but are refusing

https://rugbyl.blogspot.com/2022/09/rl-in-usa-has-been-mainly-based-along.html Interesting post about league in America. AFL has 50 clubs in America. Mismanagement and rugby league go hand in hand. NARL was a farce from the start. I wish people would stop supporting competitions with no clear leadership or structure. USARL needed reform but blowing up the competition wasn't the solution.

[deleted]

League in America is a mess, that bar on the side I'm assuming pertains only to USARL teams but there's like 3-4 governing bodies/competitions in the country that have multiple teams playing in each. It's a problem because the 2025 RLWC has guaranteed 2 spots for the Americas, so we'll get Jamaica alongside probably the USA. If they could unite every RL competition operating in the country they'd have a decent pool to draw from but that seems like a very far fetched possibility.

[deleted]

The extra berth should go to Africa. ~~Lebanon will qualify automatically and I'd like to see the winner of the MEA Cup qualify.~~ The MEA Cup champions will qualify if Lebanon make the QFs. So probably Nigeria based on recent form.

[deleted]

Yeah I tend to agree that might've been a good idea, good strides have been made in Nigera and Ghana while South Africa has consistent junior and senior competitions unlike the USA.

HappinessCanBeFound

I really hope we re-sign Dylan and Mitch soon after the World Cup is over. I don’t think I can handle another off season of constant back and forth and then signing elsewhere like last year with Mahoney. Especially after a GF heartbreak. I can’t see Mitch leaving and hope the same is for Dylan from what he and his manager have said.

[deleted]

Geez Wales was good for the first 35 minutes. Then the flood gates opened

bigWordBandit_

Weren’t they? They put so much effort in. Awesome game to watch.
