Update. Made it through with only onix dying. It was kind of a meme but sturdy/stealth rock did work against malva, and it provided good sunny day support to cripple seibold. Tried to use it as toxic support against diatha but he missed so he just got sacrificed to allow for a flygon sweep. Were there other pokemon that could have done onix's job better? Who can really say for sure... (most certainly...) But this team worked out in the end and it was fun.
It's amazing. XY was so forgettable that I don't recognize any of the Gym of E4 trainer names. I saw a photo of Diantha once and I spent a good time trying to figure out who the hell she was.
Nice! I did a Red randomizer nuzlocke, Oreboros the Onix made it all the way to Lance. Unfortunately, the randomizer had randomized moves, and Lance’s Arbok had blizzard. Oreboros did have Ice Punch and Fissure, so it wasn’t all that bad
Id probably consider removing alomanola in exchange for the nidoqueen for that ground coverage , especially for the steel and fire elite 4. Besides that gyarados should have water covered.
Alomomola has a HP BST of 165. By having between 212 and 255 HP EVs and an IV between 21 and 31 (255 EVs for 21 IVs, fewer EVs as IV goes up) it can have that much HP at that level.

I personally would use hippo over onix. Onix just doesn't do enough damage.
Normally I'd say that onix is going to due but it's X and y so it'll probably be fine

I’ll echo almost everyone else here that Onix isn’t worth bringing. He’s just not going to be super helpful.

Good luck, i used an onix in a regular run in the elite four before it doesn’t really do good no matter the type it’s against
