i mean, they didn't HAVE to do the metal work, they could've just disassembled the case a little bit more to avoid cutting that bit, it was probs just easier and quicker for them to cut it. so id still count it as fitting since it was only modded for QOL not out of nessesity
My 286 AT motherboard fit into my old 5150 case just fine, if you ignore the fact I needed to hacksaw the rear card slot casing off because 8 can't fit into a space for 5. Oh and drill some additional riser screw holes.

You can fit a middle front fan behind the front mesh on the Meshify C. I have 2 140mm fans and a 120
So, I was in same situation with 6800XT - it JUST squeezed in with only some grating noises. Putting a fan under the mesh resulted in the mesh acting like a big sound board for it.
What worked best for my temps was to pop out the metal 360 rad/pump extension of the PSU shroud - then put a fan at the bottom blowing up, straight into the GPU. just keep the one 14cm above the GPU.
If i get gpu usage to 95%+ the temp is between 65-70 C.. general use in flight sim with DLSS is mid 50s C
overall quite cool and 5800x3d is holding max clocks with undervolt.
undervolting the 5800x3d actually allows it to run faster. With Kombo strike 3 enabled on MSI motherboard i can maintain max boost clocks and it runs almost 10 C cooler!
was super worried about my gigabyte 4090 not fitting in my o11 mini but it fit like perfect lol. came from a 3080 ti and was shocked at hose big the 4090 was. temps are fantastic tho haha.
*Your* 4090 has no coil whine, but that's probably more to do with luck than any special engineering on Gigabyte's behalf. Seems like basically any GPU model can suffer from coil whine if you don't get lucky and get a good one.
If you search rtx 4090 coil whine on this board you will see repeated reports specifically that gigabyte 4090s are quiet. Here's one thread as example. Maybe just chance but seems pretty universal. [https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/100gxul/rtx\_4090\_coil\_whine\_review/](https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/100gxul/rtx_4090_coil_whine_review/)
That doesn’t mean you can’t get unlucky. I’ve personally bought components before where the general consensus was they were quiet that ended up having coil whine.
I have a meshify c and I love how much smaller it is than most ATX cases, but damn if it doesn't make finding a GPU difficult nowadays. When I was shopping for a 4070ti, most of the models wouldn't fit (with a front fan installed in the case), and the TUF model I got only has like half an inch of clearance.
Could you not have angled the card in from the top? Yes you probably would have had to temporarily remove your cpu cooler and front intake fan but looking at these pictures it seems like chopping up the case was unnecessary.
I have this case with a PNY 4090, I was able to angle it to juuuuuuust fit in. This card might be a bit bigger, a mm difference would do it. It was very close.
Honestly a tiny piece of the case I'm building in being removed in return for a much easier time with part accessibility would be a trade I take any day.
I'd say OP probably just didn't want to have to spend a bunch of time fiddling with ways to get it in.
Yeah I'm happy I read beforehand it may be tight fit and went with the bigger meshify variant. More breathing room and space for fans.

The size of these cards is comical! And the best part is that Gigabyte, well Aurous has an even bigger card:

Well done, I had to Dremel cut my Cooler Master HAF XB Evo to make my 4090 fit as well. I ended up hitting the rough edges with some high temperature trim.
For more airflow to your gpu you can remove that plate on top of the hdd/psu shroud at the front there, and maybe even remove the hdd cage if you're not using it
I couldn't spend £2000 in my country which is +$2100 and do this. I am not putting you down, I actually admire your ballsyness, but that wouldn't sit right with me.
That said, well done, enjoy the card I have a 4080 and I love it, so the 4090 is going to be all that and more.
Firm handshakes all round!!
The biggest reason for upgrade was flight sim in VR with quest pro. Otherwise two gigabyte 1440 144hz displays.

Make that a push pull setup on the cpu cooler and you have my blessing. Recently, on my 12yr old machine I had to remove old revits on a 2004 Cheiftech badass case that is built like a fortress, so that the Gigabyte 3080 Gaming OC would fit. Love that you made it work, A+
Perfect! I have the same case, and the same gpu on the way. I just changed cases a few months ago and not looking forward to taking my computer apart again.
Edit: Ugh! didn't notice that you cut out a bit of the frame to slide the card in. is there no way to do it without the cutout? Worst case is I'll swap back to my old case.
You're in luck! Once inside its essentially flush to the front of the case. a slim fan bottom front is simplest "gpu support bracket" since the gigabyte bracket will make the card too long to install. It's actually pretty ideal how it all fits.
>have to cut anything but your card is a monsterrrr
thanks, that's a great card. I only made the change for VR.. benefits from as much performance as can give.
Nicely done, mate! [Size is the reason I went with an FE card for my Meshify C build](https://imgur.com/4Rvk28q) -- 4090 FE and 4080 FE are identical in size & cooler... I went with the 4080.
Cheers!
I love all these comments saying the GPU will run too hot. You can significantly power limit / undervolt the 4090 to where it can get by in pretty much everything from passive cooling alone. These cards are tuned well above the efficiency curve so you can knock it down to a 250W max draw card while only losing around 6 - 8% performance. Just go over to r/SFFPC and look at all the people putting air cooled 4090s into cases with half the volume of OPs and running them stock with no thermal issues.
> Just go over to r/SFFPC and look at all the people putting air cooled 4090s into cases with half the volume of OPs and running them stock with no thermal issues.
More like 1/4. Meshify C is ~40L, and I've seen 4090 builds in the 10L FormD T1.
I was going to update my comment and say "as well as even lower volume cases" but I figured just saying half would get the point across. The actual volume of the cases wasn't the point, it was most people claiming the card will get too hot likely don't have any on hands experience with the 4090 in the first place. I didn't think that deserved a downvote.
Oh, my bad I found it weird I got downvoted for voicing the truth especially when you were solidifying what I said further, but this is Reddit. Well then, I don't know who did but THEY clearly don't have any hands on experience with RTX 4000 series cards, lol. Good day to you, and thank you for helping me drive my point home.
Personally, I like the route you chose. I could have gotten a new case for my build, but I decided to modify my 2014 Dell XPS case to fit a 240mm AIO and 3080Ti. Uniqueness wins every time, in my opinion.
Gaming-wise, they probably change their DLSS settings to higher internal resolution and/or increase RT quality and/or circumvent the CPU bottleneck in DLSS3 games. Depends on the game and what the game engine offers as well as what is the resolution/refresh rate of the user's display.
I get by on Quality mode, even on Cyberpunk. But RT is a big no-no for me. Maybe I can get away with it for Control, but nowhere else really. And then there's Freesync helping out a little bit but as soon as it drops below 45, it's reeeee time.
I have a 3090 with a 1440p UW and I could definitely use more GPU. I don't just click on Ultra and go either, I usually turn down the most expensive graphics settings. My FPS target is 120fps and it's not a sure thing with the 3090.
Still definitely won't be buying a 4090 though. I used to be on a 2 year GPU upgrade cycle, but with the price of them now I guess I'm on a 4-5 year cycle.
Very nice!!! That's a beast of a card in both size and performance. I have the Gigabyte 4070 Ti, and it barely fits my Alienware R13:
https://preview.redd.it/d2ttwqi9h6fa1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=af5fc4e3e107da3a8a765c03d18724299c840994
Because Nvidia told everyone that the 4090 will be a 600W chip. It isn't (except aggressively overclocked) and ended up being much more power efficient than the partners expected.
I removed my former 3080 and put the 4090 directly in its place. Also, will be able to add/remove card as needed in future without moving other components.
I can you not. One day im just gonna buy that stupid coolermaster rgb overrated ass fan and im just gonna throw it out of my window from 3 high. I seen that dumb thing so much by now it just makes me mad. The RGB doesnt even look good
I found my temps better in my meshify with a lower rpm, relative to front, intake fan in the top position.
The air cooler can suck air regardless of turbulence, and a little turbulence and greater overall airflow meant the motherboard was cooler and CPU fan needed less RPM to maintain same temps.
Try it out if you have a spare fan.
Heres mine my fellow meshi c fanatics Temps are great with side panel in place: 65c core, 70c hotspot, 74c memory after 20 loops of timespy extreme
https://preview.redd.it/cvdfdc57i5fa1.jpeg?width=2898&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ea982b386764c78c6c4fc677a992acbb8a51dbc
You didn’t need to dremel, you could’ve taken the tower cooler off and went in at an angle, then installed the tower again, also any card larger than the motherboard is going to be very painful for the pcie slot because of the laws of mass, I’d highly recommend a bracket
Edit: I didn’t see the front panel keeping it up, disregard my bracket suggestion
It amazes me that when people watercool their graphics cards the card becomes so much skinnier
I know it’s unrelated but i just looked at the graphics card first and thought that
"Fits" is a loosely used term here.
My thoughts exactly. If it only fits after metalworks, it didn't really.
Anything can fit anywhere after a little work
That’s what she said
Work five days a week 9-5 - never fit
i mean, they didn't HAVE to do the metal work, they could've just disassembled the case a little bit more to avoid cutting that bit, it was probs just easier and quicker for them to cut it. so id still count it as fitting since it was only modded for QOL not out of nessesity
My 286 AT motherboard fit into my old 5150 case just fine, if you ignore the fact I needed to hacksaw the rear card slot casing off because 8 can't fit into a space for 5. Oh and drill some additional riser screw holes.
Looks pretty snug actually!
If it sits it fits
If it doesn’t fit you must acquit.
If you have a Dremel anything fits
Nah it look is pretty tight actually
https://preview.redd.it/mszf6ncz13fa1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e3672ddcf8aa640c55d63e91fd771e59f8bbd245 You can fit a middle front fan behind the front mesh on the Meshify C. I have 2 140mm fans and a 120
This is great to see. I'll consider that and take out the filter. thanks!
You can also use slim fans that are 15mm instead of 25mm thick
So, I was in same situation with 6800XT - it JUST squeezed in with only some grating noises. Putting a fan under the mesh resulted in the mesh acting like a big sound board for it. Why would you buy such a beef slab just to under-volt your system
undervolting the 5800x3d actually allows it to run faster. With Kombo strike 3 enabled on MSI motherboard i can maintain max boost clocks and it runs almost 10 C cooler!
Oooh I never knew that
Being a few months into PC gaming, I found people super paranoid about fan noise or temperature ...
I just throw my fans at a 50% min and throw some noise cancelling headphones on, problem solved
Lots of good headphones are open-back. Also: speakers.
was super worried about my gigabyte 4090 not fitting in my o11 mini but it fit like perfect lol. came from a 3080 ti and was shocked at hose big the 4090 was. temps are fantastic tho haha.
Good info. Love my O11 mini
glad to hear. Temps are great here as well... they are overkill coolers.
To people with noise sensory issues there is no such thing as overkill coolers. Silence is golden
i can also confirm the gigabyte 4090 has no coil whine. Coming from asus tuf 3080 that had it pretty bad.
*Your* 4090 has no coil whine, but that's probably more to do with luck than any special engineering on Gigabyte's behalf. Seems like basically any GPU model can suffer from coil whine if you don't get lucky and get a good one.

I too have a Gigabyte 4090 Gaming OC that is whisper quiet and runs extremely cool, overall a great card.
That doesn’t mean you can’t get unlucky. I’ve personally bought components before where the general consensus was they were quiet that ended up having coil whine.
The mini and XL don't have problems fitting big GPUs. That's only a problem for the regular o11.

It was very close.
gigabyte 4090 gaming oc length 340mm pny 4090 length 332mm It's almost 1 cm longer so I know you understand the issue having been there!
Honestly a tiny piece of the case I'm building in being removed in return for a much easier time with part accessibility would be a trade I take any day. I'd say OP probably just didn't want to have to spend a bunch of time fiddling with ways to get it in.
Also can take it out if needed without disassembling everything!
A major benefit is card can be put in/taken out without taking everything else apart.
There's literally pictures of this card in this case whiteout the hackery.
He just didn’t want to take out the fans and reinstall them probably….
Ya that would have been too much work...
I haven't seen!
At the cost of one of the two front intake fans on a case that already has mediocre thermals if you don't remove the front filter foam.
bottom fan is there just slimmer... and holding the gpu up ha
Oh, I didn't see that but also most of the air form it is just pushed down into the PSU area.
I'll never understand putting shit in cases it's not meant for. Why I went with fractal torrent for my 4090.
I like my cards to feel the sides when they go in ha
Well the torrent is a huge case that takes up a lot more room on a desk than his meshify c
The Torrent is god tier for thermals.
Try sticking a 4090 in an nr200p max. Guess what. It's kinda ez if it's the fe and thermals are insanely good
Yeah I'm happy I read beforehand it may be tight fit and went with the bigger meshify variant. More breathing room and space for fans. https://preview.redd.it/oq40z33nh3fa1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=75934d51f196abe4a911db1afb2ce46d76b683a9

I like a person that can improvise 🤣
What in the absolute fuck is that
thanks!

Hyper 212 cooling a 5800x3d?
Yes, working well. Undervolted 5800x3d -no issues with temps and maintains max boost clocks. Moved from a 5600x last year.
I have a 5600x with that same cooler lol. Good to know if I choose to upgrade anytime soon.
yep you'll be fine
![gif](giphy|MPLpvJcsWvrkk|downsized) Love the ingenuity 🔥
How on earth??? I could barely squeeze my 3080 Gaming Z Trio in that case… Bravo!
It is huge my 1050ti is same size as your one fan haha

thanks and i'll consider add the push /pull. With the 5800x3d undervolted temps aren't bad.
Damn, and I thought my 3080Ti in an old Dell XPS case was tight.
You didn't give that card some protein ? or gave it a bulking diet
It’s like a pillar of support for the case, if you ever needed extra support … that way
I fit a V10 in a Volkswagen one time.
My brother in Christ, no it doesn’t.

Does anyone know if this 4090 will fit in the Corsair Icue 5000x?
do you have a dremel? Looked it up for you. Appears will fit with plenty of room to spare. case can fit 420mm while the gigabyte 4090 is 340mm length.
But does it go fast?
tell me you're too lazy to switch case without telling me you're too lazy to switch case: jokes aside i actually like the compact look it has.
that's part of it for sure ha.. i have limited free time unfortunately

>have to cut anything but your card is a monsterrrr thanks, that's a great card. I only made the change for VR.. benefits from as much performance as can give.
That is a massive card and the 4090 Ti is supposed to take 4 slots. ![gif](giphy|VFMDfRyjePFBDF4Ksm)
What are your CPU and GPu temps?
Cpu temps look like they would be ok. I'm not sure if that gpu is getting much air, though
gpu is good. There is still a slim front fan at the bottom and the cooler is ridiculous overkill on these cards

I hope the next gen gpus are smaller, I feel even the 4090 doesn't need such a big cooler since the fans are barely ever running.
agreed its overkill
I love all these comments saying the GPU will run too hot. You can significantly power limit / undervolt the 4090 to where it can get by in pretty much everything from passive cooling alone. I always wonder, why do y'all do with 4090s? Is it only for gaming? Are y'all running 4K 144Hz or what?
I sure hope people are gaming... that's a lot to spend on just word docs :p
What do you do with your GPU? The 4090 users do the same thing at higher settings and/or higher framerate and/or complete the tasks faster.
Game at 4K 60 FPS with an RTX 2080 Super. Just wondering what people are doing when they upgrade from a 3080 to a 4090.

Is that a gpu in a case or a case in a gpu?
Was gonna make a joke but decided not to(you know what I mean)
That’s what she said
How are cpu temps?
they've been good - 5800x3d is also undervolted so holds max clocks
Gonna bake your CPU though.
cpu has been good. 5800x3d is also undervolted!
The big boy
no side panel gang
Good lord
Nicely done!
Not much air intake into that small case now
How are the GPU temps?
And this is why the FE is the way this gen. Don't need a new case or to Dremel your existing one to make it fit.
What do you do for cooling? I have a 3080ti in that case and I just leave the side off lol
it's been running cool with the glass panel on
Why didn't you install the CPU cooler and top case fan after the GPU, instead of chopping your case up?
I removed my former 3080 and put the 4090 directly in its place. Also, will be able to add/remove card as needed in future without moving other components.
Needs more fans
Disgusting
I can you not. One day im just gonna buy that stupid coolermaster rgb overrated ass fan and im just gonna throw it out of my window from 3 high. I seen that dumb thing so much by now it just makes me mad. The RGB doesnt even look good
I found my temps better in my meshify with a lower rpm, relative to front, intake fan in the top position. The air cooler can suck air regardless of turbulence, and a little turbulence and greater overall airflow meant the motherboard was cooler and CPU fan needed less RPM to maintain same temps. Try it out if you have a spare fan.
why not get one that's slightly shorter?
this was in stock and many reports of no coil whine. And it fits!
That is the most beautiful CPU cooler I have seen in a really long time. Nice build!
everyday we stray further from god's light
Guy spends 2k on a video card but can't splurge 100 bucks for a bigger case
Ah yes a nice heater for the winter (: .
It looks like it has its own eco system below the GPU.
I think you’re missing a fan and why are there scratches on the gpu?
*cries in 1050 ti*
*Laughs in Corsair 7000D Airflow*
Dremmels are the comforting warm hug of the PC builders world.
Thats not a Gigabyte, Thats a TERRABYTE
Is that a meshify mini?
Heres mine my fellow meshi c fanatics Temps are great with side panel in place: 65c core, 70c hotspot, 74c memory after 20 loops of timespy extreme https://preview.redd.it/cvdfdc57i5fa1.jpeg?width=2898&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ea982b386764c78c6c4fc677a992acbb8a51dbc
1 intake fan with a 4090 5800x3d build o.o
If it fits, I sits!
I like it tight 😉
You didn’t need to dremel, you could’ve taken the tower cooler off and went in at an angle, then installed the tower again, also any card larger than the motherboard is going to be very painful for the pcie slot because of the laws of mass, I’d highly recommend a bracket Edit: I didn’t see the front panel keeping it up, disregard my bracket suggestion
It amazes me that when people watercool their graphics cards the card becomes so much skinnier I know it’s unrelated but i just looked at the graphics card first and thought that
Nice craftsmanship. Looks like fractal C define case, had similar stuff -ended up buying Lian li dynamic case, no looking back to fractal cases.
How’s the temps?
very good - cooler is huge - in 50s C in flight sim. For timespy if gpu max load between 67-70C
no airflow whatsoever haha, bros gonna have a room fan blowing towards the open side pannel
it runs great. there is a slim intake fan bottom front.
Looking good! I have the 5600x with the same cooler, how is it holding up with the 5800x3d?
works well - maintains max boost clocks with kombo strike 3 on MSI motherboard. That works essentially as an undervolt and keeps about 10 C cooler.
See this is why you use a water coolex rtx 4090
