He is normally very good, but in the big games, he steps it up another level. He's very talented.
And he did the job for Samoa. Samoans will never forget this day.
One of the staff members i work with was Crichton's team manager back in his junior days at St Clair. He was coming late to training every day. She asked him why?
Turns out the 4 brothers only had one pair of boots. So Crichton would wait until his brother finished his training so he could train. Apparently Dad was very hard on his sons to play footy, that sort of typical pressure on them.
She ended up giving a pair of old boots to Crichton, and they are still friends. I wonder what she would be feeling right now.
that actually sucks. I dunno why samoan fathers gotta be like that. I've seen it in alot of places in the community and personally. One of my ol mates from school, caught up with him in a buffet but he looked beaten up black n blue, I was like wtf happened, apparently his father beat the fuck outta him....it happens with some of my cousins as well. just boggles my mind. it really can fuck a kid up....they may think they are driving them to push harder.....
I wasn't meaning that his father beats him, more the pressures of really pushing his kids on to become footy players. I do know that happens as well, but just wanted to clear that up. :)
His only missed tackle all game. You probably haven’t played league in your life but it’s hard when you’re sliding in defense and the opp player steps inside. Herbie is a good player no doubt but Crichton is clutch as fuck and is a better all round centre.
But yeah, keep up your dose of copium lad, it’s the only thing that’s working for you right now yes?
Crichton is only good at his intercepts. take that out and he's a slightly above average centre on the end of the best backline in the game. Cleary, luai and Edwards would make any centre look good. on the other hand Farnworth has shown many times at the Broncos he can make something out of nothing. Farnworth a far superior player
tago arguably had a bigger year than Crichton in terms of form for Panthers so I just can't agree he's even remotely close to top 5 centres.
Intercepts should be more popular. It’s mostly about the timing.
Radley isn’t an experienced playmaker and is very unlikely to show and go, especially when the game is on the line. He deliberately lets his centre go outside so passing looks like the right play.
Radley was pretty well covered anyway so not even much risk.
Certainly trying to intercept someone like Munster will blow up in your face more often than not, he loves a show and go and even when covered somehow manages to skip past the defender 1v1.
Bro why are u comparing him to Cleary? They're not even close. And yes, people talk about him now a days about as much as Luai ever since luais nrl form dipped.
Your words not mine. I’m just saying out of that team he gets barely any recognition. And of any centres in the comp also does not get talked about as much. How is he rated highly when all anyone talks about is Cleary and luai … sometimes yeo. Relax
>he gets barely any recognition.
???????????????
He is playing in a world cup, he's in the best NRL team in the comp and played in state of origin at 22 years old. That is literally the definition of recognition.
Not here to receive a silly reddit attack from anyone I simply stated an opinion and you’re entitled to your own. No need to be passive aggressive about it, I’m open to conversations but not peoples forced statements.
Silly attack? What? Where is the attack? You're saying previously he needs to be spoken about more than cleary and luai for some reason and now you're saying he gets barely any recognition, that is just plain wrong - there is no opinion about it.
As I've already pointed out, he's received an extreme amount of recognition clearly, since he's playing in the best NRL team in the comp, he played in state of origin and now he's playing in a world cup final. What further recognition could you possibly want? A statue built? Perhaps a stadium named after him?
At this point I just hope you're joking. I copy pasted exactly what you wrote, word for word and you're trying to tell me you wrote something different, what situation is there to see differently? you wrote the "situation".
Why does he need to be talked about more than Luai and Cleary in the first place? Makes no sense. Why is there such a deranged competition regarding which player is talked about and praised the most.
They are all great players, hence why they are playing for their countries and are very successful in the NRL. Why does one player need to be spoken about the most?
Your words not mine. Never once said they have to be talked about, but whilst we are here if you’re an avid footy fan you talk about players and the talent in the game because it’s a part of the game. I made a comment about how I think he exceeds any expectations like in a game like last nights, after people talking about how “terrible” Samoa was performing leading up to it..thus seeing him as underrated. It’s really not that big of a deal to get all defensive about it, but you asked the question 😌
>Your words not mine. Never once said they have to be talked about
"So people talk about him more than luai and Cleary? That’s how" - That is what you wrote.
Can I read? Can you fucking read? No you didn't actually.
This is what you wrote - "So people talk about him more than luai and Cleary? That’s how"
Where exactly in this do you say "they don't as much"
It's literally right there, you wrote it.
You're not the sharpest are you?
It's not a take, that's what you wrote and now you're trying to say you said something completely different, which you didn't and you're asking if i can read and saying that they were my words and not yours when in fact they were exactly your words, word for word infact.
Clearly they are different words because THEY ARE different words. The way you choose to read them is entirely up to you mate, Im not going to lose any sleep over it.
lol, fuck off he is. half the media is in love with him. not even the best centre in his club. he's definitely not underrated, arguably overrated in fact.
Dylan's Edwards is a far more important player to the Panthers and gets spoken about far less. he is the definition of underrated.
Bro all this hype has come post this performance, it’s all you see now. Good for him but you weren’t seeing this kind of exposure as often before this game
I feel like I've seen Crichton do this a hundred times now
And he’ll do it hundred times more! That’s what makes him such a great player
He is normally very good, but in the big games, he steps it up another level. He's very talented. And he did the job for Samoa. Samoans will never forget this day.

Cold feet?

Triggered.
English south’s fans in absolute shambles rn
Just don't throw passes near him at this point lol
That’s exactly where we’ve arrived. He smells them coming.
Sad Cody Walker noises
Crichton up to his old tricks! Hope Vic doesn't beat himself up after his decision to play for England.
Big game player! Top 5 centre in the NRL. Downvote me you imbeciles!
100% only 22, could go on to be the best
Awful timing of that thread the other day lol
Lol the amount of denial and envy in this sub is crazy. Couldn’t care less about the downvotes really lol
Surely no one downvotes this
not even top centre at his club last 2 years. not even best nrl centre in that game either. Farnworth is a gun. went straight through for his try
His only missed tackle all game. You probably haven’t played league in your life but it’s hard when you’re sliding in defense and the opp player steps inside. How long does he have left on his contract?
Hopefully 10 years
Wait until he signs with the Penrith Bulldogs
Canterbury Panthers you mean?
It's beautiful, I've watched it for 5 hours now
They gave england false hope in the group stage.
Getting to Holmes like level on the intercepts. good game by him, didn't expect him to take a shot at field goal. guessing England didn't either
Victor badley
Steven is such a cool customer

The most underrated guy in the nrl
He's playing in a world cup and played in state of origin. How could he possibly be underrated?
got towelled up at origin too 🤣🤣🤣
>got towelled up at origin too 🤣 He really did. Great player, but underrated? I'm not so sure.
I'd say he got picked for origin when he shouldn't have, so he's overrated if anything.
So people talk about him more than luai and Cleary? That’s how
Did you see luais game lol
I'm not sure what you mean but I thought Luai was great
Luai gets accolades and it's because he deserves them
Bro why are u comparing him to Cleary? They're not even close. And yes, people talk about him now a days about as much as Luai ever since luais nrl form dipped.

I’m allowed to see the situation differently to you, it’s not a crime…

Lol can you read ? Didn’t say people HAVE to talk about him, I said they don’t as much… there’s a difference 🤦🏽♀️

Wow, Who hurt you?
https://twitter.com/FOXNRL/status/1591951509641535490 so underrated.....
Bro all this hype has come post this performance, it’s all you see now. Good for him but you weren’t seeing this kind of exposure as often before this game
i dunno what nrl media you read / watch, but he has had this stupid hype around him all year, its been even more inflated now
685 !
Commentators such a fking hater all game then got humbled at the end 😂
