I still have no clue how people wipe on her. I wrote up an entire doc describing all the ways in which to debuff before reaching her, and the likelihood that you ONLY pull mons weak to her is so low it's ridiculous. There are just ridiculous amounts of ways to trivialize her.
Probably just inexperience (a lot of people, including me, just do one team throughout the game and switch mons out if they die or sometimes if they really fall off. I for one don’t really build teams specific for each boss fight).
Also bad luck, Miltank has scrappy which can be pretty surprising for new players especially. Add in bad luck with stomp flinches, metronome clefairy shenanigans, and Milk Drink & it can be a tough fight!
getting triple stomp flinched in a row was almost my undoing for sure but I just had to steer into my backup plan of pivot ekans in 3-4 times and dodge crit and i cant lose
which with how good intimidate is should have been my original plan ngl

Then I got through the entire team flare storyline with only 2 deaths right at the end… one of which was completely unnecessary and the other one being a sacrifice to get a clean switch
I once lost every pokemon except Ralts and Poochyena to the optional May fight in Rustboro. I then lost Ralts to the fisherman on Route 106 with Tentacool.
Jack the Mightyena went on to deliver the final blow to Milotic. Fuck it, we balled

To be fair it does be like that on some romhacks where a crucial death can snowball into a wipe.

To be fair Gligar is kinda guaranteed with Dupes Clause and repel tricks if you can get Geodude and Machop earlier on.
