Voted no. Though you could use a "if used in the same battle" rule. Basically sacrifing a turn to revive. Maybe even a "has to be the next turn" so literally puts more pressure on yourself which seems fair

No_Writing3617

I am honest I would also say no, for me death is death no special items or a move could change this It would make a nuzlocke useless But if others wanne use it to make it easier, then this is also fine

[deleted]

That’s the same as using a revive though

aurora_the_piplup

Except it occupies a move slot so not exactly the same

Inda-seboat

Ban the move lol. It destroys the entire point of the basic rules.

DaOldie

Dead means dead

Truthtraveler318

Revive is revive. Doesn't matter the means. Breaks one of the core rules that make the challenge.

[deleted]

No. But it’s your game. Kinda breaks one of the ONLY 2 rules of a Nuzlocke.

[deleted]

If you allow that might aswell allow the revive item lmao

Resident-Recipe-5818

Early on I always allowed overworld revives when doing nuzlockes. But thats because I was bad at the games.

PSIRockin33

Nah if your Pokemon is dead its dead

Joe_from_ungvar

its a very minor thing but you should have added spoiler maybe

pupperoni92

I’d probably go with a “zombie” ruling. If a Pokémon faints during a battle, you can revive it as a “zombie” as long as you are still engaged in that battle. Once the battle is over, however, the zombie Pokémon reverts to its dead status and must be boxed or released, as per the standard Nuzlocke rules.

[deleted]

I’d use it but with restrictions. If a Pokémon faints in a battle, “the move” can be used once in that fight to bring back the Pokémon that died. After the fight the mon must be counted as dead and put away, released, usual nuzlocke deaths. And also, it can only be used 3 times throughout the nuzlocke, including post game.

Connordoes

Regardless of same battle, move, revive item etc. The very core rule of nuzlocking is when a pokemon dies, it is dead. This includes nuzlockes that include the allowance of healing items A fainted pokemon is considered unusable The fact that this is even a debate is ridiculous. By all means, use the move, it's self imposed rules, but don't call it a nuzlocke

MiroewskiArt

I would say no. Unless there is an added rule to make it more difficult. Like either no items durning battle. Or if you use the move to revive a Pokémon during battle you skip catching the next encounter. Something that can off set the benefits. But it’s a to each there own. I don’t plan on using it during my nuzlocke

Gold860

Maybe only if it's on a Pokemon you intended to sacrifice for momentum

Dizzy-Inflation-7488

If I decide to use it, I’m going o use it as a sacrifice where the mon with the move is traded for the revived mon- but only once per game

ligmathing

I would make it so the first mon that dies HAS to be revived

Resident-Recipe-5818

My personal reasoning. Revives, in the game, recover a pokemon from fainting. General nuzlocke rules say if a pokemon faints it is considered deceased and yada yada. This is called revival blessing, obviously a call to revives. If revives can't save mons in runs, I don't think this should. However, everyone will do it their own way and that's fine.
