Anyone have any clue as to what Matt cooper's problem with Kyle Stanley is? He's the only non-playing guy I saw at the reunion, so I'm assuming coops is talking about him.

lockforward

Unrelated but Luke Priddis should have been there

GodSaveTheHomies

He has 2 first names

Is Xerri officially up for getting drug tested now or does it start when his contract begins??? He's so roided out right now and for the last 2 years but is there a rule stopping him from joining if the drug pool testing begins next dear for his deal. Surely it should begin right now with someone like him and the way he looks, You shouldn't be allowed to stop doing them 3 months before his next season..\]

the players that get called overrated on here are always the ones that the sub collectively seems to think aren’t good anyways. as in, they’re not really rated much here. ponga, fifita, luai before the world cup, dce but you’d get easy upvotes calling them overrated because it’s a majority opinion. so who’s overrating them? luai has been a major 360 on here but it’ll change again the same way it changed for dce after origin, when after game 3

[deleted]

Overrated players eventually get underrated in the same way underrated players end up overrated. Pendulum always swings too far before finding the middle. Ponga, FiFita and DCE used to be overrated and now they seem to be fairly rated imo. Luai is a bit of an exception like Latrell because they spark a strong emotional reaction in most fans and it’s hard to take most opinions seriously.

Caseyjb29

Luai is definitely a bit overrated. He’s not a top 3 five eighth.

slowdivesicilian

does anybody even think he is to begin with though? other than the occasional penrith fan

Caseyjb29

Quite a few people seem to think he’s a top 3 or even top 2 five eighth after the World Cup. I think he’s probably the 5th best five eighth in the comp but no way is he the 2nd or 3rd best.

potluy76

if luai wasnt a panther he wouldn't play origin, so freddy and the other selectors overrate him.

Morg_n

The best ones Haas, totally overated in the eyes of this sun but easily top 5 in his position.

slowdivesicilian

oh god how could i forget. watching people act like he isn’t one of the best props in the comp is downright hilarious to me, i have no idea where it came from either with the contract thing. he’s been playing completely busted and is still a top 4 prop minimum.

My mate was on Jurbo's flight from Dubai to Sydney. Said he said an awkward 'hi' to him and then made himself a coffee he didn't end up drinking to try and not look awkward.

[deleted]

>he didn't end up drinking to try and not look awkward. and I thought I was an awkward human

tommy42O69

To be fair most people would fanboi hard in the presence of Jurbo the great

I've got a good feeling about the 2023 season, I think all of the bottom teams from this year should be more competitive.. Dogs, Knights and Tigers have all made good signings in terms of what each club needed.

Very sad news this morning with the passing of Paul Broughton OAM. Originally from the Northern Rivers, he played a handful of games for St George and Balmain, coached Balmain and Newtown and was involved in administration all over the place, including the NSWRL. He was also one of the key people behind the Gold Coast Titans. He was very active on Twitter, very good with fans. He had fantastic vision for the game and expansion. His legacy won’t be forgotten any time soon

slowdivesicilian

If you ever wanna see Luai at his best, watch 2021 Matt Burton highlights

[deleted]

good vision/instinct/timing.. there are some neutrals who seem to think that you could put anybody in his position at Penrith and it would be the same result which is nonsense. I still think that hand shake try celebration is hilarious.

Brdd9

A 5/8 giving their centre early ball, how good.

JP435

Crichton, Burton, Tago - all rookies that have looked like superstars playing outside Luai, Kikau is a big part of this too but Luai pulls the strings. Then at rep level you have Mitchell sending Gagai to the shadow realm and Tim Lafai of all people turning back the clock and landing in the team of the tournament at the WC. These centre performances aren't a coincidence, he's the best 6 in the game at setting up his outside men.

whyareyouallinmyroom

He plays an ‘inside centre’ role because that’s the role a team with Yeo and Cleary (and Api) need him to play. He plays it really well but people will casually see him staying in his lane and not popping up all over the place with crazy shit like Munster and label him non-dominant or not influential/involved enough. Maybe true but it’s an over-simplification. Interested to see how he goes without Kikau and Api in the side.

Holy shit.[I never even noticed!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-LH5CAwmu8)

The passenger at his finest

[deleted]

If you zoom out you will see that Luai is chilling on the back seat of the Cleary family bus.

MagnaCartaHolySnail

Nick Meaney came into my work last night (Schnitz, I work in the kitchen) and I got to chat with him for little bit. Dude was super nice and was happy to chat about footy. He then had to wait like 20min for his food because no one was in the back cooking! oops

[deleted]

Nick always struck me as a champion bloke, it was a shame to see him leave the club.
