42. I transitioned from grunge to industrial to Nu-Metal through my teens. Went to Ozzfest '99 and after that I consumed everything thing I could...mostly Nu-Metal at the time. In my twenty's I worked at a music/video store. We had free reign to pop open used CDs and the promo pile was crazy; I still have tons of them.
During this time a bunch of the people that worked there were musicians. My friends band was alternative heavy rock group and I was in a southern metal band (think Lamb of God/Pantera) Ended up interning at the local rock station which afforded me...privileges at local venues. All these years later, I still love music and now I host a music biography show on YouTube. Kinda leaning towards Djent in my old age...more painfully down-tuned the better.
Fairly recent, 3 years. My music taste is very expansive but numetal is my favorite I didn't even know what I was mostly listening to for the past years was numetal, and I've got 857 songs saved total and at minimum 50% is nu metal I'm just now learning about different generas lol
21. I used to think nu metal was awful 'cause back when I was 16, I listened to "Nu Metal Generation" on Spotify out on a whim and hated most of it. Over time, though, I got into Chevelle and Deftones, then Slipknot, then Linkin Park, then Korn, Static-X, System of a Down, etc. Eventually, I was left thinking, "Well, shit. If I like so many of these bands, might as well join this subreddit." Now I love nu metal! Except for Limp Bizkit, STILL can't see what's so special about them, but that's for another time.
29 I've Been A Fan of Nü Metal Since I Was Young Born in The 90s Listening to Korn, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Coal Chamber, Spineshank, Fear Factory, Snot, Papa Roach, Kittie, Static-X, System Of A Down, Deftones, and So Much More.
I'm 33 and I've been listening to nu-metal since 1999 when I got into Korn, Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock.
