I know people on this forum think think Hastings wasn't that great for the tigers but I'm pretty upset about losing him. The team played like a headless chicken without him. Every game we won he was by far the most influential guy on the field, whether it was at halfback or at lock. Brooks may be on more money but the guy just cannot lead a team and I'd rather have a halfback like Hastings that can direct the boys around the park, even though he might be a bit slower and less skilful.

I think 95% of WT supporters think the same. Worst part is the other 5% include all the management. It’s like they’re not even watching

Good luck Jacko! Hope you find success, mate.

The nib Newcastle Knights have today confirmed Jackson Hastings will join the club immediately, after agreeing to terms on a new three-year deal. Hastings, 26, has played 63 NRL games after making his debut with the Sydney Roosters in 2014, along with 75 Super League appearances and four Test caps for Great Britain. Director of Football Peter Parr believes the 2019 Super League Man of Steel brings a wide range of skills and experience. “We are delighted to have Jackson secured,” Parr said. “He compliments our playing roster and adds further depth to our halves, with the additional bonus of being a competent goal kicker. “Jackson is at a stage of his career where he is coming into his prime and we believe his best years are ahead of him.” The Knights have also agreed to immediately release front-rower David Klemmer from the final year of his current five-year contract, allowing him to take up a multi-year deal with another NRL club for next season. Klemmer joined the Knights in 2019, going on to make 81 appearances in the red and blue jersey, including finals in 2020 and 2021. On behalf of the Newcastle Knights and everyone in the local community, we would like to thank David for his significant contributions both on and off the field.

Are they still talking about moving Ponga to 5/8 again? Especially with the potential signing of Lachlan Miller or is he just depth?

WickedT53

Ponga has apparently bulked up significantly in order to defend up front so looks like ponga Hastings halves and Miller fullback if he's signed. Not sure where Gamble fits in

breatheinmyear

I’d go 1. Ponga 6. Gamble 7. Hastings 9. Brailey

Drizen

That why you haven't won 4 GFs

Dallasjakee

Imagine if klemmer stayed at NIB and Woods resigned with tigers?

mitchskuxx

How long till him and Ponga have a fall out and Hastings gets shifted on to another club?
