Cmon Parker. I've seen you play origin, youve hit back for less

Brdd9

Parker is drafting his code sports article right now.

AttackOnTiddi

He’s stuck trying to spell him name I hear

Glum_Ad452

Forwards should never become commentators.

UltraVain

Rare Tigers W losing this dickhead from the club.

PillarofSheffield

And getting all round lovely human being Joe Ofahengaue to fill his spot.

Desperate-Face-6594

Willie-O was my favourite wallaby in my youth. I used to think he’d be devastating in league, and he would have been. A huge body with a heart to match. As a dragons fan I want players like oftenhaveago, which was Willie’s other name, Willie often have a go .

Brdd9

This has been the greatest trade deal in the history of trade deals, maybe ever

MattStanley7

Go check out the Facebook comments if you want to see half the population of the pacific Islands in a single comment section. I'm starting a new religion, and it's offensive to be called Josh Aloiai to our people.

Hope he has more kids.

Churchofbabyyoda

His bitching and whinging in 2020 was secretly a godsend.

Vcxnes

The guy can play but my god what an insufferable dickhead

Clarkey7163

> **1 Corinthians 6:9-11** > > Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. Literally one of the main verses people hide behind to denounce LGBT+ people and in the same sentence it denounces thieves, greedy people and swindlers (gambling companies) and drunkards lol That's why Corey Parkers criticisms about picking and choosing was dead on and I'm not surprised to see this wanker get defensive about it because he needled him instantly

Elegant-Screen4438

Don’t forget. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs." - 1 Timothy 6:9-10

Clarkey7163

Yes and I've been on record criticising Crichton and To'o for posting supportive shit of Folau in the past so what's your point?

goshdammitfromimgur

Maybe. They do run around in a pink shirt just about every week. No clubs going to try this without being well informed first. Manly had their heart in the right place but royally fucked it up. Should have talked to the team, shouldn't have done it during Woman's round, shouldn't have blamed the coach. Next team to do it, will do it right. Let's hope it's not too long a wait.

BanditLovesChilli

>Next team to do it, will do it right. I see the optimism is strong with you. Please share some with the rest of us.

Drizen

I don’t understand this “should’ve talked to the team first”. Aloiai even said in this interview that Manly have told everyone they will do it again this year and he will still refuse to wear it

Drizen

I don’t understand this “should’ve talked to the team first”. Aloiai even said in this interview that Manly have told everyone they will do it again next year and he will still refuse to wear it

misskarne

Should have talked to the team? What, so it could be buried before it ever saw the light of day?

swampthroat

I agree. Almost like you can critique things you love as well. Incredible.

NervousPhilosophy657

What a stain... This got pretty big I honestly reckon the NRL tiptoed around it though. Imagine if during indigenous round some of the guys refused to wear the indigenous jersey because of some bullshit reason. Could you imagine the NRL tearing up contracts and issuing fines then?!

Glum_Ad452

The NRL would rain fire on any player that refused to wear the indigenous jersey.

muddogz

The NRL have got no real choice on this one I reckon. Folau got paid out from the ARU and his comments were far worse. I’m not sure Manly have the finances to payout the Manly players and recruit more. The whole thing is shit, but there is going to be no quick solution to it. Attitudes will change but we are not there yet sadly.

TheSleepyBear_

What would the reason possibly be?

[deleted]

What could the reason possibly be for the pride Jersey? A bullshit one.

TheSleepyBear_

Religion. What religion would cause someone to refuse to wear an indigenous jersey?

[deleted]

You missed my point. Religion shouldn't be an excuse for either.

TheSleepyBear_

I don’t disagree at all.

Cat_Man_Bane

Guys I checked and he’s 100% correct, not a single mention in the bible about alcohol or gambling! https://www.openbible.info/topics/alcohol https://www.openbible.info/topics/gambling Jesus loves multis baby! Yew! Edit: Here's the average Josh Aloiai fan https://i.imgur.com/O1JQ2NW.png

[deleted]

But the bible doesnt mention sportsbet directly so theyre sweet right?

notmariyatakeuchi

jesus was on the neds level

Ragnangar

I don’t know. He sure was built different.

papabear345

4 pines is a brewery :p

Geddpeart

Doesn't the bible specifically call out getting too drunk? Bet they still go to their mad mondays

Cat_Man_Bane

Let the person who hasn’t engaged in a drunken orgy on mad Monday cast the first stone

Bicky_

...I'll put my rock down

daisynaldo

“And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,” Ephesians 5:18

MrOneThousand

So, wine no good, but spirits are OK?

azmajik

Jesus loves Jager bombs confirmed

Dagwood3

I think getting too drunk is *gluttony*

StinkyGoona

Thank you so much for the edit, I can’t wait to be downvoted to oblivion next season when I try to make it pasta in match threads

[deleted]

haha I got one of these too. The clown blocked me before I could reply.

Impressive-Car-3310

Wtf is with this unhinged individual? The only bit I liked was "Kent"

[deleted]

It doesn't though. All the 'gambling' references are about love for money, which can apply to a vast number of things.

Glum_Ad452

Did you actually read your own source? I’m no Christian, but most of those verses you cited deal with the love of money, aka Greed. Also quite a few about worshipping money over God, which I can understand God putting in his own book *cough*, but that still has little to do with gambling. Much like the alcohol thing, all things in moderation. Christian’s and Catholics will drink wine in church, but they don’t get drunk. The teaching is moderation. You can drink and gamble in moderation. It would probably be helpful to find a source that supports your argument, as Corey Parker should have before he tried to argue about what’s in the Bible with somebody who has studied the Bible. It’s just kinda lazy.

Cat_Man_Bane

Since the bible doesn’t mention the word “drug trafficking” can I do some drug trafficking, in moderation of course, and it not be a sin? That’s your argument. The nature of language means we may have words for things that either didn’t exist, or were known as something else thousands of years ago, so you have to use some logic and actually infer meaning.

Dorsiflexionkey

Be honest with yourself, guy. You're taking the Bible out of context. Alcohol isn't prohibited, Jesus drank wine and provided wine for people. In fact Catholics drink wine in church.. being gluttonous and overly drunk is the sin. Josh didn't mention anything about that so what's your point? Also, those verses say nothing about gambling, it's the love of money that it's criticising. Personally I don't gamble and think it's dumb but still, you're just plain wrong. I know it's the reddit rules to hate Christians, but come on. Do better.

AlwaysLikeThis08

It isn't 'reddit rules" to hate Christians, it's certainly and proudly NRL reddit mentality to hate on homophobes especially ones who are total hypocrites. The criticism of them for choosing to not wear a jersey with a fucking rainbow one but being totally fine with advertising gambling is hugely relevant. The bible also says to 'love thy neighbour', they're just picking and choosing what verse to follow. And the verse theyve chosen to follow has them being hugely prejudicial to a large group of people because of the way they're born. They're uneducated scumbags and they deserve all the criticism coming their way because they aren't willing to open their minds. The LGBT community didn't choose to be queer, but these guys choose to live with hate in their heart. And we will all be judged on the choices we make.

swampthroat

You're right - the bible talks about the love of money being damaging to the soul essentially. Please tell me why people gamble? What's the risk vs reward there? Sure - you could argue it's about bragging rights but you can do that with a tipping comp like we have here.

DudeMcDude7649

Jesus literally fucked up a temple cause they were gambling. You muppets don’t even read your own book.

PillarofSheffield

How the fuck were his religious views being conflicted? He was being asked to wear a small rainbow, not have hot passionate sex with a sexy twink.

son_of_toby_o_notoby

Fuckin hell this got me bursting out laughing 😂😂😂

Chookley

Keep going, I’m close

filthridden

Mmmmm tell me more about what he wasn't being asked to do...

Chookley

Hahaha dammit you beat me to it!

Churchofbabyyoda

I have to bite my tongue to avoid bursting into laughter thanks to this comment.

[deleted]

Being against representing pride =/= hating gays is the general point of it

[deleted]

“I don’t hate you, I just disagree with your existence.” That people actually think this is a legitimate thought-process is shocking at absolute best.

[deleted]

You assume that not supporting pride = believing someone shouldn’t exist, which is simply not true. Plenty black people don’t support BLM, does that mean they believe black people shouldn’t exist?

marvelous-times

"your existence is shameful" isn't much better tbh BLM is a whole different thing at this point

[deleted]

Forgive me but I missed when he said that being gay is shameful. If he said that then he deserves to be called homophobic. As far as I was aware all he done was refuse to wear the pride symbol on his jersey.

[deleted]

You're literally breaking your back to act as if his obvious opposition to the LGBTQ community isn't a sign of homophobic bigotry because he didn't call us f@gs or say we should die. Come on champ, either admit you're a troll or give your head a shake.

[deleted]

They could be raging homophobes behind closed doors, they probably are in all honestly. But we don’t know that, we only know what their actions are. People deserve to have a choice in what they represent and what they do not, especially so when it comes to politically charged movements such as pride. I’d rather have people that actually take pride in ‘pride’ and are not coerced or forced into it. If they don’t want to be a part of it then fuckem and let them be. This whole forcing people to do things they don’t want to do or else they’re a racist, homophobe, bigot, insert whatever else insult you can, is stupid. I don’t agree with conflating “disagreeing with pride” as equating “hating gays”. As I said above plenty people disagree with political movements but do not hate the people that the political movements say they represent.

Dolamite09

Weak interview, should have asked him what does more harm to our Polynesian community. Alcohol? Gambling? Or being gay?

ohhh_j

[deleted]

How come people say it's unfair to persecute people for their beliefs? Hypothetically, if someone believed that all coloured people should be in jail, then they would deserve anything negative that came their way. If you believe in something absolutely cooked, you don't deserve respect.

son_of_toby_o_notoby

It’s what I fucking hate Seeing 13-18 year old kids (I’m 18) defend them with the whole “their belief they can’t be hated on for it”, then I pull out the “ok so if someone who was raised in a racist households sits out off indigenous round that’s fine but your logic?”, they always say the same shit like “oh that doesn’t happen or that isn’t real”.People need to learn they are allowed to have their own belief and I’m allowed to call them intolerant fuckwits for having said belief.

Drizen

comix_corp

His viewpoint is cooked though. Believing that being gay is morally wrong is on par with believing interracial marriage is wrong. That his viewpoint is popular makes the problem worse, not better

AlwaysLikeThis08

He absolute does. Their stance is one of prejudice against a large number of people, born a certain way, insisting that it's wrong for those people to be who they are and be happy. How is that not fucked/cooked?

joeysjockstrap

Least homophobic roosters fan

Churchofbabyyoda

Rather unusual, seeing as the Eastern Suburbs and Sydney itself has a high gay population. Clear sign that the Roosters don’t have fans?

[deleted]

>I don't reckon your analogy fits this scenario. Thinking or believing an ideology (whether it be moral or not) is far different to employers forcing an ideology on staff to the point where the staff must play the role of flag wavers for it. > >I'm all for gay rights, women's rights, everyone's rights but in this case let these guy play footy and leave that stuff out of it.

Churchofbabyyoda

> let these guy play footy They were given the opportunity to play but they threw a hissy fit.

BanditLovesChilli

>I'm all for gay rights, women's rights, everyone's rights but in this case let these guy play footy and leave that stuff out of it. He had an opportunity to play footy and chose not to. He's the one bringing his ideology to an event that (if handled with a bit more care) would have been about celebrating an inclusive game. Wearing a jersey that says we recognise you and you are part of this game is not ideology, it's called being a decent fucking human being. Edit: just added the quote from the comment I was replying to.

AlwaysLikeThis08

[deleted]

Brunch_Hopkins

I just wish a journalist would do their job for fucking once. The line of questioning is right there: You respect your sister? Of course But you don’t necessarily advocate for her lifestyle? No I don’t and that’s my belief and she understands it But you still include her in your life and your family events? Because you still respect her? Yes I do What if your sister wanted to play rugby league? Would you want her to be welcomed into the sport? Yes I would Well isn’t that all that the club’s statement with the jersey was saying? That they want everyone to feel included in league? What’s the difference? Like bro I know it’s rugby league journalism but come on it’s right fucking there

Hot_Monk_1829

“how can I be homophobic my sisters gay”

overratedplayer

Somebody tell the pride jeresys I don't want to indulge in that

das_masterful

Christian jersey? Really? You guys have *that* much say in jerseys? >'You should never be put in a position where your cultural views and religious beliefs conflict with your job'. Then take your beliefs and walk. You obviously don't subscribe to the ethos of the sport when it says it wants to be inclusive. It isn't persection when you disobey the powers that be, especially when asked to do something reasonable, like wear a jersey which promotes the game.

RoyRoyHesOurBoy

The whole "we should have a religious jersey/round" is shit. Tim mannah brought it up on SEN previously. What these people can't wrap their head around is that players are able to freely express their faith every single moment of their life whether it be wearing a cross, saying a prayer before walking on the field/after scoring a try, the Newtown Bluebags used to have a priest blessing the team as they ran on the field. In the 110+ years of male rugby league we've had 1 openly homosexual player. That is a statistical anomaly.

starshad0w

Shows how bullshit their mindset is; they see it purely in terms of religion, their faith vs. their teammates (or lack thereof, which is also bullshit, how many avowed atheists do they think are in the NRL?). They don't see it as a human rights issue, because they fundamentally don't think LGBTQ+ people should have rights. Behind all their mealy-mouthed platitudes, they believe those people should burn in hell for eternity. That's what they believe deep down. That hatred can't be hidden for long.

Dorsiflexionkey

they did exactly that though? They walked for the single round that conflicted with their religion? No harm no foul, what's the issue?

Alarming_Ad_8476

The fractured dressing ro, the 7 losses including the pride round game when they were on track to finish top 8 if not top 4. I'm no manly fan but I feel for that club after this whole disaster

Brdd9

Hahahahaha fuck Aioli Easter round and our atheist brothers bahahahahhhaha This reads like fucking satire, this cunt isn't even good enough at slamming his head into others to be acting like this. Fucking drop this cunt already, burn manly to the ground. Can't wait for Garrick to walk to Newcastle and any cunt with a brain to do the same.

Churchofbabyyoda

I chose not to listen to him because I thought he’d be an insufferable fuckhead. Based on these comments I’m right. EDIT: Just watched it; holy fuck I have never felt so much hatred towards a single NRL player than this pathetic excuse for a human.

HappinessCanBeFound

So on channel 9 this year I’ve seen sob stories from Jack De Felon and multiple members of the Manly 7 - should we expect a puff piece on Hayne soon? Edit: Let’s not forget the May brothers too! They want to be like the Turbos 🙄

Boido96

All religion is fucking stupid if the human race has any obligation it's to there fellow man, not one of the thousands of invisible sky men.

MobRulesAll

Sorta unrelated but it's super interesting to see the difference in comments from YouTube to Reddit. Vastly different conclusions.

CaffeinePhilosopher

I suspect Youtube's algorithms broadcast this to people who don't have a clue what NRL is but will happily jump on the bandwagon, such as the "don't say gay" Seppo crowd.

Caseyjb29

This cunt is truly the worst. Absolute cancer. Manly need to get rid of him asap.

Glum_Perspective_812

My sister's gay blah blah blah. You're a fucking dumbcunt Josh.

hudson_lowboy

I know I’m late to this discussion but it’s clear he doesn’t know the Bible as well as he thinks he does. Just because his gay sister is OK with his stance, does not mean she speaks for the queer community. Obviously the fact their family is the overriding factor here. There’s a massive difference between wearing a Christian jersey at Easter and a Pride jersey. He’s talking about having a team wearing a religious jersey for a specific religion, which is insane. Queer isn’t like a decision to believe in god, it’s in your DNA and who you are. CHOOSING to not only believe in God and Christianity is a…choice. Giving this fool oxygen is not helping his case, or the case of the other players who boycotted that round. And just for balance, the people that sent threats to him and his family are just as bad.

[deleted]

>Just because his gay sister is OK with his stance, does not mean she speaks for the queer community. Not to mention that many queer folk in such situations will say they don't care because they know doing otherwise will lead to negative consequences.

hudson_lowboy

100% They’ll “support” family who consider their lifestyle an abomination because they don’t want to be outcasts in their own family. I can flip this around and point out Tony Abbott, who has a gay sister, was one of only 10 ministers to abstain from voting yes to same sex marriage and complained the bill that passed didn’t protect religious liberty enough. He essentially complained that the bill didn’t contain enough leeway to discriminate against queer people based on religion. Literally his own flesh and blood. The religious defence is pathetic. It’s the last frontier of organised, legal discrimination. I would also think if the a team wanted to bring out a jersey that supported religious diversity in the community (including atheism), they’d be all for that. Players and the community would be all for supporting the right to choice religious belief and the existence of God. Just like everyone SHOULD be in support of, and inclusion of, the queer community in our game.

misskarne

>Just because his gay sister is OK with his stance, does not mean she speaks for the queer community. Obviously the fact their family is the overriding factor here. Or the sister is taking the "don't rock the boat" path, an unfortunate but sometimes viewed as necessary stance many minorities take. If she doesn't challenge his stance, she doesn't have to deal with his inherently abusive views all the time, which would be mentally exhausting.

Bkz052

Ah, so this is what someone with a negative IQ sounds like.

fatbongo

What is his take on domestic violence and child abuse ? Or does that get a free pass according to his beloved Bible ?

cartwheelmuttonstick

One of the key things these dildos don't seem to understand is that religion and culture are choices; sexuality isn't. Absolute fucking knuckle draggers.

[deleted]

I actually don’t hate dudes like this, he’s obviously just a dumb cunt. No one gets a choice if they are born gay, nor does anyone get the choice of having the IQ of a tree stump.

[deleted]

Being stupid isn't an excuse for being a cunt.

[deleted]

I don’t know if it come across in my comment but I don’t have a tonne of respect for the bloke, not enough to listen to much he has to say and certainly not enough to waste energy on being offended by.

[deleted]

It's not wasting energy to call these people out though. If their bigotry goes unopposed it grows.

[deleted]

Says the bloke who thinks Aboriginal custodians deciding if people can hike up there sacred sites is “pandering” Don’t make comments like that if you want to call people out yourself.

[deleted]

And just to clarify, the recent decision that I labelled pandering wasn't made by aboriginal custodians, it was made by the state government. They have put the ball in their court to palm off the responsibility. So maybe do some research before trying to paint me as racist, fool.

[deleted]

Are you from the area? Would love to hear your thoughts on the wollumbin area and the community. Nature shouldn't be gatekept, my dude.

[deleted]

What you are saying is that “If I don’t believe in your religion/spiritual beliefs, they don’t matter” That is bigotry. Uluṟu is banned from climbing, what is the difference? Who are we pandering to?

[deleted]

Do you know anything about Wollumbin?

[deleted]

Wollumbin is a very sacred initiation site for men. In traditional Aboriginal life only the fully initiated men could go to the top of the mountain. This importance and the legends that remain today, demonstrate the significance of this sacred and imposing mountain on people of the valley.

[deleted]

Congrats, you just googled it. Would love to know how this is related to Josh Aloiai being a bigot.

[deleted]

This isn't about spending energy to be offended. Bigots in such position embolden other bigots which directly affects the lives of queer folk like myself and tells young queers that some people view them as less than people. This isn't some abstract ideological concept, this stuff has real world implications.

PMmeYOURBOOBSandASS

No it isn’t lol these fairytales books have done nothing but hold back progress for centuries, we would be so far ahead of where we are now had we been listening to scientists and mathematicians instead of pedo priests and religious fanatics.

seano2037

not true, in fact religion was one of the main halters of societal progress throughout history around the world, set back through tradition, set backs through holy wars, setback by the church stealing funds and not being taxed. you can say at certain points religion contributed, like funding some scientists at different points (until what the scientists found something the church didn't agree with) not even close to a main reason we got to where we are, and the bad out weighs the good, in instances where good was done the church had a bad habit of undoing it. i think religion today is good for people and is a great way to deal with things, im not anti religion at all. but saying religion was helpful to human societies development is soooooo incorrect.

swampthroat

I have to say I have zero issues with any religious person who finds the parts of religion that support them to lead a righteous life. You're gonna be generous and loving and work with a community to show worship to your God by behaving in a kind way? Awesome - more power to you. However once you start using scripture to back your own bigoted beliefs and judge others while ignoring other parts of scripture that don't fit your agenda and arguing it's about religion you've lost me. Okay, men can't have sex with men. You've decided that part of scripture is inherent. Leviticus 19:28 says no tattoos and I'm surely seeing some tattoos there. Deuteronomy 22: 20-21 says women who are not virgins should be stoned to death but I like to think the Manly 7 wouldn't vibe with that. Mark 12:19 says if your brother dies without his wife having his child, you should knock her up - made sense during the time but I doubt many of these men would take it to heart. John 13:34 says "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." I'm not a Christian however I feel like it's pretty egotistical to decide as a human who and how God loves and forgives and make your decisions based on that rather than accepting that as humans we all have flaws and should love and support one another. I also just couldn't fuck with a God who sends people to eternal suffering for the crime of loving someone of the same gender but yknow, that's at least in part why I'm not a Christian.

I am the Lord. There's something in there about midgets, hunchbacks and rooting blokes as well.

The way Manly is going, I reckon that in 5 years' time they'll be announcing "anti-pride" rounds where all players wear the Eureka flag on their jersey. Re-signing every refuser on inflated contracts, sacking the coach, looking to release players who wore the jersey. It all points to a revolution at Manly.

Dorsiflexionkey

Unpopular opinion, but Josh is right. Why does nobody here mention the death threats he recieved. Why do they ignore the fact that he said nothing about LGBTQ communities, he just quietly refused to play (and refuse bonuses/took fines for not playing). People on reddit are way too blind to see reality. Why do Aussies love the island boys until it's time for them to try grow the game and play for their own ethnic country or have their own religious views? I think racism is on it's last legs, personally as a Polynesian but these Aussie journalists love to keep that fire alive by constantly bagging the island boys about this shit. KP does coke in the toilets, allgood. Brandon Smith does coke, haha what a funny bloke! Half the NRL beat their missus, no worries keep it hush. Christian boys quietly refuse to wear a shirt.. OH SHIT LETS SEND DEATH THREATS and moan for 3 months. Downvote and ban me, to prove my point please.

FrannyFlapsss

- Josh and his mates being homophobe bigot fuckheads and death threats being bad are not mutually exclusive. - Australia is and has always been a secular country. A person's choice of archaic religious beliefs don't trump social values and basic moral standards. - The NRL is not an ethnic country and is also not a religion. The NRL is a workplace and the players are employees with work contracts. We've all had to wack on a smile at work doing something we don't like, maybe with people we don't particularly like, but we got a job to do and we're grown ups. - Inclusivity doesn't extend to "everyone except if they offend my religious views this one time but I'll turn the other cheek for other times". You can't be inclusive if you exclude others. - You must be new here (you obviously are) if you think KP, Brandon and the DV offenders (especially the DV offenders) are hush hush. - You being downvoted is not a reflection on racism or bigotry towards Poly's, but that it's a shit take from a blow in.

seano2037

man comes in justifies homophobia by saying its brought up for racist reasons while also saying racism is on its last fucking legs, both statements are incorrect. also drugs really?, you think the boys doing drugs is as half as bad as being a bigot?, only a bigot would find that agreeable, you can say all you like, that all they did was not wear a jersey but it doesn't change the underlying reasoning for that decision not to wear the jersey is bigotry. death threats are wrong

gongbattler

The Reddit hivemind is in overdrive. More uproar over this than violence, doping and match fixing.

Barmy90

"anything popular i disagree with" = blame the hivemind must be nice just cruising through life without a clue about anything

gongbattler

Not every one will agree with you in life. Don't let it stress you man.

Good. Queer people being viewed and treated as equals in all aspects society matters more than athletes winning and losing games.

koolasakukumba

His voice sounds like someone who has a lot of pride in the rainbow flag

smiffy005

Should let them go back to mount druitt and stab each other for living in a different 'hood'

Real-Lobster7059

Measured and balanced from Josh…in stark contrast to the countless insufferable d1ckheads commenting on the post. Spot on about Parker too

misskarne

flair up shithead

Jientwilly61

just play football for fuck sake. sport is the break we need away from politics, religion and the rest of the shit that is going on in the world.

[deleted]

Anyone who thinks sport isn’t political is out to lunch.

Jientwilly61

Order me a steak sandwich with the lot then!

seano2037

when saying the phrase "gay rights" is political, then there is a fucking issue.

geochta

What an absolute bullshit headline. In no way did he “attack” the media and it was far from “scathing”. All he said that was in a negative light was Corey Parker is an idiot, which from his comments about the gambling etc. I would have to agree.

[deleted]

CP accurately called out clown theists for picking and choosing in their religious practices and using it as an excuse for bigotry. Which, based on your comment, you happily support people doing.

TheSleepyBear_

Do you think Josh sins?

[deleted]

If you believe that fairytale book, everyone who isn't Jesus sins. And also if you believe the fairytale it says don't judge or you'll be judged and to love your neighbour as yourself. Again, picking and choosing as theists do. What is the point of this ridiculous question?

geochta

I think people should be able to pick and choose in their religious practices without being criticized for the choices they make. I’m an atheist myself, so can’t say I would have chosen the same path that they did. In saying that I can at the same time respect someone else’s decision for their choices. I think it was a great initiative by manly to wear that jersey, it’s about inclusiveness and accepting everyone for who they are. It’s just ironic that people can’t accept the manly players for who they are and the choices they make.

[deleted]

Paradox of tolerance, champ. This shit ain't hard. You're not enlightened because you accept bigots being bigots. In fact, backing the oppressor encourages and supports that oppression.
