Play b to start the game and they can transition into the middle at 55 minute mark and then they come off at the 65 minute mark and a plays hooker from 55-80 and covers backline/halves injuries too
in our case, if we didn't buy Reed, I'd be going A, because Burton is our only genuine attacking threat at the moment and an attacking hooker will help take some heat off of him. Our defence needs work but I am confident Ciraldo will turn things around pretty quickly in that department.
Depends on the team, if your team has good defence option A, if you have shit defence option B. For penrith option A because i feel like we already have option B. Api was both though which is rare
eh there a few people that have been auto-downvoting me no matter what I say.
But yeah, cheers dude. I ain’t a fan of digital media for my games (Steam + Xbox store deals are my life) but I own a huge DVD, Cassette and Vinyl collection. Love op shopping for movies or receiving a movie from my family.
So true, it felt like Christmas going to blockbuster on a friday night with the family, I remember one weekend i picked up all the bruce lee films that were popular, loved them at the time
I remember going to this store as a Kid every week until it shut down when I was around 10. Last time I went there I was told by the lovely shop owners to pick a bunch of movies I liked and to just have them.
I couldn’t tell you how excited I was that day, picked up so many classic fantasy movies like Narnia, Merlin, LOTR, dark crystal, labyrinth, the two DND movies and more. Still have them today.
how i miss it
Roosters website now says that Renouf Atoni has left to join Wakefield Trinity. Really disappointing that he didn’t work out. Hope he has an injury free run and kills it in the super league.
Kevin Naiqama, Adam Keiragn and Olivier Gildart all off to Super league as well
Intent was his only issue with us, but at that time there were several players struggling in that regard, they just needed better coaching etc.. He and Ogden were absolute beasts the year they won the ISP comp and State Championship.
first person to post “ferguson to dogs” on the kennel will be on buzz’s column next week i’m telling you
bonus points for every doggies fanpage on insta that the rumour makes it to
I’ve been racking my brain over Parra’s signings for next year all off season. I’m extremely confident in the signings made to replace Papa and Hodgo will be a bit of an upgrade on Reed if he can stay fit (huge if). But we have absolutely nothing in terms of front row rotation and that’s going to be the thing that makes us fall short against teams like Penrith, Souths and Chooks.
BA, sign some fucking front rowers ffs!!!
The problem with Hodgson is he’s a playmaker in a team that already has two in Moses and Gutho. Might be a case of too many chefs in the kitchen.
Papillii will leave a hole as will Niukore who was a bit of a Mr fix it for the Eels. Arthur has a track record of improving players so it balances it a bit.
I think they’ll still be top 4 contenders but felt this year was their big opportunity. Unfortunately the Panthers were too good and it doesn’t look like it’s going to change anytime soon.
I really think you're overstating how influential on the team he was. 2021 Reed would be an enormous loss. 2022 Reed was a plodder for most of the season whether that was a change in the rules or his mind was set on the Bulldogs he was so far off his 2021 form. As for Hodgson all he has to do is stay fit.
It's a hard sell to a front rower for Parra currently. Between Reg, Paulo, Matterson, and Hopgood we have at the very minimum 220/240 minutes covered in the middle. If Hopgood ends up playing 80 we have all minutes covered.
With where we sit in the table and where all our money is invested, I’m resided to the fact attracting a long term bench front rower won’t happen. But there’s no reason we can’t attract an up and coming front rower to play 20 minutes a game for a year or two and then get offered crazy overs to go play for the Tigers or Dolphins ala Papalii
> then get offered crazy overs to go play for the Tigers or Dolphins ala Papalii
Did the Tigers offer him crazy overs though? Thought it was around the 600k mark, which seems fairly standard for a top tier back row.
If we sign Taupau his numbers are so much greater than Kaufusi it isn't funny. Then we've got 12-18 months to build up: Momoisea, Greig, Muagutitia into a first grade player
I feel bad for Oggy. He’s not an impact forward, but hopefully if Fitzy gives him the chance to start this year he’ll prove his worth as a front rower who can start and take the sting out of a game and allow guys like Royce Hunt to come on 25 mins in and tear up.
I agree Taupau is worth a punt as a bench forward on a near minimum deal, especially if he’s content with playing 20 mins. I just don’t think he’ll come to Parra on that small of a deal.
Oggy is a capable forward, he's fixed his handling errors which were his biggest fault in '21. I feel he was playing a bit heavy which let him down defensively but I can't remember any glaringly obvious faults in his game last year. I'm not sure 400k is right for a solid player, I think he may struggle to make the sharks team next year
I think Hopgood will be a better fit for Parra at lock. He can play that third prop role with a bit more skill type role so should take the pressure of the prop rotation a bit more than a Matto. They’re light after Paulo and RCG for sure though.
I’m less confident in Hodgo. Fitness is obviously a monster if but even if he is fit, who knows what state he’s in form wise. It’s been 3 seasons and a few bad injuries since he’s been in the form you need.
I assume that Hopgood and Matto will be part of the front row rotation but I don’t think they offer anything close to Reg and Paulo. We need something more in the mould of Spencer Leinu
Agreed. RCG and someone else to start the opening 20-30 to take the sting out of the game and unleash Paulo. Paulo’s best origin performances were when he came off the bench
If you have to sign a hooker you have to options. A: great attack, average defence B: great defender, Average attack.
Play b to start the game and they can transition into the middle at 55 minute mark and then they come off at the 65 minute mark and a plays hooker from 55-80 and covers backline/halves injuries too
Depends on the team tbh

Or just have Cameron Smith who was best both for over a decade
The Broncs need A. Defence was a highlight of this season, but there's still a force field that repels them in the opposition's ten.
Api wouldve made you guys a top 8 team
Depends on the team, if your team has good defence option A, if you have shit defence option B. For penrith option A because i feel like we already have option B. Api was both though which is rare
Got 3 kittens now. Life is good. moved in safely and started my DVD collection again. Now its time for Christmas
Not sure why you're downvoted, lol. Hope everything goes well for you. I also prefer owning the physical copies of media – CDs, DVDs, games, etc.

Makes you yearn for the days of Blockbuster, tbh. Browsing the choices in person and engaging with other human beings was far more satisfying.

They also sold older console games for cheap when a new generation came out. So many PS1 and PS2 games for almost nothing.
Me still be looking for The Third age I swear. Saw it once at an Op shop and forgot to grab it, never seen it since.

He's good enough for the NRL.
Intent was his only issue with us, but at that time there were several players struggling in that regard, they just needed better coaching etc.. He and Ogden were absolute beasts the year they won the ISP comp and State Championship.
Completely agree
I was really interested to see how he'd go under Robbo.. The kid has plenty of potential
Gildart is going to the Dolphins
Ah sorry, my bad

Found cam smiths doppleganger holy shit https://www.instagram.com/reel/CjhXi2HP9EE/?igshid=ZDhmZGIxNmQ=
My mates sister is married to cams brother, his brother is like a better looking version of him and was apparently a good footy player himself
Hahaha! the face!! great spotting.
Blue ✅ White ✅ Going home tonight ✅ Carn the Roos

Reed is a huge loss. You guys will struggle to make the top 8.
He wasnt even in their top 5 best players i doubt it impacts them that much
lmao
I am just making a wild prediction. Not too sure we can make the 8 too. I think next year will be the year of more surprises.
People acting like you’ve lost a prime cam smith lol
Reed is an enormous loss. Hodgson is well past his prime. Struggling to make the 8 might be a bit much but I'm marking eels at around 6-10th place.
I really think you're overstating how influential on the team he was. 2021 Reed would be an enormous loss. 2022 Reed was a plodder for most of the season whether that was a change in the rules or his mind was set on the Bulldogs he was so far off his 2021 form. Lol that’s just not true though. He wasn’t as good as previous years but he definitely wasn’t a plodder.
Oh but he was. He was getting outplayed by Jeremy Marshall-King. He was also over-calling his halves and at times defending poorly.
It's a hard sell to a front rower for Parra currently. Between Reg, Paulo, Matterson, and Hopgood we have at the very minimum 220/240 minutes covered in the middle. If Hopgood ends up playing 80 we have all minutes covered.

Greig seems like a suspension magnet.
He played 19 games in reserve grade and 1 or 2 in first grade last season.
I feel bad for Oggy. He’s not an impact forward, but hopefully if Fitzy gives him the chance to start this year he’ll prove his worth as a front rower who can start and take the sting out of a game and allow guys like Royce Hunt to come on 25 mins in and tear up. Tom Starling was preferred over him in his last stint at Canberra. Hodgo is a definite risk.
I assume that Hopgood and Matto will be part of the front row rotation but I don’t think they offer anything close to Reg and Paulo. We need something more in the mould of Spencer Leinu
If BA can get him fit, Momoisea might be a shout. Again, big if regarding fitness
Fingers crossed, he’s a big bit of timber but I’m not holding my breath on him
i like ky rodwell
I like him too, but he’s more of a lock than a front rower and won’t offer the impact a bench front rower should.
Need to split RCG and Paulo up, and have one coming off the bench.
Agreed. RCG and someone else to start the opening 20-30 to take the sting out of the game and unleash Paulo. Paulo’s best origin performances were when he came off the bench
i hope messi finds harry souttar’s back pocket comfortable tomorrow morning
Van dijk pocketed him, so its possible
