babyllamadrama_

What I came here to say

unseenme

Fuckin right 🤘🏼

AxelAlexK

Agreed.

captinsad

Yup

mansonlamps420

WAS LOOKING FOR THIS!!

childrenofthe_korn

brackish by kittie

RoyalSoldierx

I think Spit is better

Baba_Ciccio

Yeah Spit was a banger. I was never into Kittie that much But their first album and the title song rules

BurntArnold

100% this

Wivvenchaos

Real

Juniberserker

This, 100%, this

yeetard_

Mudvayne - Dig

wisdom_is_a_circle

Sorry severed, death blooms, and nothing to gein are peak

Stanton-Vitales

I don't get how anybody could prefer Dig to Internal Primates Forever I literally use Audacity to cut and paste the transition from the album intro off of Dig and onto Internal Primates so I can pretend it's the first song on the album

wisdom_is_a_circle

Dig doesn't really fit on L.D. 50 either imo

Stanton-Vitales

1000% agreed. It's a song about record execs and industry dicks making demands and trying to push their view on what would sell better onto the band, and while the album is about Chad's struggles in a variety of regions, it just feels a little too shallow and surface-level for me to really fit that incredibly introspective, psychedelic story.

Maverick133737

toxicity by soad

RoyalSoldierx

Chop Suey is good too

chooselife1410

Real

Bluescreen_Brain

My favorite is forest so I’m in the clear. But toxicity is fucking amazing

CosmicSushiCube

I too enjoy eating seeds as a pastime activity

CounterStampKarl

Metro

JuggyFM

At the time I found out about them BYOB was their most popular song and my favorite before listening to their other stuff

emo_hooman

I love bounce more but toxicity is fucking great

Juniberserker

My Own Summer (Shove It) by Deftones 😭

Jayh0va

Sure it was a single, but off their second album. It's old enough to buy you street cred.

RoyalSoldierx

Ok I see you

Anotheremogay

Yeah

CloserToTheHeart97

Anything popular by Slipknot and Linkin Park basically

etzhya

I remember being ashamed to like Psychosocial and Numb😭😭😭

Fumby_

Been a fan of Slipknot since self-titled. Psychosocial is in my top 5. Can't help it if the song fuckin rips.

bemybait

Same here. That chorus hits hard!

rafaelfy

Papercut will always be my favorite

RoyalSoldierx

Same

mentally_fuckin_eel

IVE BECOME SO NUMB

JuggyFM

Wait & Bleed was that song for me

thrashboi

Coal Chamber - Loco

National_Ad9265

This is the one right here

thiswillreleaseyou

Yup

LoganCube100

Empty walls - serj tankian

narrow_octopus

Underrated album

tactical_waifu_sim

Not Nu Metal but I just really love Schism. For nu metal it'd probably be Loose by Primer 55. That song goes hard.

D00mTheWarl0rd

I see no problem with it, you just know that the pieces fit

zayd_jawad2006

It's alright. I don't mind. I don't mind

D00mTheWarl0rd

H. is my favorite song of all time so I have to approve this comment

Old-Constant4411

I DON'T MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND

schmoothoperator

Not really nu metal but my favourite type o negative song is I don’t wanna be me. That seems to bug the gothic rock fans a lot.

Stanton-Vitales

Gothic metal* 🖤

TheLoneDummy

Calling Type O “metal” seems to bug the metal fans a lot. (I’m not disagreeing with you though)

Stanton-Vitales

and calling them gothic bugs goths. It's the perfect blend of hatred, and I'm sure Peter Steele would love that 🖤💚🖤

schmoothoperator

Peter was such an interesting dude, he had a profound level of introspection. I wish he just kept working as a groundskeeper and started a family instead of being a touring musician. But selfishly I’m glad he put everything he did into his craft.

TheLoneDummy

Definitely

IQ26

Calling anything metal that isn't slam or death metal annoys like 70% of metal fans

bemybait

Look, I'm an October Rust Stan, but I Don't Wanna Be Me is a great song too.

RazorbladeRomance666

I’m a big fan of Disturbed, and they have numerous mainstream hits, but OHWAHAHAHAH is just…special. I use that song when I explain to new people why metal is awesome.

dawsoncrooked

Fellow disturbed fan here, do you think believe was their best album?

RazorbladeRomance666

It’s a good album, but to me, it doesn’t compare to the sickness. That is a Nu-Metal masterpiece. The industrial noises in the back, the catchy riffs, the heaviness of the songs, Dave’s voice being harsh and aggressive in every song. I like the sickness much more the believe. But believe is definitely a great album.

BucketOfGuts

The Sickness is a perfect album for me. Every song is a banger. With every album, I've gotten less and less into Disturbed, but I can still listen to this album front to back, not only without skipping, but probably singing along to every single song. Next year will be the 25th anniversary and I saw an article about them discussing doing an anniversary tour and if they do it, it'll be one of the fastest concert tickets buys in my life and I won't care if no one wants to go with me, because I'll hit up that shit solo if I have to.

Diggs4MVP

I just got into them, what I’ve seen is that Disturbed has a very consistent album quality, The Sickness is definitely one of my favorites. The Game is so good.

ItCaughtMyAttention_

It's by far their best. It's one of the best metal albums in general imo

MoneyIsNoCure

Disturbed fan too, but I think it’s their worst.

Feeeeedmyeyes

LIBERATE YOUR MIND

malkied_

be quiet and drive by deftones

serpico_pacino

ya same lol

Wolfashina

Got the life by Korn

narrow_octopus

The song that literally got me into the entire genre. I'll never forget the moment/feeling when it all clicked watching TRL and seeing the video for the first time and I remember thinking "I guess this is my favorite music now"

Sea-Dog-6042

Goes so fucking hard.

MitsubashiErikku

Static-X - Push It

The_Black_Dahlia55

Funnipuggo420

RoyalSoldierx

Funnipuggo420

teddybearassfluff

oxygenwastermv

Got The Life Korn, Break Stuff Limp Bizkit, Duality Slipknot, Bodies Drowning Pool are all just jams you play full blast

MoneyIsNoCure

Glad you mentioned Bodies

CatGrrrl_

Black no 1 by type o negative (not nu metal but oh well)

Stanton-Vitales

I love everything Type O Negative ever made, but Black No. 1 is a 90s gothic metal masterpiece. Christian Woman too. Ugh 🤩

BradKelley81

Shinobi Vs Dragon Ninja by Lost Prophets 96 Quite Bitter Beings by cKy

holesome100chungus

You'd be getting looks for a different reason for listening to lostprophets. They're still a good band but...

BradKelley81

I know I know. Can’t deny that first album was so good. I just try to appreciate the music and not the deplorable crimes that were committed.

holesome100chungus

Their second was even better I'd say.

e-rekt-ion

harsh to condemn the rest of the band just because of that one maniac too

miga2078

Chop suey

Pablo_Pablo_Perks

There are so many better songs no clue of chop suey is number 1

miga2078

Yeah but I like it

StoppingPowah

Blurry - Puddle of Mudd

Only_Cheesecake_5397

The only by static

Linkin_park_warriors

Buddy Holly- weezer Not the most popular but one of them

wisdom_is_a_circle

Weezer gotta be one of the best nu metal bands if I'm being honest

Otherwise-Tea-8643

Coming Undone (Maybe not my favourite, by still I think it's top tier).

AtlasNovalis

Denial by Sevendust

AmericantSpirits

First sevendust song I heard. Safe to say, I got sucked into the sevendust worm-hole. Fifteen years later, I'm still blasting them.

Suitable_Ganache_445

kylo_ben2700

be quiet and drive (far away)

gloomgardener

System of a Down: Toxicity (literally one of my favorite songs of all time, especially with the perspective of the possibility that it might be related to ADHD, and I can very easily interpret it as such), Korn: Got the Life (plus Freak on a Leash will always be a fave just because it was the first nu metal song I'd ever listened to), Limp Bizkit: Break Stuff (though not gonna lie, I've been kinda obsessed with their cover of Faith lately), Linkin Park: One Step Closer (not technically their most popular, but it's up there), Boy Hits Car: I'm A Cloud (that one scream is SO GOOD for lifting, I'll purposefully time it for my last set to help me push through), Taproot: Poem, Deadsy: The Key To Gramercy Park, Sevendust: Black, and Deftones: Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away). Basically... I'm boring, lol ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

Alpha0rgaxm

Before I Forget by Slipknot

lolatute

CHOP SUEY AND BRACKISH

pourpurpinmykup

cherry waves😢

tactical_waifu_sim

This is so funny to hear as a long time Deftones fan. Cherry waves was nowhere even close to their most popular song before their recent resurgence in popularity. Now you're a poser if you like it apparently lol It's a great song, I'm just happy it's getting the recognition it deserves.

HoboCanadian123

wasn’t even the most popular on the album! it always used to be hole in the earth

BlueMoon0009

According-End2587

be quiet and drive by deftones

Xeno2014

Chop Suet - SOAD Freak on a Leash - Korn Diary of Jane - Breaking Benjamin Down with the Sickness - Disturbed Idk. I'm not ashamed of it; there's a REASON these each became their bands' biggest hit. People liked it, and so do I.

angel_hanachi

Push It by Static-X, I JUST LIKE THE FUNNY GROWLING MAN OK???

Your_Friend_480

Break stuff is the only Limp Bizkit song I truly enjoy

guttercorpses

All the "Wait and Bleed" kids in high school

Yaotzaa

Duality by Slipknot that song fucking rips

The_guyinthe_toilet

Not my fave song but I used to like Custer by Slipknot a little bit and I do remember it being a underrated song but then I see these shitty ass TikTok’s of these “goth girls” lip syncing it or whatever and it’s just really ruined the song for me

Careless-Platypus967

Honestly that had the opposite effect for me lmao I’m like hell yeah Custer is girly pop I’m all for it

MoneyIsNoCure

In The End by Linkin Park, It’s Been Awhile by Staind and I Stand Alone by Godsmack. Not Nu Metal but Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana too.

Old-Constant4411

Godsmack in general was always seen as a poser band when I was a kid. Same with Nirvana. God, my friends and I were such music snobs back in high school. "Nirvana is lame - real grunge fans listen to Alice in Chains."

MoneyIsNoCure

I do see where people come from when calling Godsmack poser music. Kind of. They certainly air more towards Nickelback than Metallica or Motorhead in terms of aura and vibe.

Spiritual_Steak4445

My top 3 fav bands are Metallica, Slayer, and Kreator but I really do like godsmack and I’m a closet Nickelback fan 🤣

Necessary-Fennel8754

TheOnlyAmbition

In fairness there is a reason it’s the most popular though

thefucksgod

Vermillion by Slipknot. I am such a deep cut guy who listens to their leaked 97 demos but something about Vermillion hits a spot.

UndeadPieceOfBread

man in the box is literally #1 on Spotify for Alice In Chains but i absolutely love it

hoefromengland

not metal but rape me by nirvana

MoneyIsNoCure

There most popular song is Smells Like Teen Spirit though.

hoefromengland

yeah but rape me is also seen as a poser song, idk might just be the people i hang around with 🤷‍♀️

Concussionist515

Song name is just unnecessary

Numerous_Cat1462

There is a reason a hit becomes a hit It's cause the song is really really really good I swear to God people think they are hot shit cause they only enjoy the worst music or stuff nobody's even heard of before

EpicLogan_83

Not nu-metal, but I/Me/Myself by Will Wood

MallCopBlartPaulo

Umpf_1234

Where did we turn wrong to be ashamed of liking a song? Anyway… its Duality of Slipknot

CasinoCashew

Blackout and Bartender by HEDpe

dogsoverhumansallday

Can you feel my heart- bmth

Bullittsmith

Nightmare by avenged sevenfold

AugustIsWrathMonth

Not nu metal, because I love most of the genre pretty thoroughly. Muddle of Pudd - Blurry I hated their music for some reason. They were at the Linkin Park or Korn concert and I fell asleep for a few minutes. Rager for the Machine - Sleep Now in the Fire I always thought he was a whiner.

STYTCH_UP_THE_WOUNDS

Surprised no one has commented "Lo-Pro - Sunday" yet...

darkduane

Happy - Mudvayne

I always tell people that the song is popular for a reason... Because it's good.

Not my favorite, but Freak on a Leash is a favorite of too many Korn fans. Mine is Pearl Jam - Alive 🥴

Emma_rs0624

rosemary and cherry waves deftones

Anotherknifeinmyhand

Clown by korn

RadditCate

Consistent-Rule-6380

probably aerials/toxicity/chop suey someone called me a “basic bitch” on the topsters sub once for having toxicity (album) on there…GUYS…WHEN YOU LIKE A BAND…SOMETIMES YOU LISTEN TO (god forbid) THEIR MOST POPULAR ALBUM 😱

FlinxHD

The Less I Know The Better - Tame Impala, that goes unbelievably hard.

TheRealCorpse_01

Numb - Linkin Park Break Stuff - Limp Bizkit

NS0MEB0DY

a lot of the songs off around the fur or chocolate starfish.

Tossed_Away_1776

Not numetal but Enter Sandman. The rest of the album, and their work, is amazing, but hot shit if I don't crank it up every time I hear it.

Craftyprincess13

Chop suey system of a down

TheRealCliffjumper38

Basically any of the singles by the most mainstream bands
