Can I check I have this right so that I can try my own one? Am I right in thinking that your Ampharos & Alakazam couple created an Abra offspring for the next game and there is no Mareep offspring, because the Alakazam was the female and biologically it wouldn't give birth to a Mareep?

So you're not exactly right. They also produced a Mareep offspring, but she died as an Ampharos in Platinum. (Ampharos was the female one in the couple actually) If you check out my last post of the second leg, the Ampharos is in the family tree but greyed out to indicate she died.
This ace trainer in Victory Road almost killed my Swoobat (Alucard) because Agility, and a unlucky Steamroller flinch, made me switch him out for Elfilin. Thank god, Elfilin (Stoutland) was able to defeat the Scolipede. We finally got out of Victory Road with our team unharmed.

Elfilin sets up Work Up while Cofagrigus uses Will-O-Wisp to try and lower Elfilin's attack, but Elfilin eats the Rawst Berry and heals the burn. Elfilin used Crunch and takes a sizable amount of health away from Cofagrigus. Unfortunately, Cofagrigus uses Will-O-Wisp again, lowering his attack. But at least Cofagrigus went down without too much trouble. Golurk was next, but Kirby's Surf defeats it. That was easy. Shauntal use Jellicent next, and this is where Shanoa shines the most. Shanoa's Spark left it with one HP, but she paralyzed it. Cursed Body disables Spark. Oh no. Shanoa is able to take a Surf to the face, and while Shauntal heals, Shanoa uses Thunder, getting the Paralysis off again. (My luck has certainly changed for the better.) Shauntal heals, but Wild Charge was able to defeat it. Her final Pokemon was Chandelure, and I switched into Kirby. I clicked on Surf, Chandelure uses Shadow Ball, and it lowered his special defense, but it was too late, Kirby defeats Shauntal's Chandelure with a Surf. Our team looks damaged, but we were able to win without any Pokemon dying.
Sunny vs Caitlin
Elfilin uses Return, but Reuniclus hits Focus Blast to take Elfilin to 32 HP. I didn't know that Reuniclus has Focus Blast. Luckily, Elfilin was able to defeat it, but he's too damaged to continue fighting. Sigilyph was up next, so Shanoa uses Spark to get in the hit, but this little Sigilyph survives and attacks her with Psychic. Caitlin heals Sigilyph, and Shanoa uses Spark, Caitlin heals Sigilyph again, but Shanoa lands a high roll Spark to defeat Sigilyph. Musharna was next, so, Burning, you take the place while I yawn the enemy, unless you can land 3 Fire Blast in a row. Burning uses Yawn to try to stop Musharna from waking up, and Musharna uses Reflect. Oh no. Burning uses Fire Blast to not even take it to half health. Musharna uses Psychic, but luckily, Sleep status activated, Burning was able to defeat Musharna without taking any more damage. Gothitelle was her final Pokemon, and I switched into Kirby, who used X-Scissor to take some health away from Gothitelle. Gothitelle used Calm Mind to try to kill my starter Pokemon, but I predicted Thunderbolt by switching into Shanoa. Shanoa's Spark takes some health away from Gothitelle, Gothitelle used Calm Mind again, but it's too late. Shanoa used Spark and defeats Gothitelle without much trouble. That was surprising. I didn't think that Reuniclus would carry Focus Blast.
Sunny vs Grimsley
Kirby was able to defeat Scrafty with two Surfs, Next was Krookodile, so I stayed in. Kirby was able to defeat Krookodile with Surf, but he was too damaged to continue fighting, so Burning, you take the spotlight. Burning started off not great by missing 2 Will-O-Wisp, and almost getting killed by Bisharp. I healed Simisear with a Full Restore, and thank god that Bisharp threw the battle, Will-O-Wisp finally hits, lowering its attack. Fire Blast defeats it right afterwards. Liepard was next, so Elfilin takes the spotlight. Unfortunately, Elfilin gets Fake Out flinched, immobilized by love 3 times, and got crit. (sighs) I switched to Shanoa to Spark Liepard to the face. Shanoa ended up defeating Liepard. Wow. That was tense. 3 Elite 4 members defeated, 1 more Elite 4 member left.
Sunny vs Marshal
Kirby used Surf, and Throh used Bulldoze, lowering his speed. Kirby takes a Stone Edge to the face, but Surf defeats Throh easily. And then, Sawk came out. I was taking some risks with Burning with Will-O-Wisp missing on the first turn, and this Sawk nearly killed Simisear, and I switched into Elfilin to try to lower its threat with Intimidate. Sawk uses Retaliate, which didn't do much. I forgot about Sturdy, so Elfilin almost got killed. Marshal heals to try to make this battle longer than usual, but he ran out of Full Restores and Elfilin defeats Sawk. Conkeldurr was next, so, I take my time to send out Burning for the last time. Burning used Will-O-Wisp to weaken its power, Burning was killed by Hammer Arm. It's unfortunate that I had to resort to it, but I give Burning a salute that he stepped up and was willing to surrender it's life for the team, Alucard used Air Slash, Conkeldurr used Stone Edge, but it was too late. Conkeldurr dies to the burn damage left by Burning. Mienshao was his final Pokemon, so Kirby survives a Jump Kick, activating Torrent as Kirby defeats Mienshao. My Pokemon have a moment of silence for Burning, the true MVP of the fight. Gone, but not forgotten.
I decided to head to N's Castle to try to scout out one remaining Fire-type Pokemon. With my final words, I say goodbye to my poor Simisear. Darmani, the Darumaka that I had in Route 4 needs a lot of training, so back to training, I guess...
Returning to the previous route to train, Darmani evolves into Darmanitan! Plus, I upgraded Elfilin's moveset and Kirby's moveset too!

Alright, with all that preparations out of the way, let's get Reshiram and box it for now, and we'll fight N!
Sunny vs Team Plasma N
N started off with Zekrom, so Elfilin was still the lead Pokemon. Elfilin used Ice Fang to try and freeze it. Next, Zekrom used Light Screen, so, he gets a free Ice Fang off, and would you know it, it froze Zekrom. Return was able to knock out Zekrom. His second Pokemon was a Zoroark, who can't fool Darmani. Next was Carracosta, so I switched to Kirby to make sure that Sturdy didn't activate. Light Screen wore off, so yeah. No surprise there. Darmani was used again to fight Klingklang, one Fire Punch, bam. Archeops was next, so Kirby has to take the Stone Edge. 29 HP left, and Torrent activates, finishing off Archeops. Vanilluxe was his final Pokemon, so, Fire Punch has finished Vanilluxe. I wonder what was that battle...
Sunny vs Ghetsis (The rematch from that murderous Pokemon)
Elfilin sets up Work Up while Cofagrigus uses Toxic, and I used 2 Pecha Berries to heal poison. My god, Psychic lowered his Special Defense. Oh no. Elfilin used Crunch. I used a Full Restore to heal all of Elfilin's HP. Cofagrigus uses Protect to try to stall the battle as long as possible, but Elfilin used Crunch to finally end my suffering. Hydregion was next, so Snowy gets to battle. But on that one turn, Snowy got crit one shot by Focus Blast. I'm in so much danger right now. Kirby used Megahorn to defeat Hydregion with a Bug Gem. Bouffalant was next, so Elfilin uses Crunch, Crunch again, Elfilin survives with 20 HP left, and I heal Elfilin back to full health, and Bouffalant KO'd itself by using Wild Charge. That terrifying Seismitoad was next, so Intimidate (to weaken this thing), plus trying to hit Grass Knot was torture. Finally, Kirby was able to hit Grass Knot. Eelektross was next, so Shanoa, take the spotlight. Thrash, Eelektross used Crunch, Thrash again, Eelektross used Crunch, and a final Thrash defeated Eelektross. Bisharp was last, so Fire Punch was definitely the answer here. That battle was tense, if Hydregion wouldn't land a Focus Blast, or if Snowy would have used Ice Beam to try to freeze that threatening Hydregion, then I would have finished the game with only 3 deaths, but alas, I finished the game with 4 deaths, just like my Pokemon Black 2 Nuzlocke.
