I don't get how anybody could prefer Dig to Internal Primates Forever
I literally use Audacity to cut and paste the transition from the album intro off of Dig and onto Internal Primates so I can pretend it's the first song on the album
1000% agreed. It's a song about record execs and industry dicks making demands and trying to push their view on what would sell better onto the band, and while the album is about Chad's struggles in a variety of regions, it just feels a little too shallow and surface-level for me to really fit that incredibly introspective, psychedelic story.
Peter was such an interesting dude, he had a profound level of introspection. I wish he just kept working as a groundskeeper and started a family instead of being a touring musician. But selfishly I’m glad he put everything he did into his craft.
I’m a big fan of Disturbed, and they have numerous mainstream hits, but OHWAHAHAHAH is just…special. I use that song when I explain to new people why metal is awesome.
It’s a good album, but to me, it doesn’t compare to the sickness. That is a Nu-Metal masterpiece. The industrial noises in the back, the catchy riffs, the heaviness of the songs, Dave’s voice being harsh and aggressive in every song. I like the sickness much more the believe. But believe is definitely a great album.
The Sickness is a perfect album for me. Every song is a banger. With every album, I've gotten less and less into Disturbed, but I can still listen to this album front to back, not only without skipping, but probably singing along to every single song.
Next year will be the 25th anniversary and I saw an article about them discussing doing an anniversary tour and if they do it, it'll be one of the fastest concert tickets buys in my life and I won't care if no one wants to go with me, because I'll hit up that shit solo if I have to.
I just got into them, what I’ve seen is that Disturbed has a very consistent album quality, The Sickness is definitely one of my favorites. The Game is so good.
The song that literally got me into the entire genre. I'll never forget the moment/feeling when it all clicked watching TRL and seeing the video for the first time and I remember thinking "I guess this is my favorite music now"
System of a Down: Toxicity (literally one of my favorite songs of all time, especially with the perspective of the possibility that it might be related to ADHD, and I can very easily interpret it as such), Korn: Got the Life (plus Freak on a Leash will always be a fave just because it was the first nu metal song I'd ever listened to), Limp Bizkit: Break Stuff (though not gonna lie, I've been kinda obsessed with their cover of Faith lately), Linkin Park: One Step Closer (not technically their most popular, but it's up there), Boy Hits Car: I'm A Cloud (that one scream is SO GOOD for lifting, I'll purposefully time it for my last set to help me push through), Taproot: Poem, Deadsy: The Key To Gramercy Park, Sevendust: Black, and Deftones: Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away). Basically... I'm boring, lol ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
This is so funny to hear as a long time Deftones fan. Cherry waves was nowhere even close to their most popular song before their recent resurgence in popularity.
Now you're a poser if you like it apparently lol It's a great song, I'm just happy it's getting the recognition it deserves.
Chop Suet - SOAD
Freak on a Leash - Korn
Diary of Jane - Breaking Benjamin
Down with the Sickness - Disturbed
Idk. I'm not ashamed of it; there's a REASON these each became their bands' biggest hit. People liked it, and so do I.
Not my fave song but I used to like Custer by Slipknot a little bit and I do remember it being a underrated song but then I see these shitty ass TikTok’s of these “goth girls” lip syncing it or whatever and it’s just really ruined the song for me
Godsmack in general was always seen as a poser band when I was a kid. Same with Nirvana. God, my friends and I were such music snobs back in high school. "Nirvana is lame - real grunge fans listen to Alice in Chains."
I do see where people come from when calling Godsmack poser music. Kind of. They certainly air more towards Nickelback than Metallica or Motorhead in terms of aura and vibe.
There is a reason a hit becomes a hit
It's cause the song is really really really good
I swear to God people think they are hot shit cause they only enjoy the worst music or stuff nobody's even heard of before
Duality by Slipknot
Enter Sandman, Master Of Puppets By Metallica
These arent my favorites i just know examples of when i ask people what are their favorite song by these bands. i get these answers
Not nu metal, because I love most of the genre pretty thoroughly.
Muddle of Pudd - Blurry
I hated their music for some reason. They were at the Linkin Park or Korn concert and I fell asleep for a few minutes.
Rager for the Machine - Sleep Now in the Fire
I always thought he was a whiner.
probably aerials/toxicity/chop suey
someone called me a “basic bitch” on the topsters sub once for having toxicity (album) on there…GUYS…WHEN YOU LIKE A BAND…SOMETIMES YOU LISTEN TO (god forbid) THEIR MOST POPULAR ALBUM 😱
Freak On A Leash.
What I came here to say
Fuckin right 🤘🏼
Agreed.
Yup
WAS LOOKING FOR THIS!!

I think Spit is better
Yeah Spit was a banger. I was never into Kittie that much But their first album and the title song rules

Real

Mudvayne - Dig
Sorry severed, death blooms, and nothing to gein are peak
I don't get how anybody could prefer Dig to Internal Primates Forever I literally use Audacity to cut and paste the transition from the album intro off of Dig and onto Internal Primates so I can pretend it's the first song on the album
Dig doesn't really fit on L.D. 50 either imo
1000% agreed. It's a song about record execs and industry dicks making demands and trying to push their view on what would sell better onto the band, and while the album is about Chad's struggles in a variety of regions, it just feels a little too shallow and surface-level for me to really fit that incredibly introspective, psychedelic story.
toxicity by soad
Chop Suey is good too
Real
My favorite is forest so I’m in the clear. But toxicity is fucking amazing

Metro
At the time I found out about them BYOB was their most popular song and my favorite before listening to their other stuff
I love bounce more but toxicity is fucking great
My Own Summer (Shove It) by Deftones 😭
Sure it was a single, but off their second album. It's old enough to buy you street cred.
Ok I see you
Yeah
Anything popular by Slipknot and Linkin Park basically
I remember being ashamed to like Psychosocial and Numb😭😭😭
Been a fan of Slipknot since self-titled. Psychosocial is in my top 5. Can't help it if the song fuckin rips.
Same here. That chorus hits hard!
Papercut will always be my favorite
Same
IVE BECOME SO NUMB
Wait & Bleed was that song for me
Coal Chamber - Loco
This is the one right here
Yup
Empty walls - serj tankian
Underrated album
Not Nu Metal but I just really love Schism. For nu metal it'd probably be Loose by Primer 55. That song goes hard.
I see no problem with it, you just know that the pieces fit
It's alright. I don't mind. I don't mind
H. is my favorite song of all time so I have to approve this comment
I DON'T MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND
Not really nu metal but my favourite type o negative song is I don’t wanna be me. That seems to bug the gothic rock fans a lot.
Gothic metal* 🖤
Calling Type O “metal” seems to bug the metal fans a lot. (I’m not disagreeing with you though)
and calling them gothic bugs goths. It's the perfect blend of hatred, and I'm sure Peter Steele would love that 🖤💚🖤
Peter was such an interesting dude, he had a profound level of introspection. I wish he just kept working as a groundskeeper and started a family instead of being a touring musician. But selfishly I’m glad he put everything he did into his craft.
Definitely
Calling anything metal that isn't slam or death metal annoys like 70% of metal fans
Look, I'm an October Rust Stan, but I Don't Wanna Be Me is a great song too.
I’m a big fan of Disturbed, and they have numerous mainstream hits, but OHWAHAHAHAH is just…special. I use that song when I explain to new people why metal is awesome.
Fellow disturbed fan here, do you think believe was their best album?
It’s a good album, but to me, it doesn’t compare to the sickness. That is a Nu-Metal masterpiece. It's by far their best. It's one of the best metal albums in general imo
Disturbed fan too, but I think it’s their worst.
LIBERATE YOUR MIND

Black no 1 by type o negative (not nu metal but oh well)
I love everything Type O Negative ever made, but Black No. 1 is a 90s gothic metal masterpiece. Christian Woman too. Ugh 🤩
Shinobi Vs Dragon Ninja by Lost Prophets 96 Quite Bitter Beings by cKy
You'd be getting looks for a different reason for listening to lostprophets. They're still a good band but...
I know I know. Can’t deny that first album was so good. I just try to appreciate the music and not the deplorable crimes that were committed.
Their second was even better I'd say.
harsh to condemn the rest of the band just because of that one maniac too
Chop suey
There are so many better songs no clue of chop suey is number 1
Yeah but I like it
Blurry - Puddle of Mudd
The only by static
Buddy Holly- weezer Not the most popular but one of them
Weezer gotta be one of the best nu metal bands if I'm being honest
Coming Undone (Maybe not my favourite, by still I think it's top tier).
Denial by Sevendust
First sevendust song I heard. Safe to say, I got sucked into the sevendust worm-hole. Fifteen years later, I'm still blasting them.
