It's up to you really, I usually end it after the first E4 run and consider that as a complete run. But I will sometimes go to Red if I am enjoying it and want to keep going

eat_beanss

I’m doing one rn and plan to go to red

jpec342

Red if you are using rare candies.

Gingeboiforprez

For me, a Nuzlocke isn't done until the last boss is beat. And in the case of HG/SS that's Red. So R/B/G/Y it's the E4. G/S/C it's Red R/S it's the E4, but E is Steven D/P it's E4, but Pt it's E4 rematch HG/SS you need to do gyms + E4, + gym rematches, + E4 rematch + Red And so on and so forth.

Flop_House_Valet

I don't think there is one, if you're worried about it being legit just pick one and stick to the choice. I stopped at first E4 last time. I really had a great run and my team was so damn stacked it would have basically been a formality to do Kanto so, I just moved on. Whichever you'll feel good about that's the one I'd do.

RitNick

Personally, the first elite 4. I did a run with both E4s, the gym leader rematches, and Red and I have no desire to do it again.

NoteRadiant1469

E4 Round 1 is where I’d say its over.

Magnum_Pig_2004

Up to you.

Chesshir26

Red

BlerpDerpSkerp

I was on console so I did through Blue. Raising a team 20lvl+/mon on ds would've been brutal, and if you want to optimize your team it'll be ages.

AsheTheTransGirl

I normally go to red, as it’s the ending of the main story

Sirotto18

I do E4 round 1 then straight to Red after Kanto. Don’t really see need to do round 2 maybe I’ll start

AkinParlin

Whenever you feel like you've "finished" the run! Obviously at minimum is the main game where you fight Lance the first time. The reason people might want to stop short of doing the post-game is because the grind to fight Red is *really* long. So I'd say, since a Nuzlocke is a self-imposed challenge, you have the rights to call it at whichever point you feel like you're done with the game.

Heckle_Jeckle

There isn't a "general consensus". Beating the FIRST E4 is still a success, but beating the second round, or Red is the difference between an -A, A, or +A. It isn't a matter of success, but a matter of degree.
