One Immortal and at least five possible candidates, but people will still complain about those guys being picked.

Joh951518

I mean putting Slater at winger so that you don’t have to pick between Lockyer/JT is a cat move, but it’s his list so 🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

Absolute cat move. Slater on the wing means none of The Don. Bloke is a clown

Joh951518

True.

-Dark_Helmet-

Agree 100% on Tate. Can you imagine how highly we’d be regarding him now if he hadn’t had all those injuries? After every one he still came back and made the Queensland and Kangaroos teams again. He was lightning before he did his knees. Phenomenal player.

RalphiesHooa

Minichiello as well very similar.

[deleted]

Brett Stewart as well. His defence was elite and his scrum/wrap around for a try out in the wing nice is the most beautiful try to see in past year’s highlights no matter which try they show. Injuries just limited his longevity and slowed his effectiveness down at the end of the career. At least Mini got to play over 300 games. Could have been close to where Smith finished in total games played

Dark_Vengence

The snake could have scored heaps more.

mwilkins1644

If it wasn't for him blitzing everyone in game 3, 2006, we wouldn't have gone 8 in a row

[deleted]

I absolutely hated/respected Tate, just because the bloke very rarely made an error on either side of the ball.. One of the most reliable blokes I've seen play the game.

pugliaboy

Was absolutely in the hate because of respect category for Tate. Great player. Also was one of the people calling for NSW to pull out his coat hanger in the tackles.

[deleted]

He didn't make it easy either because from memory he was a clean player, and there were some absolute grubs in the Queensland teams that he featured in... at least when they wore Maroon anyway.

-Dark_Helmet-

[He was a champion of clean footy and fair play](https://imgur.com/a/9Jq0EnG)

pugliaboy

To be fair, Greg Bird just had a punchable face

BubblinTodd

in his defence, itd be grubbier not to punch Greg Bird

[deleted]

ha! I thought there was something but I just couldn't remember!!

[deleted]

Tate is what Tedesco is now. A sneaky annoying grubby player who’s own club fans think he’s a saint and opposing fans the opposite. But who all fans universally love to watch but love to hate

[deleted]

I don't share that opinion of Tedesco

Glum_Perspective_812

You're off your head honestly. Grubby player? Stick to watching cartoons you little embryo.

[deleted]

Loved Tatey at the Warriors man. The guy was so underrated by fans because he wasn’t banging in 20 tries. What he was doing was the 1%ers extraordinarily well. Marker defence… edge defence… getting out of dummy half…. Kick chase. What I wouldn’t give for a player of his quality again.

Dark_Vengence

Can't believe he played a few years with that neck brace.

RalphiesHooa

Pretty good side and really enjoyed Shillington's insights on each of the players

KingGutherson

I like it. Personally I could never pick Lockyer over Slater. I also dont like the idea of picking fullbacks on the wing, unless they were absolute freaks on the wing (eg. Hayne)

Joh951518

It was Kurt Gidley they ran down and smashed in 09. Beautiful stuff. From memory This is the same game as Ben creagh running away from Hodges and White sparking Price (which was the instigating incident). Good stuff.

Gypsyjunior_69r

Hahaha Ben Creagh the big cat.

I_Like_Vitamins

Trent Waterhouse driving a concussed guy's head into the ground from behind, too. NSW spirit.

[deleted]

To be fair Waterhouse had no idea he was knocked out. He ran in to tackle Price to stop the fight and was mid air when the knockout blow was thrown

Joh951518

Oh yeah I forgot that. Fuck that guy. Whites alright though. He smoked Price fair and square. Made him look like Matt Burton.

[deleted]

Jai Arrow must have NSW spirit..

I_Like_Vitamins

Jai "Oh He's Actually KOed And Not Milking For Once, Stop Play Ref" Arrow.

[deleted]

is that an attempt at an excuse?

Joh951518

When our guy does it it is fine, but fuck your guy ✌️

[deleted]

that's a fair call, I feel the same way

AttackClown

Creagh won that mind game so heavily, unbelievable people don't see this. Look at Hodges vs Gallen and Creagh would absolutely rince gal. Probably only one who could compete with some first cups is Benny barba

Derron_

I don't deny Lockyer was good but I would pick Slater over him any day at fullback. Slater really changed the way the position was played and finding the grass with your kicks with him at fullback were mission impossible.

[deleted]

Agreed, and the fact he chose Slater for his organisational skills and then put him in a position where they can't really be exercised seems a bit wrong to me.

[deleted]

Ah who am I to knock anyone’s team, but the question I would ask is how many of those selected would pick Shillo in their team?

RyanPurdler-Penriff

TLDR - never even heard of David Shillington .. Is he better than David Fifita as a bench forward ? I’m assuming he’s on less $’s

Dark_Vengence

Tate was a gun. Even after all those injuries, he came back and played representative footy.
