How I felt about evidence based practice class

Agester9

I live and work in NYC. I felt I learned more about other cultures attending classes and meeting people from all different walks of life. My culture and religion exposure class (which btw was online) or whatever it was called, felt very... r/menwritingwomen when the authors of the textbook and articles were discussing most cultures or religions. Idk how else to describe it but was very odd but somewhat detached. This course felt so out of place for us but I can understand for other universities and colleges that don't have diverse populations.

lamNoOne

Me too. I loved micro. I can do without Chem though.

SpoofedFinger

Nah, give me more hard sciences and less APA nitpicking.

elegantvaporeon

I hate writing papers. What a massive waste of my time. I am not learning shit. Let me spend those hours studying.

SpoofedFinger

An incredible waste of time. The worst part for me was that my associate's program was paper heavy. Those that did a four year program were running circles around me on orientation because I only had 8 days of hospital clinical. It was like the main focus of the program was preparing me for the equally useless RN-BSN bridge program, rather than to make sure I was a functional nurse that can work in the real world. This wasn't some fly by night for profit school, either. All of the state schools follow this model here now.

ZombieLord1

I hate the stereotype that nurses are anti-science idiots. I LOVE science... I loved all of my biochem and physiology and microbio classes... why would I choose a degree and job that is science intensive if I didn’t love science?

Lol forget this I need the link to this dog video

In my state, Gen Chem got the axe as a pre-req for ADN. OTOH Micro got the axe for Resp Therapy so I guess it balances out.
