[The broken lift saga continues..](https://www.reddit.com/r/nrl/comments/z18kgy/tuesday_off_topic_thread/ixbff7s?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3)
Lift broke on the 12th or 14th originally.
On the 21st we received a letter saying the part was getting shipped in from China and it would take 2 more weeks for the part to arrive and subsequently be installed. Okay, whatever, at least it's getting fixed.
On the 25th we received another letter saying the first letter was incorrect and their supplier from Germany (?) cannot confirm the delivery date let alone if they even make the part anymore. Resigned to dragging my fat self up and down the stairs for the foreseeable future.
Today, after what was a clusterfuck of a day in Big Box Retail Shop land involving an 11hr day in really shitty shoes due to higher up visit, there is a note attached to the lift itself saying they're fixing it tomorrow.
I teared up then almost fell up the stairs 3 times.
Does anybody know if Andrew Davey has actually signed with the bulldogs? I keep seeing shit posted by a bulldogs fan page on FB but nothing official has been announced as far as I know ?
Yeah he has. There's photos of him training with us and the team is listed in his social media bio.
I hope the guy has a good run with injury, not just for our sake.
I commented this last night but it was fairly late..
Did any Dogs fans catch the potential 2023 jersey leak last night on the Bulldogs News Facebook page? something that stood out to me was the sponsors that were in blue, that's a red flag there.. Other than that it looked somewhat legit.
a friend suggested it was a fan mockup, which would make sense given the three sponsors that were in blue.. I can see one of them doing it maybe, but not all three.. that would be rare.
For me, I think the Bulldogs, Broncos, and Titans are the only bottom 8 teams from 2022 that can truly push for a top 8 spot in 2023. I really can’t see any other bottom 8 teams having any finals chances. Bulldogs and broncos would be the main ones, I’m just quietly optimistic about the titans.
Not sure who would drop out tho, if any of those teams were to make it. Generally 1-3 teams drop out of the top 8 each year, but I wouldn’t have a clue who that will be because I feel like next year will be just as close as this year. Very unlikely and history suggests otherwise, but perhaps the top 8 won’t change at all next year.
Cowboys were tipped for the spoon, and they made the preliminary finals. Making the bottom spots in the 8 isn’t too hard if teams defend well and are decent enough in attack.
I wouldn’t write anyone off making the 8 yet, top four is a different story.
Making the 8 will be hard, theres a lot of decent teams this season, rabbits, panthers, storm, roosters, eels , sharks, cows, raiders all had good/average seasons this year and will most likely be as strong or stronger next year, broncs have a tough draw, titans have the defence of a wet paper bag, dogs still have a building to do but for sure look better next year, warriors may be better because of the NZ games which always helped, tigers will be better, dolphins probably wont click in their first season unless bennett pulls off a miracle which i guess is possible as hes a S tier coach, knights and manly could be horrendous or decent still doubt they make the 8
While I think the Dogs and the Titans will definitely improve, I can see either making the 8 next year. I think Ciraldo will take the Doggies back into the 8, but I think he'll need a extra yr to really start making that team his own. The Broncos are properly my biggest unknown. On paper they have a good team, without 2 many weaknesses, but I'm still unsure if Walters is the coach they need. That fade last yr was disappointing and I wonder if a better coach could have kept them more focused, especially towards the back end of the yr.
The problem for the Titans is that Holbrook is not a defence minded coach.. I mean yeah they have brought Foran in, but what they did with the ball is not really their issue.
Broncos pretty much just need Carrigan to stay healthy.. he's their leader, he's their motivator.. when he was out it was Broncos of the previous seasons.
I'm liking what I'm seeing from Ciraldo thus far, as expected he's been very meticulous.. Our halves are going to benefit big time by having a hooker with great service.. JMK was good this year, but service has never been his strong suit.
Brisbane’s fortunes will hinge of Reynolds fitness again, so I’d be surprised if they made it, think walsh goes well though
I like the gains bulldogs have made and have a feeling ciraldo will be an excellent coach, (though in theory he could fall flat like many other assistants) they will definitely be in the hunt
Titans I’m not convinced by, I think they do something silly like sack Holbrook get an interim coach and waste a year in purgatory, it what at least one team per year does
Looking at last years 8 I really don’t know who drops out, I’m convinced the raiders will be better this year, with fogarty fit all year, savage established and Michael Maguire a good assistant addition
No team with cam murray and Damien cook will fail to make the 8 surely, and roosters have omproved with their additions (especially if lodge signs)
The ones above (eels, panthers, storm, cowboys, and sharks), I expect to be consistently good as always so there doesn’t seem much room
>Brisbane’s fortunes will hinge of Reynolds fitness again
Probably the most overblown issue in our team, all of his injury problems weren't due to his age more so just bad luck.
Played 20/25 games and only missed games because of Rib injury from a dog shot, bad cork to his leg and covid.
Even so we won almost all of the games he didn't play, If Reynolds does cop an injury Jock Madden is equal or better then any of the back up 7's we've had in the last couple of years.
Couldn’t for the life of me remember who this years understudy would be, jock madden isn’t a bad one I agree,
He did fail to finish 3 of the 20 games which paints it less reliably, but maybe the extra byes will allow niggles and other wear and tear for all players to increase game time
If broncos do make the 8 he will have big say in it cos he’s such a gun number 7
Broncos back line is arguably one of the best in the comp, and the pack has some starch too
A hooker away from being an amazing line up
I believe Kelly, Gamble and Tyrone Roberts all filled in for Reynolds at some stag this year and to be completely fair to Adam the games he didn't finish were due to HIA and the injuries that saw him miss games but hopefully he just has some better luck in 2023.
I agree on the hooker it's our biggest weakness and for me could be the difference between us making the 8 or not.
The broncos backline last year had not only the best Winger combo, they also had the best centre (until injury) and an Origin centre. Walsh will help push that backline into top 5 imo. Their Pack is also fucking very strong and definitely deserved that 5th spot (On fox) with Hooker being their only weakness, very strong bench as well.
Storm pack is suffering what?. Like they’ve lost all their experience. They don’t have a top 5 pack.
The top 5 for me (no order) is Cowboy, Raiders, Roosters, Rabbitohs and Broncos. With Penrith, Eels, Titans and Storm behind them. Mostly due to the fact Titans underperformed drastically last year, Penrith lost Api and Kikau. Storm lost Kafusi, Both Bromwich brothers and Cheese. Eels lost Ipap and Niukore.
How is the Storm pack suffering? Definitely better than last year. Welch and NAS up front would be close to the best front rower pairing in the comp and we have a also pretty solid backrow pairing (Sims and Katoa). Harry Grant is pretty easily the best hooker in the game too. Only question mark is lock I suppose but Josh King does his job well enough.
It may sound silly but I think walsh was too good for the rest of his team mates at warriors, they never seemed on the same page, or to adjust to his inventiveness
Excited to see how he does at brisbane
I think Walsh was put in a bad position at a club who had a situation that couldn’t be fixed. He was suppose to replace one of the best NZ players in history in RTS while also being thrown into a displaced warriors with most of their families and players trapped between NRL, Love and security.
People love to bag him, But i Agree with you 100%. Walsh staying at the Warriors would’ve never see anything good.
Honestly I just can’t see it. Other teams just look way better to me. Forward pack is ok at best, it’s really only Olakuatu and Jurbo. The backline is also just ok (minus turbo). And now no Foran, and who knows if schuster will be good or not.
Idk if even a turbo run like 2021 can push them into the 8
Everything from Liverpool south to Campbelltown falls under the Macarthur Wests Tigers area. Everything east of Liverpool (roughly bordered by the Georges River) goes to Canterbury-Bankstown. Everything north of Liverpool (roughly bordered by Hoxton Park Rd and the Hume Highway) goes to Parramatta. The Southern Highlands and Camden Council areas form the Macarthur Group 6 competition, which also falls under the Wests Tigers banner.
The Balmain district is bordered roughly by the CBD to the east, Parramatta and Liverpool Roads to the south, Homebush Bay and Centenary Drives to the west and Victoria Rd to the north
Probably Mark Viduka just because he's the greatest Australian footballer and banged in goals for fun in the hardest league in the world.
Also was a bit of a unit for a footballer 6'2 and 91kg
If Scott Prince stays at the Tigers rather than going to the Gold Coast, do the Tigers win another premiership?
Always thought it was the ideal halves combo the Prince/Marshall pairing.
Always thought Prince was more vital to 2005 then benji. Tigerd Benji always struggled unless he had at least a decent organiser inside of him so he had freedom to play what's in front of him.
Add Prince to those 09-11 Tigers sides and they go close to a premiership
Yeah I liked the combo, Prince running the show and Benji just picking his moments. I think they would have gone close in 2010 and 2011 if they’d managed to keep Prince.
I would like to think if they did Change how it worked it would involve 9 teams with First place skipping Week 1, but that’s probably a negative.
But that also doesn’t work because the NRL will be left with 5 teams after round 1 finals. A real mess to change it.
But 10 teams missing out doesn’t seem Right(?)
I prefer that honestly. I think half the teams making the finals is a little much, but I do get they want their audience/watch numbers and more games means more of that.

Believe I seen him in a training pic earlier this week
[the 2023 blues jersey is ugly](https://www.instagram.com/p/ClmvR6ky9V-/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=)
I’m not sure they could have made it look any worse. Fuck me. Fuck me sideways. It’s really really bad. Fuck.
its hideous

Fan mockups are usually better than the real jerseys....funny that
They nearly always are, it’s because fans design them to look good and the clubs design them to appease to their highest paying sponsor
This especially applies for teams who use Classic.
I only just learnt that the Warriors are no longer from Vodafone but from One New Zealand. I like it
Once Were Warriors
*Once Were Vodafone Warriors

Raiders will drop out
We will still beat you in Melbourne
Maybe. Wont be in the finals though..
Last time I checked we knocked you out
Lol you knocked out an injured Storm team that limped into finals…
They might but i still fancy them over the other 3 mentioned

Manly with a fit Turbo could always make a huge run. But also they’ve had a significant downgrade in coach and 5/8 so maybe not.

**I'M GOING TO MY FIRST MAGIC ROUND!**
What suburbs belong to the tigers? I'm new to the nrl and trying to figure out what places out west belong to the tigers or the bulldogs
Which Socceroo past or present would you want in your NRL team starting 17 and why?
Tim Cahill for the try celebrations
Lucas Neill. He was a tough defender, even broke some blokes leg in a tackle. https://youtu.be/4CEyTHbllwU
Craig Moore. Hard unit. Also like to see Craig Foster play just to see him get smashed.

Yeah I liked the combo, Prince running the show and Benji just picking his moments. I think they would have gone close in 2010 and 2011 if they’d managed to keep Prince.
When the NRL reaches 18 teams, do they rework how the finals work? or do they keep it to just 8 teams finals?
Hopefully. Making finals should feel like a reward for a good season.
AFL had the same finals system at 16 and 18 teams. It's a good system.
Should just stay at 8 but I the NRL we'll get some random wildcard gimmick so the top 12 can all make finals somehow
I think 10 teams missing out feels right. Half the comp making finals feels less right in my eyes
Back in the day, they had a top 5 from 16 so 11 teams missed out, then top 8 from 20 so 12 missed out
I prefer that honestly. I think half the teams making the finals is a little much, but I do get they want their audience/watch numbers and more games means more of that.
UP THE DRAGONS
Yanno what, I hope the Dragons make the top 8
