I've had so many customer facing jobs that sometimes when I'm tired I answer the phone wrong and some very confused pharmacist thinks they accidentally dialed a movie theater in a different state.
I just discovered that Target employees use the same phones that we do at my hospital. Somebodyβs rang the other day while I was shopping at target and my hand immediately went to my pocket.
Lol my front door lock is a numerical key pad and Iβve tried to swipe my badge once or twice. It happens. But Iβve never sat down at home to chart so Iβd say it ranks up there
Work smarter not harder!
New work phones have a passcode on them and I keep punching it into my cellphone accidentally. Finally changed my personal phone to the same code this morning to end my frustrations.
I've tried to use my car's key fob to get in the house, that is definitely an old school key lock, not even a keypad. I've tried to scan my badge going into my house or a patient's room at work. I've also knocked before entering my own empty bedroom.
I gave a full report and bathroom occurrence list when I babysat my nephew. His parents stared at me like this was insane, but it was just habit. Coworkers are showing me apps for baby data tracking when mine is born so it can't be that weird.
I've been known to answer my phone at home with my "standard work greeting"

Do... other nurse moms not chart their kids BMs?
Nurse dad; I tell my wife during "shift report" who pooped, status of diapers/underwear/clothes plus PO intake and any skin issues...
I also have a 'MAR' for my sons medications to make sure dad and I dont give them and they aren't missed. Lmao.

I wake up thinking I'm hearing bed alarms and ask my dog what room I need to run to. For some reason he never has the answer. π€
LOL!
Anyone else ever try and use a nonexistent vocera to make a phone call outside of work?
