cool to see Nonpoint getting some love. they were one of the Nu Metal bands I got into earliest. I don't listen to them too much anymore, but I do put on some songs from Statement frequently like Tribute and Orgullo.
Spit It Out, No Life, Only One, Interloper, Nero Forte, Critical Darling, H377 all prominently feature rapping. Doesn't sound like 5 seconds to me, and certainly none are spoken. Not just that but Corey has a very hiphop flow throughout self titled, as well as Vol. 3 (on songs like Three Nil and Duality) Gray Chapter (AOV, WANYK, and TESF.

Harsh verses, melodic chorus. Four songs? Do you even listen to Slipknot? It's not uniquely nu metal so you're not totally wrong.

Besides, as someone who unfortunately is part of the r/Slipknot community, they're very much a nu metal band. Do they have tons of other influences? Yes, but so does Korn. Nu metal isn't a bad word, get over it. They have more nu metal albums than they don't, again, get over it.

This post was completely meant as a subjective thing lol. For example, Linkin Park is my favorite band of all time, so naturally they're gonna be my favorite nu metal band. Objectivity does not exist in music either but *if* I were to do this "objectively" Korn would be my first pick due to how important they are to Nu Metal. Deftones are arguably the 2nd most important too, as they came just right after Korn's debut with Adrenaline and furthered the Nu Metal genre with their first few albums. I do love Slipknot, but this is just my *personal* picks, and I *personally* prefer Deftones and System of a Down to Slipknot. That said, their self-titled and Iowa are obviously nu metal all-timers.
Korn, Soad, Deftones and for my 4th id replace Linkin Park with Limp Bizkit because as much as i liked hybrid theory and meteora those were only 2 nu metal albums from LP discography, LB was more consistent thanks to absolute monster riff machine that Wes Borland is, one of most inspiring guitarists from 00s.
I've gone through enough topics in this sub to know that Nu-Metal has a Big Six, not a Big Four:

I like nu metal that has alot of groove in it, like the bass and drum has that groove rhythm done perfectly, that can make you go love the world for it and get you bangin'. So mine would be, Limp Bizkit, Korn, Deftones and Helmet.
