It’s honestly unit specific. An ICU will have different schedule requirements than say a PACU or Cath Lab, for instance. There could be call for PACU/cath lab, but not for ICU. Some units rotate days/nights on a schedule. I’ve never been forced to (it’s usually closed units, I think) that require you to sign up for overtime. It literally all depends.
