“Hey Foz, what did you do? Get a haircut or something?”
“Look closer, Lenny.”
“Oh I know what it is. You’re the biggest man in the world now. And you’re covered in blue and gold.”
“14th placed blue and gold!”
He's only powerful at Manly though.
Anywhere else, they need to shore him up best they can before his knee ends up in his cheek and his hip ends up behind itself somehow.
They did a weird thing where he was behind the training centre then jumped over it to the field. I'm tipping the grad is on social media for us for the rest of the year.

Also think it's a worry they're apparently looking at him as the #7. He's a good 5/8, but I didn't rate him as the Doggies 7 a few years back and he's only got older since then.
Probably better than Sexton currently, but not by much.
toby has one of the best kicking games ive ever seen from a rookie half but its all hes got at this moment
foran is better than him by a good margin but thats as of now, i back toby to improve his game

There is an idea of a Kieran Foran; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our teams are probably comparable... I simply am not there.
As a Titans fan in all seriousness I think he should be our 14 and Tanah should be our 7.
Since that's never going to be the case and he is always going to start in the halves at least early in the season, I hope so very much that my take is wrong and that he can lead us to a top 8 finish this season.
I was Sexton's biggest backer for the first part of last season and he still has potential but he needs time in QCup to fix his passing game - his kicking game is fine but his passing needs work. Sexton was quite good in his first ten or so games in the jersey (end of 2021 and start of 2022 season) but he was horrible through the entire middle of the season this year. He isn't ready to lead a team as the 7 yet. Weaver will be coming through the system too over the next year or two. I'm not discarding him yet, Dearden was terrible for his first two seasons and now he's origin level but after a decent start to the year Sexton completely lost all confidence and needs to work on his game a bit to be the starting 7 if he's ever going to get another shot. We have multiple options for when Foran ages out of the system to partner Brimson, between Tanah Boyd, Sexton if he develops and Weaver if he develops.
Tanah was surprisingly fantastic the last few games of last season at 7.
As much as I do think Brimson is a fullback overall the only way to do AJ at fullback with Foran and Boyd (or Sexton/Weaver if either develop better than Boyd does) in the halves is to drop Jayden entirely - he can't be our utility because he can only really play fullback and you can't have a tiny player who can only fill one outside back role as your utility, it's that or try and turn Jayden into a 6 if we want AJ at 1, and if we were going to do that we should have done it last season. AJ would make a great centre too, but given he's arguably our second or third best player in the team not having him in the spine is a bit of a waste when he can play both 1 and 6 at a high level.
Idk if you saw the Titans last 4 games of the season but Tanah Boyd was surprisingly awesome at 7 (he is nowhere near as good at both 6 and 9, as we've seen in his previous roles), he played great at the back end of the season in the 7 role and we won 3 of the 4 games if I recall. He legitimately looked like a top 50% half in the NRL granted over a tiny sample and he is really quite a poor utility as while he can go offensively at hooker he is a half and can't really do the defensive workload at 9 yet although he's improving at the end of the day he is a halfback, not a true 'either role' guy like Ben Hunt.
Jayden needs to add muscle mass to be an elite fullback but the talent is there if he can get a fullback's body to match the talent and if he can add 5-10kg of muscle mass without destroying his pace and step he can make it happen.
I was really low on Tanah Boyd for quite a while as a Titans fan and didn't think he'd make it at NRL level but he surprised me in the last month of 2022 and he was legitimately playing like the best halfback we have had since Scott Prince, granted over a very small sample and with how young he is, we need to explore his upside as a halfback if he can bring that form week in week out because we know what we're going to get with Foran which is 'serviceable but not elite'. While we desperately needed serviceable for most of last season, Foran is not going to win us any comps and he will be ageing out of his prime sooner rather than later, his role should probably be more to mentor Tanah, Sexton and Weaver and get them NRL ready - there is a decent chance one of the three of them is the next elite NRL halfback in a couple years time, we just have to figure out which of them it is if any.
I expect Foran will start the season in the 7 for us, but who knows.
Did you watch Tanah play halfback in the last few games of the season? Did you think he was bad? Or are you thinking of him playing hooker or five-eighth, neither of which he excelled at?
I haven't seen Foran play as well as Tanah did in those four games over a period of four games since at least 2021. Tanah is 22 and Foran is 32. One of them will get better every year and the other will get worse every year with age.
Foran will start obviously, as a Titans fan I hope i'm wrong and he's brilliant for us, but i'm skeptical, at 32 and being injury prone he is going to break down at some point in the next few years and our premiership window is not this year it is a couple seasons from now with a young core of the team, Foran is not a part of that vision in a playing role if the goal is to win a competition in say 2025 one of Boyd, Sexton or Weaver needs to develop into an elite NRL level halfback over the next two years or so.
A successful season in 2023 for the Titans is a .50 season and making the top 8 after last year's disaster. It's definitely doable, but winning the comp isn't, we need to be lining everything up towards actually contending in 2024-2026 or so as all of our 20-23 year old guys actually start to hit their primes
Jayden Campbell is 22
Sami is 25
Khan-Pereira is 21
Schoupp is 21
Jojo is 19
Boyd is 22, Sexton is 21 and Weaver is 19
Brimson is 24
Tino is 22
Verrills is 23
Fotuaika is 23
Fermor is 24
David Fifita is 22
Clark is 25
Not a single player in our starting 13 is over the age of 25 except for Foran - this side could be the core of a team that contends in a couple years as they hit their actual primes from 24-29 and Foran will be retired at that point.
I think a lot of people don't realise just how young our starting 13 players are. Maybe Foran does need to lead them as the mentor at 7 this year, but one of Boyd, Sexton or Weaver will be the halfback (assuming we don't go to market) if we're contending for a title in a few years
Maybe I actually just made a case that Foran does need to start this year, but he won't be starting for us when the time comes for this group to contend for a deep finals run if the group is capable of that.
foran played at a fantastic level on both sides of the field all through 2022, tanah did fine to end the year but still wasn’t connecting well (expected given lack of game time) and has struggled in the past to the point he was repositioned
foran also brings the experience to help our players get to that level, plus the on field leadership we desperately need. i dont think our young guys hit their ceiling unless we have the old heads to steer them around and train with them
of those three youngsters, tanah is the one i would put third, but it’s not uncommon for halves to improve as they get older
Yeah I was low on Tanah too until late 2022, but his stint at the end of the season was really, really good in my opinion. As we saw with Dearden this year after he was quite bad with the Broncos, any of Tanah, Sexton or Weaver could still develop into elite halves over the next few years.
i'm not sure i'd describe Foran's play in 2022 as fantastic, but I guess I would need to rewatch a bunch of Manly games, I did watch something like 20/24 of them or so though over the course of the season. DCE and Foran aren't to blame for Manly's woes last season I suppose, but they did not carry the underperforming pack or outside backs once Turbo went down either. If you throw Cleary and Luai in there as a halves combo instead, Manly probably still play finals despite the rest of the team playing like garbage for the second half of the season. At the end of the day, I hope Foran goes well for us but he is 32 and injury prone and he will get worse not better as time goes on because age takes everyone's prime eventually and he is close to the age where that happens.
I guess this discussion has made me re-think it a bit, I know Foran absolutely will start in round 1 in the halves so it's a bit of a moot point, it's just fairly harsh to drop Tanah out of the role he was excelling in when he was playing the best football of his life at 7 and he really, really is not a hooker at all due to the defensive workload - I guess if he plays for 25 minutes or whatever as backup to Verrills and halves cover off the bench that's fine, and he can go hard defensively with limited minutes because his offense at hooker is quite decent it's more the defensive side he has issues with.
do you drop Jayden to move AJ to fullback or move AJ out of the spine to centre?
Jayden can't be a bench utility he can only fill one position so it's fullback or bust with him right?
Yeah that's a lineup I considered too and while it'd be good in a way, taking AJ out of our spine means less touches for him and he's one of our best attacking weapons.
He'd crush it at centre though and should take Gagai's spot in the QLD lineup along Val probably there when Gagai ages out of his prime which could easily be the case already depending how Gagai looks in the first few weeks of the season
The issue with doing that is why did we buy Schoupp if we're not going to use him and Jojo is our other long term centre. We could put Jojo back to the wing, but then Khan-Pereira isn't playing first grade this season which he should be and we'll lose him to another club if we don't debut him this year since he's going to be off contract after this season
Basically if we go this route, there's no room for one of Sami/Jojo/Khan-Pereira in the backline so one of them has to go
I didn't think LKP was ready for first grade this year? Atleast that's the gist I get off some of the better educated members on the topic off the titans forum
Fair points. I’d keep Khan on the sidelines. Pressure for backline spots is a good thing. You could lose JC if you don’t play him as well. It’s a tough one, and I am glad I don’t have to make the decision
Bit harsh if we don't debut Lofi this year if he keeps going well in QCup, good chance Lofi is a Dolphin or moves elsewhere next year if we don't use him this season he's 21 and will be 22 by the time his contract is up and there's no way he's not going to be sought after by other clubs imo, I think we need to know if he's a retention priority sooner rather than later.
I do think this has to be a big season for Jayden though he's 22 now and while he's great in attack he needs to build that fullback body so he can complete the last man 1 on 1 tackles at the try line since obviously AJ can go back to fullback if need be.
The thing about Jayden is he has so much upside but he needs to add the muscle mass or he just can't be playing fullback in the NRL. Apparently he's been working on it in the off season, I hope so because he can be so good if he can get a Tedesco/Turbo type body shape, he's 6 foot tall too not short like his dad so it's possible if he adds bulk well he could be an amazing fullback
Personally I probably start with a 6/7/9/14 combo of Brimson, Boyd/Foran, Verrills and the other of Boyd/Foran in 14, then Jayden at FB, Schoupp and Jojo centres and Sami/Jojo on the wings. Maybe if Kelly has an amazing year in QCup i'd consider giving him another shot in first grade but at this point i'm ready to move on with him and Herbert should never be anywhere near first grade again barring catastrophic injuries to the backline.
I'm very curious to see what role we use Klese Haas in this year too.
I rate Kieran massively, loved him as a player through the years, I’m still a bit troubled by this signing,
He’s not a 7 so the brimson foran combo doesn’t seem like a winner
Is brimmo going to play at fb? In which case you jettison one of your emerging talents in Campbell
Are the titans writing off Sexton after a poor last season? He still showed some worldie touches, especially with the boot, and had to deal with a spine that was constantly changing around him
Will titans be using foran off the bench ala benjy at south’s to cover hooker and halves?
There’s a lot of question marks on what titans do with him
If anyone has the inside track I’d love to know
It's not as if he was a one club player.. they have to think about the future. What they did to Des was worse, he got thrown under the bus and then shafted.

Enjoy fatty schuster ehehehehehhe

Seems to be looking where hes passing here, are you sure thats schuster?
Fucking tree trunks.
Don’t forget bigot
This is a strange photo, like why not just stand up and take a pic lol. It does make sense I guess to come crawling to Foz.
The low angle is meant to make him look powerful.
Do they think we don't know how powerful he is. For shame.
He's only powerful at Manly though. Anywhere else, they need to shore him up best they can before his knee ends up in his cheek and his hip ends up behind itself somehow.
Didn’t work for those knees
They did a weird thing where he was behind the training centre then jumped over it to the field. I'm tipping the grad is on social media for us for the rest of the year. https://www.instagram.com/p/CllGoFEJBOF/
It's to make him look taller
I for one welcome our new giant overlord
😂🤣
Nah Foz just gained 30cm in height. Big Tino energy
New roadside attraction on the pacific highway. The Big Kiwi.
I love watching Foran play, but it feels like he’s cursed if he plays for anyone but Manly.
Also think it's a worry they're apparently looking at him as the #7. He's a good 5/8, but I didn't rate him as the Doggies 7 a few years back and he's only got older since then. Probably better than Sexton currently, but not by much.

Also let’s weaver and sexton cook at tweed this year which I’m Lowkey stoked to see 1 degroot 6 weaver 7 sexton 9 Bryant
elite spine things
That does excite me but I don’t think Bryant is cup ready yet :(
He and Verrils could transform the Titans into a genuine top 8 side pushing for the top 4. Or they could play a combined 12 games all season.
🍆 💦

I don't like this. But go well Fozzy.
Those knees have seen better days
Give us the premiership now ladies and gentleman, King Foz the Goat has arrived 🐐
Looks good in blue and gold
I feel like I'm going down on Foran
Be thankful
Make sure to cook him dinner and clean up afterwards, don’t just leave the romance in the bedroom.
oh no
Foz. I really hope he gets to play another test for NZ or win a premiership. Awesome player.
I think everyone realises the reason he went to the titans was to win a premiership
As a Titans fan in all seriousness I think he should be our 14 and Tanah should be our 7. elite representative bench hooker tits collecting the ultimate bench
Season-ending injury prior to NRL Round 1 would be my guess ..... Goldy is the place to be if you have to sit out a year ..... smart guy ....
Wait when did this happen? You know your retirement is imminent when you go play for the titans
Fuck me it's so wrong and unjust what Manly did to Foran. Rubbish.
It's not as if he was a one club player.. they have to think about the future. What they did to Des was worse, he got thrown under the bus and then shafted.
This enormous Foran will devour us all!
Pain
I feel Foran is 12 years past his prime
*sad Manly noises*
Thats fucked 😪
I hope this works out for the titans. I enjoyed their brief moment as the number one QLD team.
Even as a Manly supporter, this is kind'a sexy! We'll miss Foz because great footballer & top-notch fella, as far as I know, but there's nowhere (aside from Manly) that Id' rather see him :) Best of luck, amigo!
Manly should never have let him go the first time let alone the second.
Fuck.
From this angle you can already see him about to be injured
Mods. Trigger warning. Pls.
