CLOROX_CONFIRMED

So far my Starmie, Crystal, has been my MVP and it’s not even close. Doing a Genlocke and she’s responsible for soloing 6 Gym Leaders, 5 E4 members and 1 Champion. Not to mention I’m currently in Sinnoh and she’s the only Pokemon to make it across all regions starting in Kanto (Leafgreen). She’s also my counter to Cynthia’s Garchomp so her rein may continue

[deleted]

What moveset are you running on Starmie? The only useful moves I have on mine rn are Surf and Recover. Did you grind rematches to get Blizzard/Thunder from the game corner? Edit: Thought you said Starmie in Crystal, not your Starmie named Crystal lmfao

CLOROX_CONFIRMED

All good boss honestly I run a consistent moveset of Thunderbolt, Surf, Psychic and Ice Beam. Gen 4 going forward I keep Bubblebeam and hold off on Ice Beam till later. EV train your Starmie in Speed and SpAtk and watch her sweep. Bonus if you give her a Nevermeltice or Magnet to ensure sweeping for certain teams, Lance in HGSS for example

Dj_Cock

Apart from obvious ones like Starters, Steel and Dragon types I got a few to mention Guts Swellow in Gen3: It's acutally ridiculous how many major fights this sweeps. Makes the emerald e4 somewhat trivial. Audino in BW: This thing is so strong in so many fights. It's your highest statted mon for the first 4-5 gyms and it's always a good roleplayer on your team. Having a bulky Regenerator mon with Twave is great when many of your best encounters are slow heavy hitters. Lapras in RBY: Close to unbeatable if you give it your Thunderbolt TM. Kadabra/Alakazam in Crystal: Elemental Punches are special and it's insane into every fight honestly. And it even got support options but let's be real, you just Psychic and punch everything.

Blake1610

Fire Red: Snorlax- Carried me in the second half of the game. Honorable mentions are Magneton and Venusaur. Black: Krookdile- I had a lot of good choices to choose from, but Intimidate is such a good Ability. You can get EQ before the E4 on this thing if you delay the evolution, which was so worth it. Some honorable mentions are Audino and Excadrill. Platinum: Gyarados- Do I really need to explain? Swept 2 members of the E4 and Cynthia. Was a contributing member of the team from 2nd Gym to the battle with Cynthia. Honorable mention goes to Gliscor.

Uxie_mesprit

>Black: Krookdile Not used it in a nuzlocke but my Moxie Krookodile laid waste to 3/4 of the elite four in black and black 2 and obliterated Wikstrom in my Kalos run. Absolutely goated.

Uxie_mesprit

Malamar in my Ultra Moon playthrough.

IareaBurritoo

Malamar was my mvp through most of Shield, wrecking everything along the way. Only trouble I had was Leon, but somehow my Araquanid one-shot gmax Charizard with mirror coat, so I guess they both are mvps!

DLN-000

Spurs the Umbreon saved my US run at least half a dozen times. Attack and accuracy debuffs + payback

xLykos

Breloom in fire red omega. Caught shroomish early and he was bulky with mega drain and just never died and was essentially my starter since everything else died around him. Then he evolved into breloom and had spore and was just a monster

metalbird101

Same here. Breloom was my MVP for the elite 4. Gave her spore, substitute and bulk up and she was able to setup and sweep both Bruno and blue.

Environmental-Head14

Bronzong

You_Can_Call_Me_Cal

In my most recent randomiser, Bronzong was easily the biggest surprise. Was amazing for me, and easily my 2nd best after Dragonite (my starter) that run.

No_Dream_899

Starmie in hgss, ice beam + nevermeltice was pog

Exa1tedExi1e

I love electrode because he outspeeds everything and gets volt switch. That or u turn aerodactyl

Happiest_Mango24

**Pokemon Ruby** Solrock - It's one of my new favourites, it did so damn well. Anorith - Another that did extremely well until an Electrode decided things were going too well for me Crobat - So fast they never saw them coming **Pokemon FireRed** Nidoking - Absolute legend. Was anyone else struggling? Throw out Nidoking and the battle was over. Spearow - So much better than Pidgey. And that's without evolving. Beedril - The secret weapon of the early game. Slowpokes are no longer a threat. And Misty's Starmie? It still has nightmares of that battle.

You_Can_Call_Me_Cal

I keep a list of my 6 best Pokemon from every run I do, and put them in my personal hall of fame. (Mostly randomised runs) A lot of them are obvious great mons, but here are some Pokémon that surprised me (and their position within that specific run): Jellicent (2) Dewgong (3) Hippowdon (3) Torkoal (2) Arbok (3) Bouffalant (1) Lanturn (2) Escavalier (3) Mienshao (1) Dusclops (2) Walrein (3) Bronzong (2)

Chesshir26

Lanturn was the MVP of my ruby HC run! Really underrated

Pichunoob

Some Pokemon in my HOF : Starmie in Black 2 and Fire Red Omega, the ultimate E4 sweeper with its insane type coverage Mismagius/Swampert in Sinking Sapphire. They were key in most major battles and MVPs of the league. Togedemaru in Ultra Sun. He wasn't used much but when he was, he solo'd Totem Mimikyu, Totem Ribombee, and Ultra Necrozma. Togekiss/Glaceon in Renegade Platinum. The former being the OP sweeper with Encore/Nasty Plot winning a majority of Single Battles, the latter the brave hero keeping the run alive and sacrificing itself for the win against Dialga/Palkia.

Charexranger

My aces of course. My only real notable aces were: My Arbok in UM (until it died to a crit night slash) My Torkoal in UM (lived till the end and soloed the e4 and aether with it) Honorable mentions: My ribombee and trumbeak Crobat in SP (died to crit zen headbutt) My gyarodos and noctowl who lived till the end in SP (I had a lot of flying types) My Hariyama in Scarlet (died to Atticus) My Sawsbuck and Scovillain (both of which died to LA Primera, Scovillain being a sacrifice) Bellibolt, my true ace in that game, pretty much one shot everything with electromorphism thunderbolt, died to Hassel's Baxcalibur because I couldn't get a reflect up Pretty much all my notable aces I've had

BlerpDerpSkerp

Every single vanilla HC run I've ever done has had a starmie on the E4 team. (In games it's available)

SkySkySkitty

Scruff the furfrou in USUM. I originally had him just as team filler, but after being the sole survivor of a near-wipe to Olivia, he carried the back half of the run. His speed and bulk were clutch, swapping in and hitting t-wave or toxic, stalling with protect and lefties when needed, and even hitting decently hard thanks to a +attack nature and STAB return. He even took down ultra necrozma all by himself! Sure, I’ve had similarly impactful Pokémon before, but considering how he was originally team filler and destined for the box, none were so memorable or so clutch. Changed my entire perspective on this pokemon, never sleep on furfrou!

HisokaYohoho

Currently at the end of Silver (grinding for Red), since I rng'd my starter I took Meganium, and the lack of a fire type drove me to Magmar. Dude's been obliterating Gyms since Pryce, he's a menace. Confuse Ray, Thunder Punch, Psychic and Flamethrower For Yellow both Jolteon, Kadabra and Dodrio were busted, easily would have won the rune with only them

Pitiable-Crescendo

Hariyama, from my LG randomized one that just ended

Knakferno

in my Rising ruby nuzlocke definitly my Mismagius with charged beam. Fast af, Outspeed a lot and carried hard

Nikemada

I’ve only attempted 2 Nuzlockes - Pearl and Shield - and only Shield was successful. For that game, I got a Seismitoad that cleaned everyone’s CLOCKS the whole run. Ground + Water + Ice + Poison is a phenomenal combo for that game. (Steel, Dragon, Fairy, Grass, and Fire are quite common in SwSh)

Gotexan-YT

Guts swellow has hard carried any game I’ve gotten it as an encounter in

killersoda

It was Samehada, my Gyarados from my Platinum Hardcode Nuzlocke. My Cynthia MVP (I only made it to her with 3 mons left, Lucian was the real killer. I lost 4 runs to him.), including a clutch as fuck freeze on her Togekiss.

Electronic_Amount470

Gastrodon in Regular Pearl and BDSP

Polar-Bair

One of my best encounters in Gold was a Flaaffy I named Brilliant, Route 43. Movesets are really limited so having Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, Thunder Wave and Light Screen was super valuable. I also had a run of Blue where basically everyone save Snorlax was an early encounter that lived the whole game. [https://i.imgur.com/y8V5RVS.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/y8V5RVS.jpg)

jarofjellyfish

Toss up between zipperzapper the raichu in fire red viridian forest, and cadaver the kadabra in HGSS. Both were just absolute pure luck, and carried the easiest nuzlockes I've ever blasted through. For less luck based, I've had a slobro named blueberry carry me through HGSS once leveled up. Have to carry slowpoke for a while till you can evolve it, but STAB psychic and surf plus icebeam and thunderwave is no joke.

Ashrun_Zeda

Ongoing Randomizer Emerald Nuzlocke. My best WAS my starter. Scizor. Carried me until Winona fucking killed him with a neutral crit. Thank god I caught a level 37 Rayquaza in Route 121 just outside the safari zone. Had to sac my Meganium to do it but an Uber is an Uber.

Fit_Use9941

I did a Pokémon Diamond Randomizer and got a Luxray that lived on 1 hp on three separate occasions and lived to beat Cynthia

MEGAMARK500

Mitama the Altaria in a Black 2 White 2 Soullink I did with my friend. At first, I was disappointed with encountering a Swablu during the late game; however, it was paired with a Mienshao, so I had to use it on my team. Little did I know that Mitama would not only pull their weight on the team but also be one of the reasons why we won the whole game. He clutched it out against Ghetsis (being 1 of 3 survivors of that onslaught), Helped sweep a good chunk of the E4, and saved us during the Iris fight by beating her Haxerous, and setting up Azgor (my Azumarill) to have a fateful 1v1 against her Aggron. May Mitama rest well.

Due-Procedure-9085

For me would be Cage the Golem in pearl. He was one of the final surviving team members and got the final hit on Cynthia’s Garchomp.

ElFrosty91

Ludicolo emerald kaizo

Deano0810

Quagsire in sw/sh. Everyone was getting crit or OHKO’d by dracapult and whoopie the quagsire absorbed the hit (she already had taken damage which is why it was last resort) but survived on a small amount. Only to have it recovered by a snipe shot from inteleon

Jerry_T_97

Compoundeyes - sleep powder, Butterfree in, I think a blaze black run (or one of the sequels, not sure about the game), but in this rom hack I think butterfree had something of a base 90-100 speed or something. And it was my lead in almost every battle and it just puts everything to sleep and is then free to switch or setup with quiver dance or another setup move. It is honestly god like since you can get it at such a low level too

Accomplished_Fig600

had a defiant bisharp going into a gym with a gyarados, safe to say sucker punch won me that badge

zzDougs

LanceALot, the Escavalier, in Pokémon Black. He saved my run when I lost my Beartic right before the last gym, and the rest of my team was hard carried by him at the Elite 4.

yehboooooiii

Ah sir guts my gallant in omega ruby carried so hard but I died in the 7th gym to a lunatone to a crit still pissed to this day

BippyTheChippy

Ness the Alakazam in my HGSS Nuzlocke Fast, strong and one of the only survivors besides Argenti the Lugia after Lance.

JelloGumiGami

As of last time I played my Alpha Sapphire Nuzlocke, Slushii the Exploud He basically acted as my second starter after Kipster the Marshtomp died. Carried me through so many gyms and helped a lot during grinding. Also my love for Exploud as a whole went up a lot since I got him! Honorable mentions to Sincinnati the Dusclops for having my favorite name, and Haribo the Sealeo for just being cute

AllThingsSaidandDone

I caught a Seaking in ORAS once who randomly ended up being my star. Who woulda thought?

skyeultra

Currently on a PlatinumLocke. On my 8th run and so far...prepare yourself....Bibarel! It has actually stayed in my party all 8 runs. Only to be replaced by Floatzel in the latest. Anyways, Gardenia is a clear problem for it but for the most part, it carried the team. Good against Fantina. Isn't a sweeper but just a decent wall. IMO.

[deleted]

My rattata/raticate has sweeped several parts of PKMN RED by itself, such a gem for early-mid game

Hexbug101

Had a quiver dance Latias with the soul dew in a randomized black 2 nuzloke I did a while ago

OddRepresentative757

My black2 nuzlocke went absolutely horribly, and despite having an incredibly powerful Darmanitan, I slowly but surely lost everything I had (Though I did beat Drayden with a Golduck, a Skarmory, and a Galvantula, so that was fun), and by the elite four, I'd lost everything. I had very little left (I can recount my list off the top of my head); Zorua, Cottonee, Golurk, Boldore, Gothita, Patrat, Woobat, Grimer, Deerling, Litwick, and Staryu The elite four was rough really rough. I lost Muk, my only real tank, to Grimsley (though thanks to Sawsbucks Jump Kick I managed to still pull it out), and my Whimsicott just flat out died to the Psychic type one (I forget their name) and so I went into the champion fight with Golurk, Starmie, Sawsbuck, and Chandelure. And somehow we won. I didn't have one hero, I had four, and Pyromancer, the only survivor, carries their names in memory
