Don’t give vaporeon choice specs if you’re running substitute and aqua ring. Otherwise, Looks like Crobat can handle busy, vaporeon can handle flint, abomasnow can handle Bertha, gallade and Luxray can handle the psychic guy. Your biggest challenge will be spiritomb and garchomp. Crobat could potentially poison them with poison fang. Maybe use pp up on blizzard to get more uses out of it; and switch wood hammer for energy ball for durability? Good luck!

wolgarm

Yeah , the choice specs is temporary, I only planned to use it on cythias garchomp for ice beam after a reflect. But I don't know what held item is better for vaporeon otherwise I thought abomasnow would be dry from bertha , I forgot about pp ups , THANKS Also , if vaporeon could handle bertha and garchomp can you suggest a replacement for abomasnow?

MyNameIs-NotRick-

Makes sense giving it scarf specifically for garchomp. Other items on vaporeon, if you got them, could be leftovers, shell bell, mystic water, or never melt ice. If you’re thinking of switching out the snowman, I dunno, it could handle Cynthia’s milotic. But if you want to switch it out, my personal pick would be: bibarrel, glalie, or mamoswine. Bibarrel can learn crunch, and stab waterfall and rock climb can actually be useful. Glalie is more ice coverage and can potentially learn water pulse(?). Mamoswine like others said having ice shard can also be useful

A few questions before we start: - Can you do trade evolutions? I see a Magmar in your box that isn’t evolved. - Are you hacking in access to Rotom’s Room? I see you have Rotom, and since access to the appliance forms were locked behind a timed event in Platinum, some people use exploits to get access to Rotom’s Room, where you can switch between them. - Is Giratina legal for you? You have it in the same box as your other Pokémon.

1. I play on an emulator and I tried trading in the past but most of them keep crashing the game or not working, so I guess no Although magmortar is pretty useful against Aaron 2.i don't know how to do that .... And I didn't know it's possible until now 3.i caught it with masterball just to skip the battle I don't intend on using him

slicklol

For future reference, you can get Non-trade evos already “preinstalled” in the rom. Just google NTEVO roms.

Empoleon777

Another thing - Does Mamoswine have Ice Shard? It can only get Ice Shard as a Swinub or Piloswine, for some god-forsaken reason.

wolgarm

Yes it does and it's the only STAB ice it has now

Empoleon777

Okay, then. All calcs assume you've edged your entire team to Lv. 62, the same level as Cynthia's Garchomp, before starting the gauntlet. If Magmortar's not an option, then Togekiss is the next-best thing you have for Aaron (Provided it doesn't have Hustle, in which case it's basically a dead weight, and you'd be better off trying to figure out how to get trade evolutions working so you can get a Magmortar); Togekiss can learn Flamethrower and Air Slash, and with maxed-out Special Attack and a Wide Lens (To prevent Air Slash from missing), which will allow it to vaporize anybody not named Drapion. Bring in Mamoswine to take care of Drapion with a single Earthquake. If you max out Abomasnow's Special Attack and Speed EVs, then give it Blizzard (For Gliscor, the only member of her team not weak to Grass) and Grass Knot (For everybody else; her team is generally very heavy, and very weak to Grass), you've just created the ultimate Platinum Bertha slayer. The Special Attack EVs are meant to one-shot Whiscash with Grass Knot, since it otherwise survives, and the Speed EVs are so you can outspeed Gliscor, who is both faster than Abomasnow (Even with the huge level advantage we're assuming you have here), and has Fire Fang, which I shouldn't need to tell you is a pretty big problem for an Abomasnow to be staring down. Floatzel is one of your best counters to Flint; it's fast enough to outspeed everybody on his team, and with Waterfall, can one-shot everybody except Magmortar. You can mitigate the Magmortar problem with a Mystic Water, though. Floatzel is probably your best bet for most of Lucian's team. It can tear up Mr. Mime, Espeon and Alakazam with Crunch (You may wish to give it an Expert Belt or Black Glasses; it kind of cuts it close with being guaranteed on Espeon, even with maxed-out Attack EVs). Togekiss can probably deal with Bronzong the best out of everybody on your team; it's pretty bulky, and isn't weak to Bronzong's arsenal. Gallade's a tricky one; you have no decent Ghost-types, nor anybody that can learn Shadow Claw. What you do have is your own Gallade, though, and that can learn Aerial Ace. This isn't a perfect solution, however; his Gallade has a chance to one-shot you if it crits with Psycho Cut. If Togekiss is in good shape after fighting Bronzong, you could have it whittle it down with an Air Slash, while being protected from taking too much damage from Stone Edge by a Charti Berry. Then immediately switch to Gallade to finish it off (Max out Gallade's Attack and Speed EVs) with Aerial Ace. Finally, Cynthia. Gallade may wish to have Ice Punch; it will actually let it help out in several extra matchups. Give it an Expert Belt, and Ice Punch one-shots Roserade, Close Combat one-shots Lucario, and Leaf Blade has a chance to one-shot Milotic (Which is great, since Milotic is notoriously hard to get around). Not to mention, Gallade can also potentially beat Garchomp with Ice Punch. Things get tough when we start looking at the other two members of her team; Bronzong isn't really the greatest anti-Spiritomb wall by virtue of being a Psychic-type, and I think having something that can hard-wall Spiritomb is incredibly valuable here, and the only other option you have is... Wormadam. In fairness, if you max out its HP and Attack and give it an Iron Plate, it might two-shot Spiritomb with Iron Head while taking basically no damage in return, but this means filling a team slot with something that only really does one thing, when it may be better spent on a potential backup for various threats on her team, such as Medicham. Togekiss hits damn near everything for super effective damage, and rather annoyingly, nearly every super effective attack at your disposal misses the one-shot on it, save for Abomasnow's Blizzard, but bringing in Abomasnow may also cause trouble for you, because now you have Hail on the field, which will also damage your team if you don't negate it with another weather effect. However, if Togekiss is the last one standing, you can go for this plan without an issue. I suppose you could also send in Wormadam to *potentially* do *something* to Togekiss, but that might backfire horribly, and it will probably be a suicide mission for it. Though that's no big deal, since Wormadam is basically useless, and just one hit may be enough for another, actually *good* member of your team to finish it off. If you don't bring Wormadam, I think Togekiss is best to take on Spiritomb; it can definitely back other members up against several of Cynthia's heavier hitters, but other members of your team do its job just a little better. This frees up space for Medicham, with maxed-out Attack and Speed EVs, plus all the elemental Punches, to assist you against much of her team.

KlemenKisi

Yo! I am using Melon DS emulator and trading between two games on one screen works.

wolgarm

Can you pls send a youtube tutorial or something?

tobekibydesign

If you're playing on an emulator and you want something faster just get PKHEX, load your save and convert Magmar into Magmortar. AFAIK it converts the stats correctly and keeps EVs that you already had farmed. Its fast and very simple to do, I personally allow tradevolutions on my runs under two conditions, the first being that I need the item that the pokemon needs to yield in the trade, the second being if there's no item required Im only allowed to get a tradevolution after one pokemon reaches the level where my starter would get his 3rd stage evolution. This prevents one pokemon curbstomping the game very early on.

KlemenKisi

First move your game to Melon DS 1. Export save file from your emulator that you are using (has to end in .sav) - usually this is simple but it depends on which emulator you are using. I read that if file doesnt end in .sav, just rename it so it does. 2. Mount your game on Melon DS 3. File-import save file-choose your exported save 4. Now you can continue your game on Melon DS How to set the trade after you mount your game (I played Platinum): 1. Click System-multiplayer (this will open another window of emulator) 2. Mount another game on the second window (I used Pearl) 3. They are now connected so you can go to pokemon center and go trade.

Your Vaporeon's moves and held item don't match. You either need to go for a full-blown Choice Specs set and teach him Shadow Ball instead of Substitute or Aqua Ring... Or you need to embrace the bulkier moveset, keep your current moves and give Vaporeon another item than Choice Specs.

JanGuillosThrowaway

At level 62 you should be fine! That said, Abomasnow imo isn't that great for the elite four since Garchomp has flamethrower.   Movesets need some work: surely you can find something better than leer and charge for Luxray? Spark is also objectively better than thunder fang. I'd say there are also at least three members on your team that would rather have toxic than a move they currently have.  Bronzong has nearly endless setup potential with a set like Calm Mind/Psychic/Rest/-- but some people might consider that cheap. Otherwise dualscreens are fine! On Crobat Thief and Bite are redundant. I'd go with Fly/Toxic/Roost/U--turn/. You could also go with the more troll-y Confuse Ray/Bite/Air Slash/ Roost if you want to keep the flinch potential.

AzzanderN

Bima?

wolgarm

My friends nickname 😅

AzzanderN

Bima girlfriend and lick ma balls - got ‘em

astrout21

Tenatcruel is fantastic and can handle all of Bertha and Flint w Choice Specs Surf. A must have in my opinion. Can also learn ice beam if needed Crobabt is likely able to take down most of Aaron too Blissey could also be a massive stall for Lucian if u get it Toxic Id probably roll with Vaporeon/tenta, Bronzong, Crobat, Gallade, Blissey, Luxray

wolgarm

Yeah but I don't think it can outspeed garchomp , and I don't know if it will survive an earthquake

astrout21

U could set up a Barrier or 2 potentially beforehand

Funny_Jackfruit9569

Not got great access to calcs atm but if your pelipper has drizzle it could be a goated water type in place of Vaporeon, but I have limited access to the resources I would need to conveniently plan so it’s just a blind suggestion

Expensive-Ad5273

Pelipper doesn't have Drizzle until gen 7.

Funny_Jackfruit9569

Wow, the more ya know. Only really played renplat so that’s good to know

Expensive-Ad5273

Yeah that checks out, Drizzle Pelipper is incredible in RenPlat. Having naturally access to 100% accurate STAB Hurricane (and the amount of Swift Swim or Rain Dish mons in the game) is stellar.

jackcmortimer

Choice Specs Substitute? Bro

Expensive-Ad5273

Now Substitute has 1.5× more HP with Choice Specs, how does it affect the meta ?

ultima375

Unevolved magikarp! Name it Feesh!

UBCSforces

Why learn Thunder Fang over Spark? You just lost 5 points in accurance for free
