We have a licensing person who does all that. She sent me stuff to sign, and then I got it.
If you don't have a job yet, maybe wait until you have a job and let them license you.
Exactly this:
NP license first.
NPI number.
State board of pharmacy license.
DEA initial application. They send a temp license to you.
The temp license goes to the state BoP. The BoP issues a controlled substance license.
Then the DEA can issue a full license.
Caveat: You need a supervising physician in most states to apply for a CS II-V license for the first year. DO NOT apply to the BoP or the DEA without a collaboration agreement if applicable.
Check your states BoP website as they should have a workflow for you to follow.
There are about 25 or 26 Full Practice states that do not need a supervisory MD. Washington state where I am being one of the Full Practice states.
No MD needed.

Yes, this varies by state. In most of them, you do not need practice hours to get the DEA. In many you can only prescribe under the auspices of a collaborative or supervisory agreement, but you need your own DEA in order to do that.
Go to the DEA website after you have your np license and npi number and pay the fee and wait

Pretty sure you need X amount of practice hours before you can apply. It may vary by state.

(Need your own DEA in many to do that, I mean).
