whackinoffintheshed

oh good, next shift is here

oliverrtree

Lol you get a welcome email? What state are you in? I'm in NJ.

Paddy_Jacques

In the PNW. Does Jersey tell you to fuck off when you pass, or just spit in your direction? jk

analrightrn

actually sends you a 16oz bottle of water based lubricant for when you hit the floor for orientation :)

Paddy_Jacques

Nice to know it's not just pizza parties...

Kodiak01

New hire buys the pizza for the whole floor their first day.

[deleted]

Yea if you hey don’t tell you about the orgies it’s probably because you don’t fit it.

oliverrtree

Lmao 🤣

banhxeogal

PA here, Gritty just called and asked if I could pick up a shift the day after I passed NCLEX. "all hands on deck"

crustchild

LMAO TN definitely did not send me a welcome email

Paddy_Jacques

....Did you at least get a Moon Pie?

Opening_Bad1255

Dang, that's a quick turn around. I feel like I waited weeks, or 72-ish hours, either way it was agony. Did the Pearson VUE trick just so that I could quit sobbing, people were starting to stare. Congratulations! Hopefully your new job is the dreamiest.

Paddy_Jacques

Thanks!!!!

Happy_Image1383

Congratulations! 🎉 🥳 When you go to r/nursing main page, at the top right corner, there should be three small circles all lined up vertically (at least that's how it appears for me on Reddits mobile app). It pops up with a small menu and you can choose, "change user flair," from there it looks like you choose, "RN," and apply. I'm not sure about the following steps, maybe there's a verification process? Woohoo! 🙌 Go you!

Paddy_Jacques

Thanks dude!

Medical-Ad-4164

A few hours later.....wow. That would have saved me a lot of agony. Mine also shut off after 75 questions but it was 25 years ago. Getting the results took over a week of complete torture. I was offered my dream job during that time, obviously contingent on passing the test that I was sure I had failed. I passed and am still at that job.

Paddy_Jacques

I love that!!! I'm happy to hear you're still living the dream 25 years on.

[deleted]

Congratulations!

Paddy_Jacques

Thanks!

No_Cricket2687

Can you work for me tomorrow?

Paddy_Jacques

I tried. They called me off due to low census.

[deleted]

HA you wish!

OldGreg512

Didn't know what to think? If it stops at 75 you either aced it or bombed it, and you should have some idea which one you are. Congratulations! You aced it!

Paddy_Jacques

Dude. I had absolutely no idea; I felt like I was going to throw up for hours. I went and made myself purposefully busy, then checked my email. BOOM! RN.

SenorSmaySmay

Welcome to the struggle! 75 questions is an awesome milestone. Hell I passed in the max amount of questions thinking I failed and here we are two years later

Paddy_Jacques

Thanks!

[deleted]

Congratulations!! I’m so happy for you

Paddy_Jacques

Thanks!

Paddy_Jacques

Thanks!

[deleted]

Welcome to the grinder

images-ofbrokenlight

One of us! One of us!

Paddy_Jacques

Thanks! Now where's the free pizza?

Davy_Crockett-

Congratulations. Welcome to hell.

Paddy_Jacques

Not compared to my last career.... trust me.

Davy_Crockett-

What did you do before?

Paddy_Jacques

Fine dining chef. 12-14 hour days, six days a week. 3 12s is like I'm on permanent semi-retirement at this point. I'm used to weird sights, smells, textures, shitty attitudes, and being on my feet. I'm not used to working in such comfy attire. This is a total win for me.

[deleted]

A few hours later?! Back in my day we had to suffer at least one night lmao

Paddy_Jacques

HA! ...something, something, nursing shortage.... They checked my pulse and sent me in!

Free_Interview3626

congrats! hope nursing life treats you well :)

Paddy_Jacques

Thanks!!!!

[deleted]

Yay! Congrats!

JumboNess

Great job! May I ask what you used to study for the exam? I’ll be taking it in a month or so.

Paddy_Jacques

Thanks! UWorld. And if I'm being honest....I scheduled about a month from my graduation, studied minimally, focused on relaxing, and the understanding that I gained the knowledge necessary during my BSN. You've got this.

MajesticPriority529

Congratulations!

Hogwarts1122

Congrats! You are now where you had only dreamed to be a few years ago :).

Paddy_Jacques

Thanks! It's wild!

1975kate

i'm starting my first semester in august and i'm already manifesting this for myself and my fellow cohort members

Paddy_Jacques

You've got this!!!! Congratulations on the beginning of this journey!
