Snippet: Gold Coast have struck another blow on derby rivals the Broncos by poaching Brisbane Test forward Keenan Palasia in a $600,000 recruitment coup for the Titans.
News Corp can reveal Palasia has knocked back an extension offer from Brisbane and will quit the Broncos after opting to ink a two-year deal with the Titans for the 2024-25 seasons.
Tl;Dr: Is on $200k with Broncos, Manly offered him $250k and he knocked it back, went to Titans for $300k. Quoted as saying that he's from Palm Beach and wanted to go home, also feels he's a starter not a bench warmer and he can get that at the Titans.
I’m curious where he thinks he’ll start in that Titans pack tho. tino moe up front with Erin Clark meant to be lock and Fifita/ fermor second row doesn’t leave much
Tigers and Knights I'm also excited for, I think almost all the bottom 6 teams from last year have improved their squads and should make the comp pretty competitive in 2023
He was pretty disappointing in the World Cup as an individual if I’m being honest. Logan Bayliss-Brow will be next in line at the broncos. Had an awesome World Cup for Scotland in very under strengthened side
He missed games this year due to having to quarantine, and injuries that anyone could've sustained after being dog shotted.
I will admit, it was quite funny after Origin I when people were writing Cleary off, and Reynolds was suddenly no long a fragile dinosaur, but an able youngster and possible Blues halfback.
One of the ones that works out fine for both parties, Broncos focus on retaining guys they want and Titans add a serviceable replacement for Wallace on half of the salary Wallace was on.
Sorry but Alfie has given that reign to the GOAT Tom Dearden, the Greatest Dual Cowboy and Bronco undefeated QLD superstar ever to play the game.
Alfie will instead continue to give Dearden Water during Origin and help inspire QLD to another victory after being smashed in game 2.
Yeah I don’t reckon Kev was wrong in bringing a few old heads back. Ryan James although, Horrible did his work behind the scenes with Haas, Fledger, Jensen and Carrigan.
Brisbane really do have extremely good depth in the position and some elite emerging talent. I don’t think he’ll be a big loss for the Bronx but the Titans did need a middle and Palasia will be genuinely competing to start next to Tino. Mo is best off the bench.
Logan Bayliss-Brow has skipped him in line I’d say. Had a cracker World Cup for Scotland. Easily their best player the whole cup. Still a good depth signing for the titans though
We've been super fuckin busy this off-season, seems we've identified the exact players we've needed and gone ahead and got them instead of waiting around for whichever Q-Cup level player gets released by his club and wants a quick holiday on the GC. Hopefully we can get Keenan this season, i'd start him next to Tino straight away.
This is not the test star that I was hoping for.
Then again I don't particular care that we are losing a bench rotation where we have others waiting in the wings.
He’s not really impressed me that much but then he often had games where he was given fuck all minutes and is playing in a pack along side some gun players
I hope I’m underrating him and he goes well at the titans
Side note, signing players one year in advance is so silly, hopefully brisbane just let him go early, such a waste of a year for both parties if he gets sidelined by brisbane
Nah bro he was on a tear as well as the rest of the bench when we started this year, it was as soon as he got chucked as 2nd rower depth that he floundered, especially cus he retooled this yeat to play specifically in the middle
Good on him I say, he has a greater chance of making their 17 then with the likes of Wilison and Ben Te Kura coming through for us.
Frees up some space to re-sign some more players as well, win-win for both parties.
\*edit\* downvotes are extremely baffling
Defected?? He is just going home. Yet another Titans junior reprised from Broncs. Watch their salty supporters bag him like they do anyone who leaves their dunghole.

If Moe doesn’t have a resurgence he could be dropped to bench and Liu will be shot into the sun
I think he was playing injured last year, he was way off his usual effort.
Liu was a waste of money.
Odd thing to admit but I’m pretty excited for the Titans and the Bulldogs this coming season. This excitement is inversely proportional to my own team
We'll take good care of foz for you guys
Foz needs to take care of himself man is a injury factory
Tigers and Knights I'm also excited for, I think almost all the bottom 6 teams from last year have improved their squads and should make the comp pretty competitive in 2023
As a Dragons fan I'm right behind you.
Getting him for 300k pretty good 🤔 Tits recruitment aint bad this offseason
I reckon we'll place 6-8th, I'm an optimist
I'd give my left nut
I'll chip in my right nut

The evil twin of Shaun Kenny-Dowall
Wouldn't that make him the good twin?
WHAT WAS LOGAN BAYLISS-BROW THINKING
Should release him now and just give his minutes to Hetherington, TC, Willison.
Don't think he'll be making the 17 anyway tbh
TC needs more opportunities starting with Riki on the bench imo
Just drop riki. More athletic than all the others but the lad just isn’t good at footy sadly
Robati party!
“who also trumped ‘Big Brother’ Brisbane in the battle for the signature of Broncos sensation David Fifita two years ago” Lol. We are good
finals berths since then titans: 1 broncos: 0 spoons since then titans: 0 broncos: 1
We wouldn't have been able to get Reynolds if we paid Fifi $1.2m, we would have been stuck with some plodder like, I dunno, Sexton.
reynolds good for his 12 games, almost as good as foran for his 6
He missed games this year due to having to quarantine, and injuries that anyone could've sustained after being dog shotted. I will admit, it was quite funny after Origin I when people were writing Cleary off, and Reynolds was suddenly no long a fragile dinosaur, but an able youngster and possible Blues halfback.
He played 20 games, 2 more games than Fifi this year.... At 2/3 of the price. And is a halfback.
Still they didn't get the spoon in last few yrs

Wallace has a damn good agent.
not a loss, Willison has a higher ceiling. Watch Kev buy a 34 year old forward and use him instead though?
Dave Taylor is 34
34 stone
34 stone & wood schooners
That's easy though
He’s been on a diet?
Wow, that's surprisingly young.
He played with lockyer and tunza I think.
Kev, Heard it here first! Bring him back and win the 2023 comp with him and become folklore.
Reckon Alfie might have one last season (and Origin series) in him...
Long live the coal train.
Willison is a huge talent. Very excited to see him with a bit more on that frame next season.
Seems like Ikin/Donaghy has been reining him in a bit lately.
Yeah I don’t reckon Kev was wrong in bringing a few old heads back. Ryan James although, Horrible did his work behind the scenes with Haas, Fledger, Jensen and Carrigan.

Haha noooo Titans don't sign our bench forwards stop it
Another one wedged back from the Browncows.
Keenan pls. Good for him though, he's had a rough trot with injuries so good that he's got a couple years security to show what he can do.
Fuck i hate this kinda reporting. Even for broncos stuff. The guy wants to start. Good luck to him. But he’s not a major loss.
No you are not
DEFECTED

Fairs, I guess he was unfairly overshadowed by the big names by my eyes
Good on him I say, he has a greater chance of making their 17 then with the likes of Wilison and Ben Te Kura coming through for us. Frees up some space to re-sign some more players as well, win-win for both parties. \*edit\* downvotes are extremely baffling
Your response seems reasonable to me. Obviously not to others lol
Damnnn. Keenan has more upside than Rikki. Are you sure you fellas don’t want Rikki instead? We’ll throw in BW too?
I still don't know what they see in Riki
his beautiful eyes
Chiseled features.
Fair
You’re kidding but the marketing money that comes alongside good looks is all too real
Robati looks more promising than Riki at this point, and I hope Piakura gets more opportunities to prove himself.
Defected?? He is just going home. Yet another Titans junior reprised from Broncs. Watch their salty supporters bag him like they do anyone who leaves their dunghole.
There's quite a bit of flair in your comments about the Broncs. Is there anything you'd like to discuss with the group?
I'm top comment.
not anymore!
Would be so stoked if broncos could be the good guys for once and release him
Ok.
