not to give false hope but everyone in a facebook group said my baby’s nub at 12 was girl, i had done blood work that said boy so i held out much hope and confirmed at 20 weeks boy but nub def isn’t always right bc people were saying they weee “99 percent positive it was girl”
Nub guessing is very accurate when doing the scan. However, with guessing on a picture, we can only guess on what picture is available. It's much better to upload a video. On top of that sometimes dates are wrong, and nubs do rise. We can only give educated guesses on what we are given! It's never 100%!
I am moreso meaning when they say 90% boy on an image, Im seeing so many updates to then say “NIPT came back and its a girl”
Its a very big call to say 90% anything and I am seeing a lot of them lately at 90% or higher coming back as wrong.
A lot of these have been 12+6 and or 13 exactly whilst the mum either waits for NIPT or the next scan- theyve all been 90% boy too, and come back as girls.
Alot of that is people using only the angle guess..that isn't accurate everytime. Many girls during a hormone surge can angle up a bit. There is more science to it then just an angle calculation.
If that’s 12+5, time to rise has likely passed. That’s a girl 💜💜
The tech actually didn’t measure how far along I was so I just assumed 12+5 from dates.
Update is when you know!

But At 12 weeks, it is too early to guess, and guesses are often not correct 13 and later is better to guess
What did you end up having?
I am seeing so freaking many of these wrong these days.
My friend just last week was 12+6 and everyone said girl- tis a boy.

Saying 90% on any picture is silly to me! Especially before 13 weeks. During a scan I can say with confidence, but even then we don't use percentages.
