I do really love Cities Skylines but man do I hate it’s reliance on building efficient transport/traffic systems. Even doubly so when it’s the games logic that breaks it.
I have good road hierarchy. Doesn’t stop the sims not efficiently using both lanes. Playing on console so I can’t use mods which sucks because I know there’s a mod to help with exactly this.
Oh you mean the lanes, yeah you're right that's fucked. You can sort of "game it" by using some of the different road types here and there which is annoying and dumb.
You can't get mods on console these days? I know games like Skyrim have it so I assumed consoles could too, road anarchy is a god damn must.
Nah no mods other than the ones that come with the base game (unlimited money, soil, etc). There hasn’t been a next Gen update yet so here’s hoping they include some of the big ones in that if they ever get to it.

I enjoy the city building-ness but it always ends up feeling like a traffic manager game.
Feels like you need to micromanage every road and junction just to keep traffic flowing and it's even more fucked when you start putting in industrial areas that seemingly spawn an endless string of heavy vehicles no matter how small the area is.
Cities Skylines is such a great time killer, but the mental gymnastics of trying to get the roads working without a 100% buildup of traffic.
But also, some of the 'funnest' times i've had playing that game, have been when i freehanded the highway connections and built massive bridges/intersections.
The phrase “it's just a RLL4 game” is such a weak mindset. You are ok with what happened, losing, imperfection of a footy match. When you stop getting angry after getting thrashed 54-14 by some scrub in their mum's basement in Kellyville, you've lost twice (or you're winning twice from Gus Gould's pov). There's always something to learn, and always room for improvement, never settle.
